  • These commercials aired on Lifetime on December 28th, 1988
    1. "The Night They Saved Christmas" Commercial Bumper (I think this is the first time I've posted anything from Lifetime)
    2. Publisher's Clearing House Procter & Gamble Coupons
    3. L'eggs
    4. NyQuil Cherry Flavor
    5. Smucker's Simply Fruit (Doesn't sound like Mason Adams here...get this imposter off of the stage!)
    6. Kit 'N Kaboodle (You know that cat is just going to go right back to chasing you once he's through eating)
    7. Promo for "MacGruder & Loud" (I understand that most of what they played back then were TV movies and other leftovers from network TV...but it's a bit weird they were airing reruns of a show that only ran for 15 episodes. If this were airing every weekday it would take only three weeks to watch the entire series)
    8. Lifetime's Coast To Coast Shopping Spree Winner
    9. "The Night They Saved Christmas" Commercial Bumper (The colors in these bumpers remind me of the old CGA four color graphics on an IBM computer: • Karateka PC IBM Longpl... )
    10. Pelican Homestead (Our bank is guarded by Pelicans)
    11. Winn Dixie
    12. Generations: Reflections On Women Bumper
    13. Generations: Reflections On Women (I am...not sure what this is. I'm just going to back away slowly...)
    14. Campbell's Soup (What a weird ad)
    15. Publisher's Clearing House
    16. Promo for "A Reason To Live"
    17. Campbell's Home Cookin' Soup (With the voice of Jimmy Stewart)
    18. Florida Orange Juice
    19. Miracle Ear Hearing Aid
    20. Promo for "Threesome"
    21. Promo for "Cagney & Lacey"
    22. Campbell's Home Cookin' Soup
    23. Sears FlexSlax (I'm guessing that's Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk because it looks exactly like him)
    24. 100% Colombian Coffee (If you're a wealthy aristocrat traveling on the Orient Express and somebody stops the train...run)
    25. Encyclopedia Britannica
    26. Promo for "Cover Up" (Another one season TV show, this show at least had 22 episodes)
    27. Word Of Faith
    28. Happy Holidays from Cox Cable
    29. Lifetime's Coast To Coast Shopping Spree Winner (Sorry for dupe)
    30. Smucker's Simply Fruit
    31. Consumer Reports Magazine
    32. Angel Soft
    33. Franklin Mint The Classic Cars of the Fifties Die Cast Cars (Adjusting for inflation that makes owning these around $130)
    34. Promo for "MacGruder & Loud"
    35. Promo for "Attitudes"
    36. Jimmy Swaggart Crusade
    37. Promo for "Our Health" (This is dangerous and reckless pseudoscience...but that sure is some lovely synth music!)
    38. Your Life Daily Vitamin Pak
    39. Elvis '68 Comeback Special on VHS (It's sad to me that he died less than 10 years after this special where he looked so young and healthy)
    40. Promo for "Cable Ace Awards"
    41. Nordic Track
    42. Promo for "Easy Street" (This originally aired on NBC for one season in 1986. Besides Loni Anderson, it featured Dana Ivey and James Cromwell in supporting roles)
    43. Movies On Lifetime in December
    44. "The Night They Saved Christmas" End Credits (I've actually seen this, and it's actually not bad for a TV movie and has a decent cast...including Mason Adams as a greedy oil executive and Art Carney as Santa. They didn't have the budget to do the North Pole justice, but the plot involves Santa Claus trying to stop an oil driller from dynamiting the North Pole...so it's more interesting than most made-for-TV Christmas schlock. The full movie can be seen here: • Video )

Smucker's Simply Fruit- I always found these commercials very relaxing. From the music, scenery, to the announcer's voice, everything about it just encourages you to relax.
Campbell's Home Cooking Soup- I love how sweetly the Grandfather with Jimmy Stewart's voice interacts with the kids in these ads, encouraging them and comforting them with the Campbell's Soup. I would love to have a Grandfather like him.

That L'eggs commercial is one of my favorite 80s commercials, thanks to the lite jazz arrangement of the ZZ Top song. Plus, the woman in the ad truly looks beautiful 😍❤

Glad to know it's the real Jimmy Stewart in those Campbell's ads and not an impersonator.

Sounds like Burgess Meredith in the next commercial.

5:40 - I think that kid with the sunglasses takes fashion tips from Elton John.

Oh wow, I haven’t thought about Attitudes in literally years!!! My mom loved that show, for whatever reason. I found it boring but she watched it all the time. Holy cow, what a blast from the past. lol

That Home Cookin' Soup Ad - Having watched An American Tail: Fievel Goes West a number of times growing up, I can't help but think that her grandpa is an off-camera Wylie Burp...

OMG, I remember these commercials on Lifetime! lol Lifetime Network started airing reruns of Spenser: For Hire, right after ABC cancelled the show.

Man, that Your Life ad is peak '80s. Back in the days when "lifestyle management" was just slamming an entire packet of pills every day.

yeah wouldn't be surprised if sears was trying to make a hulk reference (I mean using 'incredible' like that couldn't have been an accident :P) also kinda dig the franklin mint cars, neat! also, noticed 'scott grimes' in the credits of 'the night they saved christmas'? he also appeared in the 'critters' movies, american dad and most recently 'the orville' I thought his name looked familliar!

Thanks, I knew that they aired after Christmas based on the Sears commercial but wasn't sure about the date.

    Ads from Lifetime! Cool!
I think the lady in the Generations ad was also as confused as us, hence she walked away!
Was there some sort of alien transmission going on behind the Word of Faith ad?

even though the Generations: Reflections On Women is strange, she does ask some important questions that others might not really think about.

    Oh my goodness!!
i remember that Elvis Presley commercial! i was probably 4 or 5, and i remember thinking that he was SO beautiful. It would stop me in my tracks every time it aired.
i haven’t even seen that commercial since 1988 or 89, but i never forgot about it.
