@@rider1388 come to california man you’ll love it here. Anywhere in los angeles county you’re only at most 40 minutes away from good canyon roads. And miles of it too not just a little 2 mile stretch. Hundreds of miles of tight technical roads mixed with long sweepers and everything in between. Go on any canyon road and you will forsure see another grip enthusiast. Also the best cars and coffees. Every weekend theres different cars and coffee events all over the state. Local events, or big aftermarket tuning companies such as Art of Attack or WRTeknica. Track civics next to paganis and mclaren sennas. Its amazing here

I do live in some flat land territory, out near Raleigh NC area. My only concern would be police in Cali. They seem to be such assholes. I'm decatted, sort of loud-ish in a Miata, but it's loud just for the good tone. Hard to make a Miata sound throaty without being loud.

But honestly man there are so much builds out here, if you just dont act like a complete dumbass you would be completely fine. They can only patrol a few spots on canyon roads. . For example on angeles crest hwy (one of my favorite roads) most of the time they’re just in the beginning so you just take it easy let the car warm up for the first 10-12 miles, and for the rest 55 miles you can go full attack.

You have no idea how much better it looks to have a driver cam showing the correct driver position in a car. It's so much easier to watch everything else when we aren't focusing on mirrored steering inputs
seems like the car is pushing the front end a tad to much, it almost starts to understeer a tiny bit coming out of the apex...... that shit is scary as fuck and it seems you have to dive into the corners earlier than what I would expect, and you cant stay on the gas at all so most apexs you gotta let off some, or you'll just instantly understeer and it will push the car towards the outer lane... you can definitely keep up as a driver, its a setup limitation. I think that mainly suspension and alignment adjustment would help you. A professional weight balance and alignment would be sick to see and to even hear your opinions on it, especially towards your cars setup and where your knowledge sits and came from to get where it is now. I think a few videos back when your car got loose on you is where I would have taken some measures to have someone or a shop really work with you on a setup together. connections and people helping each other is how we stay alive, stay safe man, more importantly make sure your car keeps you safe. it seems like the setup is a little dangerous but I'm not there... Id love to hear thoughts.... keep up the consistent uploads they are sick my guy
I actually have my car setup to push a little, plus with the torsen at wot, it pushes the front, but it's only a bit. I try to shift some of the sliding to the front, so the rear stays in check. I'd rather go off/on throttle in a quarter second than have to catch some oversteer at 100+

Get an anti-lift kit, fat rear swaybar, maybe camber plates up front. Run about 1.5-2° of negative camber up front and stock in the back. 0° of toe all around and you'll be set. Don't forget getting really good tires. Stock suspension is fine, you don't need coilovers. Power wise you NEED a de-catted up-pipe because the cat will get loose and grenade your turbo. A turboback exhaust with a bell mouth downpipe plus a tune and the car really comes alive.

STI top mount intercooler, a nice little blow off valve, not a cat-less exhaust, but it still sounds great, I’m pushing about 1 to 1.5 bar(s) of boost, short through shifter, and everything else is stock to my knowledge. It has been tuned before hand, I bought it off my uncle once he got an 08 STI hatch. Appreciate the comment :))
@@starseed- at the very least get a catless up-pipe, that’s the turbo destroying one, and then do what you want with the rest of the exhaust. Just remember to get it tuned for any power mods you do. The reason people think subies are unreliable is because they don’t get their car tuned and it blows up.
The turn at 5:09 def seems like a double apex or late apex turn. Also, griffin has a much lighter car and I'm assuming he focuses a bit more on suspension setup, that could have a big effect on how he's able to run better lines.
I wasn't. It was tolerable, because we all fantasize about owning a RHD car, but it was too weird watching him drive normal, but turning right to go left, and left to go right.

The flaw in your driving isnt your line, its the fact that you dont commit to heel-toe. Braking, then getting off the brakes to rev match, then getting back on the brakes not only upsets the car, but it KILLS your time. every time griffin widens the gap, its because hes already done with his downshifts and back on the gas clipping the apex, because he is heel toe-ing into the corner, its not necessarily that his line is superior. if you find the pedal position awkward you can modify the gas pedal to be closer to the brakes easy with a custom gas pedal from RAZO or MOMO/SPARCO. just drill a couple holes in your stock pedal and adjust the position until its just right for you to lean over and blip the gas while you are braking hard. hope this helps tsuchi kun. i have been driving touge/track 20 years, a mysterious grey WRX may appear on the 9 soon. 👀👀
