Ahh, nostalgia! I remember watching this review trying to determine if I should get this tablet. Tech has come a long way, and so has the quality of your channel!
im here after watching mkbhds one plus tab review
I remember being 15 and showing my mom this video since we couldn’t afford an iPad. We’ve come a long way, thanks bro
You could of gotten an iPad 1 for cheaper in 2011 or early 2012
You should expect this video to blow up now after your most recent video. Incredible dedication and hard work, even after 10 years I still enjoyed this review.
I've got to say, that is probably one of the best reviews of this I have seen, and i've watched quite a few!! You just earned yourself another subscriber!!
Keep up what you're doing, you're doing it well. I subscribed because of the ATH-M50 review, which actually led to me buying them, and I noticed you respond to TONS of comments. That's actually awesome, and not many TH-camrs do it. You earned my subscribe.
You have a really unique and almost "premium" way of creating you're reviews, whic i really enjoy! Keep making them reviews!!
great review. you go into a lot of detail which is always appreciated. ordered the 32gb variety and a dock from amazon today....this review sealed the deal for me. thanks and keep up the good work :)
My first tablet that I ever purchased. Still have it, though no where as "liquid smooth," as before lol. Can't get myself to toss it.
This thing is a champ. :) I've had one since late January and haven't been disappointed! The wifi issues were present with some of the tablets (at least in the early batches) and were discovered to not be caused by the metal body, but by a manufacturing error whereby some of the antennas would be kind of... disconnected inside. I haven't had issues. Next tab does have a non-metal area to help with better GPS accuracy.
As if anyone uses tabs for GPS. :) Thanks for your high-quality, classy vids!
My man! Thank you for rotating the device 360 degrees! I am doing some insane mods in my vehicle that requires the tablet have this capability. (I think this feature is in all versions of Android for tablets, but needed to see it.)
I will be waiting for your review of the keyboard dock. I need to know how easy it is to disassemble. Given that info, I will decide on buying a dock or buying the hinge thats in the dock from ASUS and incorporating it elsewhere.
Great vid! Thanks!
Finally you did a review on this, I've been waiting forever!
So did you end up buying it?
Great review! I like the intro as well :) It defenetly looks a lot better than the other android tablets. Looks a lot smoother, and just better overall. I'm still going to stick to the iPad though. Nice job man, keep up the great work.
wow...your review was the best thing ive seen so far. a good mix of facts and the video was entertaining...u got my subscription!
Haha thanks for turning it around to see the rotating animation. It's finally on par with the iPad 2. Really itching to pick one up now but I'll see what ICS can do on the OG Transformer! Can't friggin' wait!
Great video review man! I am loving my Prime although that speaker placement really ticks me off... I've gotten used to holding the tablet upside down, so problem solved. Keep up the good work. Your reviews are amazing!
Excellent review, thanks for including info on updates for areas that needed improvement.
This tablet was ahead of its time.
marques you are such a legend. you are one of the only reviewers I know that always answers the viewers questions. do you think that the primes performance is comparable to the I pad 2. can you pleas to a video with gaming on the prime. thanks. keep up the good work! :-)
Finally we get the review! Excellent job!
@david90531
It actually ships with honeycomb, but as soon as you connect it to wifi you'll get a prompt to update.
Awesome Review! This was a completely informative and pleasantly detailed video in just over 5 minutes! I watch alot of reviews and have seen a few about the same product. I love those reviewers and liked their reviews but theirs dont compare to yours.. Glad Im subscribed
Thank you so much for the rendering tip. Everything runs so much faster now!
Nice review man! Very professional, keep it up!
Oh man, this looks like an amazing tablet! I'm looking to buy one soon and this is one that i'm considering as well as the Sony Tablet S and hopefully the iPad 3. If it has a quad-core processor and retina display, it's going to be a close battle between this and the iPad 3.
Enjoy your reviews mate. You have a nice natural projection. Keep it up.
i like every single video of you dude you are the best
It seems like they put the speaker in that location so you can cup it with your hand to direct the sound towards your head. I do this with my X2 when watching videos. I'd do the same with this tablet. Nice review, I'm sold on this tablet now and am going to buy it.
LoL Excellent video! This was the first tablet video I have ever watched where I actually considered buying a different tablet other than the iPad. (Btw, thanks for saying my name yesterday on your live stream! :)
Watching this after 11 years. Nostalgia!
Talk about old tech now, used to have one of these..
