Muay thai fighters in thailand only make that much. That's why thai fighters tend to go somewhere else to fight for more money depending on the organization they're in, such as ONE, etc.
My dad was a muay thai fighter we was poor dude he literally pissed blood after a fight from getting kick to the body but its a hard life in Thailand if u grow up in the country
I went to a muay thai/Kun Khmer gym thinking I wanted to learn some striking to go with my bjj, and take it to mma. I'll never do mma at this point. I like this too much. Oh, kun khmer is Cambodians version of muay thai, same rules, slight style differences. Lots of fundamentals, low kicks, body kicks, and CARDIO! Also, I know smokin Joe, dude who got knocked out in one of them. He left the sport for a few years, came back, and has been dominating since.
tbh I feel unfair that they just get this few from a match. but if u compare to a Thai locals salary they get that same amount of money after working for a whole month. and if they win with KO or TKO they might get extra paid from a match. so it's might not that bad as u think. but yeah Thai economic is shit!.
Long time ago Muaythai used in war.
Specifically in the Burmese-Siamese war the series of no less than 20 wars between Ayutthaya kingdom and the Burmese empires
