The Estampes depict imaginary voyages to lush destinations - The final movement shows a French garden in the midst of a violent rainstorm. Debussy mixes harmony like watercolor, modulating to unexpected tonalities. He also quotes two French nursery rhymes in the melody. The impression is of a child looking through the window at the rainstorm for a while, before running outside to splash recklessly in the water. This was one of the first challenging pieces I learned in high school, and I'm happy to be able to play it again for you now!
i don’t usually comment on videos but i just had to say I LOVE the way you play it!! i’m gonna start learning it in a week i’m so excited! i’m planning to use your video as one of my references for analyzing style and interpretation because you play it so beautifully the balance of dissonance and beautiful harmonies and melodies somehow perfectly describes my life, love debussy 4ever
Amazing and clean work! I once learned this but was never confident with playing it in my channel. It's so hard for me musically, and technically in some bits, mostly getting the arpeggios even
Thank you so much for uploading this! One of my colleagues at the conservatory played this for his final exams and he passed. I've been looking for a good rendition of this piece and i've found it!
I don’t know if this is my favorite piece from Estampes (played all of them ☺️), but it’s definitely the most fancy one 🤩 Your rendition was awesome 👏🏻👏🏻
Just curious, but would this piece be compatible to my skill level? I have finished the first Pathetique mvt (working my way through second), learning Prelude in D major (rach), and I finished Souvenir de Paganini. I’ve done also done one other Rach prelude. I want to learn this piece but I also want to learn it so I can play it well.

Thank you!! I think it was easier for me because I had a year of coaching on it in high school… Debussy is definitely tricky
@@SeeMusicPiano A year... that's why. I only tried it for 2-3 months

Glad you enjoyed it!

О, красиво. Светящиеся пианино.✨😍

Amazing playing and visual!👏👏👏👏👏
I hear this song quotes three lullabies and mocks the sound of wind and water droplets. Does anyone know where these are in the song?
epic! can’t wait!
Thanks for watching!

YES
Could you play Mendelssohn's spring song op. 62. No. 6?
Hi Peter, sorry if this already answered in the comments. I find the sound piano suberb is this a plug in or a digital piano??? Thanks 🎉
How long would it take for a beginner to be able to play this well?
If you are a begginer, you should start with an easier piece. Maybe like 3-4 years
Is it possible to play fast like this on an upright?