THIS is the tablet pc i am going to buy! Thanks for posting a great video! Yes, the little drawbacks of the GPS (which can be resolved with the firmware update), the wifi situation, and also the speaker in that peculiar place are really minor. I think this is THE tablet that will rock the ipad 3 world! I will get one in two to three weeks! I love those games you were playing! AWESOME! The speed of this thing is incredible!!! I WILL get one of these!
@BlueCatShip Great review by the way. and BlueCatShip, the prime has a docking station that you can buy for 150 that fits perifectly. it has an extra battery, full size SD card slot, USB port, Keyboard, Trackpad and the input to charge the duo. you should check out Engadget's review on it. they have the dock and the tablet.
and secondly, if ASUS were to put a full size USB port on the tab. it would become alot thicker than it already is. so their solution was to put it on the dock.
Wows this was sooo awesome and informative! I was thinking about getting a ipad 2 but after seeing this along with another review on this tablet im soo getting this instead! So thannx :)
Awesome review, can't wait to test it out myself
Just came from the OnePlus tablet video to see how far we’ve come with tablets 😅
haha hey i watched your review on amazon! very thorough, ever since i pre ordered ive been steadily following reviews to see if i should cancel or not, im keeping it should be here tomorrow. anyway great review great tablet! :)
videos are so pro now. great work!!!
MAN! I really want that tablet really bad! Really nice review, still thinking about which tablet can't be red in sunlight... :)
Going to be ordering mine Thursday and I can't wait. I'll get a taste of ICS before it comes to my Razr. This will be replacing the daily duties of my old Samsung Galaxy Tab (The old 7 inch).
Haha I was in the G+ hangout hangout last night found your channel nice review BTW subscribed
I'm waiting to upgrade to the high-res Transformer Prime when it's release but my OG Transformer will be used for now.
Thanks for reviewing this...you beat the major tech sites to it
Dude, nice review style, just subscribing!
That looks incredible! It seems like the best Android tablet ever, and possibly the best tablet on the market, period! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I just ordered my prime, I can't wait for it.
I always come back to this review since it was released, its just THAT amazing.btw what tablet are you using now Marques ?
AMAZING REVIEW!! every time I watch one of your reviews, I always get "Got to buy this" feeling. I bet if you reviewed a pair of socks, I would get the same feeling ;P you are that good.
Thanks for this entertaining yet informative review.
Respect.
Watching this because I convinced my sister to buy one back then. The memories.
I think the placement of the speaker is so that you cup your hand around it (rather than covering it) thus funnelling the sound to the front with your hand :)
Love the video, when is the next installment of your Mac mini series? Really looking forward to it.
excellent review brother. loving mine
I watched this and am posting this comment from my Asus Transformer Prime. Love the tablet, my poor Droid2 is getting so lonely and neglected. Great vids as aways, keep up the good work. I will correct you on one thing though, the Champagne version (which is what mine is) is not really gold at all. It is almost more of a brushed aluminum or nickel type look. It is far far more silver than the Amethyst Gray is gray, which is basically purple.
After the one plus tablet review.
Yo, I just wanted to let you know, your videos made me order the tf201 today! Wish me luck for no bt, wifi, GPS issues.
@marquesbrownlee definitely that high res screen is gonna look sweet and i love the 16:10 aspect ratio
the screen has a much higher resolution, the back has slightly changed to allow signals to work better, and i believe it has a higher clock speed for the quad core portion of the processor.
I have to agree with all the other folks, perhaps the best review ever!
You got me as subscriber!!!
BTW, did you really tried it in Sunlight?
Im going for the infinity cant wait to have it!
liked for the great review, subbed for the amazing taste in music
Awesome review as always, now where is the Galaxy Nexus full review :)
well, seeing as higher resolution screens are where the market seems to be going, its probably going to be better than having a lower res screen that might be outdated by this time next year, so for me personally, if i was buying a tablet, i would be waiting for the infinity. if price is an issue, you should wait till the 22nd, because the transformer pad 300 is going on sale for a price point even lower than this one, and i believe it has the same specs
Really good review! Good job
Awesome review. You have yourself a new subscriber. :)......... I'll be getting mine in 2 wks can't wait.
im going to just wait for the infinity. when ever they decide to release it tfor the US. hopfully it will be relase sometime on Q2 2012 like most website that i found say it going to be release even tho theres no official release for it (nor price but probally it going to cost $100 more than the curtain price for the Prime im guessing)
if i never had about infinity. i would probally be typing this comment on a prime. but good things come to those who wait.
btw, great review on the prime
Thanks for review! Good stuff, can't wait for Nexus review!
looks good! Can't wait for the iPad 3 to come out, so the others have a new target to aim at...
