Interest rate is currently at 4.75%(8th rate hike since March last year) Inflation at 7% and mortgage rates is at over 7.5% but yet minimum wage remains the same and my retirement portfolio has suffered tremendously these past years, so my question is how do senior citizens retire and live off such unstable economy. The long term game is obviously not for me at this point.
My belief is that making a wise investment is a fantastic way to save money for the future as well as a way to generate passive income. Those who make poor mistakes early in life regret them later in life. But, if done alone, investing may be challenging and risky. For this reason, I suggest consulting experts for advice (financial advisors). The difficulty lies in effectively employing it, not just watching videos and reading investing books.

Shorting a position does not mean you are responsible for crash. It was going to crash anyways. All he did was sell at a price and bought back at a lower price. He was not the one that asked both governments to set bullshit economic polices. 🤷♂️

The US-Stock Mrkt had been on it’s longest bull-run in history, so the mass hysteria and panic is relatable, considering we’re not accustomed to such troubled mrkts, but there are avenues lurking around if you know where to look, I’ve netted over $850k in the past 10months and it wasn't some rocket-science strat. Erm, the problem with the UK's relationship with the ERM was that the UK joined at the wrong time at the wrong rate. Had the UK been in at the beginning or if it had joined at a more realistic rate then it would have been better able to resist the forces of the currency speculators. What was done to the UK was later done to various other currencies after they picked off sterling. George Soros was only one speculator amongst many, including many UK banks.

He is a hedge fund managers. He shorts stock among other tradeable assets like bonds etc. So basically he bets against a company or an economy. When things fail he makes profits. So naturally, he wants things to fail. Because that is how he makes his billions.
But things just don't fall that often so what you do is create chaos artificially. Which hits the economy. Boom you just made billions. It is that simple. It is up to you if you like him or not. But you know what he doesn't care about you. He just wants to make billions.

Well with the economy and stocks at where it is now, I'd be disappointed if people weren't making any error on their portfolio at this time, it was much easier to navigate during the bull-run, regardless I still see and read articles of people pulling over $225k by the weeks in trades, how come?

I can't see it ever happening but if I ever start to question my support of President Trump I have only to remind myself of how much George Soros hates him and my support will be renewed. Simply put, England backed their pound by buying it even when it doesn't make sense; everybody knew that the currency had to devalue eventually. The British government was propping up a disingenuous exchange rate, hoping to be right. It would've happened regardless. Soros was the biggest player, but he was far from being the only player. There are a lot of currency arbitrageurs in the world today who bet against fixed exchange rates. It's not immoral so much as verifying the claims of the government.

It all started Soros invaded the Thailand by request a loan from Thailand Government's bank, buying Thailand currency and convert it to USD, and then push down the value of Thailand currency and pay back his loan to the Thailand government.
It might be a little complicated, the currency rate are statics back in the 90s, maybe 1 time a day, *say* 1 USD = 50 Thai Bhat.
Soros loans 5,000,000,000 Thai Bhat from Thai goverment, then convert it to 100,000,000 USD.
Soros then use something new called "Leverage"(new that time) to sell Thai's currency lowering it's value to 1 USD = 100 Thai Bhat, yet the currency rate updates few days later.
Since Soros had already convert his money to USD, and the original loan from Thai was 5,000,000,000 Thai Bhat.
Soros convert back from 100,000,000 USD to Thai Bhat is a different story now, hes USD now value 10,000,000,000 Thai Bhat, paying only half of his loan, 50,000,000 USD.
He made 50,000,000 USD, that's how the stories goes, same to other Asia country.
Hong kong had no idea either to allow their country being economically beaten(like other asia country which takes over 20 to 30 years to economically recover) or it's okay to use their citizens's fund(the reserve money in their bank) as trump card.
Just before the expiry of heng seng bond(I forgot which, correct me if I'm wrong), the government of Hong Kong finally decided to gamble(they shouldn't be allowed to because government should not interfere "free market") with Soros with all citizens funds, buying bunch of hong kong stocks, pushing up and down the hang seng index, and Hong Kong won and Soros lost money(don't ask me how much).