I LOVE your detail. Liquid smooth :D
You have amazing videos. So glad i found you. epic review I want this!
@marquesbrownlee I would imagine so. I searched Google Shopper, its listed on a couple sites for $500. I admire how fast you respond to comments, awesome job man!
great vid as always but witht the speaker placement you mentioned i find that when holding the tablet landscape with your hand cupping the speaker it makes it amplified and sound better xD maybe done on purpose by asus or not who knows:)
Best reviewer ive seen
Great review; looks like a neat tablet. Still liking my iPad2, but envying the ports there. No USB port for flash drives or external HD? I wish Apple or Asus would do that. -- Do you recommend the small memory cards? No FireWire port either? They're missing out, IMHO. Is there some good tech reason not to include those? -- Subscribed.
The pricing is mad, just for the keyboard dock is some where around 150 bucks,i'd love to have device like this, but i guess im just gonna wait for the 370T eee pad memo,7 incher powered by tegra 3,and for only 250 bucks...hope they release it by the summer
You should wait until the Infinity comes out. It has all these useful ports that the ipad does not have. It also has a Full HD screen, with a 16:9 aspect ratio so videos will fill up the screen and not give you black bars like on the ipad.
@PrydaCro depends on the ipad 3s specs, if it does have a retina display, quad core, usb (UNLIKELY), thunderbolt, 1gb ram get it because of the ipads opptimized apps they have a third more apps or wait for the asus prime hd with a better display or if youre tight on money wait for the asus epad memo which has simular specs to this for £250
Excellent review, really informative!
looks really good. ICS4.0 really optimized for the tablets and i wish iOS can have a little more customization. the 2 things im disappointed about the tablet are the position of the speaker(at least ipad put it over the upper right rather than lower right) and the GPU=/ is nice too see that tegra 3 really step up its pace but it sadden my to see its still not as fast as A5 in graphics rendering. mayb this is something they can work on since i think quad core is going to stay in mobile market.
Awesome device and a great review.
@marquesbrownlee thats why i cant wait for the new dualcores theyll perform way better then current ones but still be well priced so even low end-mid range phones will perform well and people wont judge Android based on crap hardware
Idk...ive had many tablets and i wasn't convinced with how u showed me the browser testing...it seemed slow with responsiveness but otherwise it does look very promising. The design looks stunning and the features are unbeatable. Apps are growing im sure of that but still maybe they'll fix the browser and ill buy it.
great review, 10/10 as always!
awesome I cant wait to get one of these
Although I don't think this is the device for me, this is a nice review. Keep it up!
I have this one and a Android 4.1 aka Jellybean just came out and it is lovely.
Again great video! what camera are you using? My son wants to videos
Drool... Keep the reviews coming.
Hi, I have Transformer T201, love it. Wifi with Vodafone flakey, wifi with Telstra, great....Aust. Loving Riptide GP, so much fun. Great review, thanks..
Best asus Transformer Prime Review ever
I Love asus
Did you have WiFi issues? I want one of these but I hear they're plagued with WiFi problems. Thanks MB! Love the vids man
damn.. it looks sweet to me...I'm seriously considering this tablet to take with me when I travel...
nice video man , i have the le pan ii , it's more like the asus transformer (tegra 2). If you have time do a review.
nice review!! could you please in your opinion tell me which you would buy ?(ipad new or asus t.prime infinity ?)thanks!
Awesome review very professional.
Amazing review ;) !!
Too bad It's not available by ASUS itself since the price in Amazon is over $620 for the 32GB and over $740 for the 64GB
I was really proud of my intro there for a second....I assume you're getting into After Effects too?
I have the Galaxy note phone and the speaker is in a position on the bad and in landscape mode is converted at first I was like what the? BUT I figured if you held it right it reflected that sound back at you with your hand.. Kinda like positioning and adapting your position if viewing while in the LG Thrill or Super Mario 3DS... While holding the tablet your peal projects the sound toward you.IMO thanks
i initallly was looking into this because im a fan of everything else Transformer but this is truly amazing!!! I think this is the one! :) Thanks for the review. And I'm totally stealing 'holy buns' from you!
You should do a refresh video review like you did for your nexus.
How many hours do you spend on editing your videos ???? They look freaking GORGEOUS !!!!! Pretty much how Modern Combat 3 would look on your phone and tablet
