I love the way you evolve. The fill-ins, when you setup the cameras and film your arrival. It feels like you have a team arround you and show your talent in planing and production. And along the way you shoot beautyfull picture. Perfect.
The summer is my least favorite time. Dramatic skies and beautiful light in all other seasons. My cameras get a break in the summer except for for filling my daily snap obligation. Great videos and beautiful work. Thanks Thomas
Lovely picture. Very simple as you say. I have been watching your videos from the very beginning and I find your work inspiring for a beginner like me. Makes me want to pick up the camera and go.
I really enjoy your recent video that you reference in the beginning of this video. Thank You for making it! It inspires me to get out and shoot more often. Cheers - LF
I use to do what I termed "scouting". My favorite season was autumn and second was spring. Nothing is more pretty than to see the bright color of a flower pushing up through the remaining ice. Where I lived in New York state. There were very few public spaces to do landscapes. I had a route, or what I called "the loop" and was 20 odd miles. Spring and Autumn I would travel the loop. I would travel the loop in opposite directions to get other views of my "spots". ''really glad to have found your videos.
i Always start TH-cam well with you at the top of the list, I follow other "vloggers" but you I look forward to the most , do keep it up Tom.I do agree summer days and atmosphere light are not awarding like other seasons but like you said its about getting out and enjoying nature.well done
It's incredible how regularly that happens mate, you set up your camera and the conditions change on you but I like how you adapt with it. Glad I'm not the only one this happen to. Love the change of pace of this video Tom. I also prefer shooting in winter or autumn so when summer comes around (which is often long in Australia), I find myself reflecting on my approach to landscape photography. That's one of the great things about landscapes, there's so much variety and different styles to explore. Love your work!
Thanks. Less is More is often a symptom of summer shooting conditions. It feels liberating to go out and shoot intimate landscapes, rather than the usual 'epic' scenes.
I totally understand about needing a change. I do a lot of lanscapes like yours of big vistas such as mountains, oceans and cliffs but it gets a little boring after a while. I'm now experimenting with old film lenses, astrophotography and macro work.
Looking forward to the 2nd part, got to say a nice change from your other videos, Thomas almost back to the beginning its what drew me in at first, the mi of wild camping and photography, good stuff buddy. :)
Hi Thomas. Been following you a while. What I would find interesting is "the anatomy of a vlog". Basically BTS of how you vlog :) Partly due to that I find BTS in general interesting, and partly because I have somewhat started doing that myself. And I guess that other people will find it interesting as well. Cheers!
I can't believe anyone would ever give you a thumbs down! Your videos are cool. I do straight up point and shoot stuff in North Carolina, U.S. , and people always like my stuff (landscapes, moon shots, etc). I really like your stuff though and after watching your videos I'm seriously thinking about getting a DSLR and Manfroto and getting serious. Thanks!
Hi Thomas thanks for all the vids you have put up it has really inspired me to get my camping gear back out and take it with me just I case you know cause the older I get the heavier it seems to get so as a newbie to photography thanks
Good video, looks like a great location. That tree image screamed b&w to me, but that's perhaps just me ;) The light invariably changes between seeing and set-up, but as you say the Lee plastic caps will save some time, as does an adapter ring and cap on each lens so they're ready to go when you change them. Keep up the good work!
Another very enjoyable video and I'm glad it's not only me who can, on occasion, struggle to find something "fresh" to photograph! Your videos are becoming more and more polished Tom and are always eagerly awaited! Keep up the great work and roll on this Autumn!🍀👍
I like how sunsets seem to last a long time up in the UK. I live in northern Mexico and sunsets last about one minute. Great videos! I have subscribed a while ago.
What vango sleeping bag are you using? Also what is the weather rating it can handle, and how do you find it sleeping in the cold environment? Loving the work, keep it up!
as always, a quality video, I really must get out and do a video myself, it's always so last minute as I have a large family and kids need feeding 😂 top job Thomas, well done 👍👍
Hi Tom, I have done a few of these types of trips and my biggest worry is always leaving my car in a remote car park on the side of a road over night, do you have the same concerns?
Another great video dude...Out of interest, what tent do you take out with you on wild camps? Considering wild camps when spring arrives and interested in what people use..Many thanks Andy
Nice one. Cant beat the wild camping and getting some spectacular scenes. Going to maybe get myself a DSLR for filming and try some photography when I am out and about. Currently film in 4K in all weathers just using the Hero 4 Black so was looking at maybe getting a Panasonic FZ330 for its outdoors water resistance as I am struggling with just using a GoPro. Trying to keep weight down is not easy either as it all starts to mount up.
The best part of this vlog is when you build your camp and your vlog camera drop down to the ground, and the focus has change from the sky to the leaf. it think it's so dramatic. i hope you or your partner don't prepared this shot to drop the camera. And i think god use the wind who do this shot. i do love your channel. keep making vlog. THANKS!
Hi First of all please let me congratulate you for a really wonderful collection of inspiring videos. Speaking for myself, being a shy guy and a boy scout, my first love had to be landscape photography. And although I was away from it for a while, my desire to go out and try it arose again, and in some way your videos made me gather? my ‘old’ knowledge and go for it! :-) So, for that, thank you very much. Now, if I could I would like to hijack this video to ask you a question regarding shooting close to the water. Please, please, how do you keep your filters clean when shooting close to water on a windy day?? It’s impossible for me to take even one shot!! And cleaning it outdoors it’s useless, they never get clean! :-( Please, show me your Harry Potter trick because I love to photograph close to the water but after 5 minutes all my filters are completely foggy… Again, thank you very much and do keep up with the good work!
Fabulous location Thomas you must have been delighted with it. Many possibilities there. Re, the mist in the morning, did you know it was going to be misty ??? I would love to shoot images in mist. So such more interest in the mist, it's like, less is much more. I love watching your jaunts out probably because I have walked 20 Long Distance Footpaths but due to health reasons unable to keep it up. PLease keep making these excellent outings. May I suggest if others do like your work that they also check-out Craig Roberts videos. Thank you again...
Interesting video in a location I know well as I'm fairly local. I'm going to have to blame you though for there not being one car parking space there on Saturday! Everytime Ive been previously its been pretty much deserted.
Excellent video (again) Thomas especially the drone footage. I was at HC quarry myself the day before you uploaded this for the same peace and quiet but for someones car radio! I also will be returning in the autumn for the reservoirs and H Fell. P.S. I can't believe i used to abseil down that quarry onto that twisted lump of metal at the bottom which used to be a small jetty.
totally needs TV program! how do you do this with a family. Do you have one? Great you can share the beauty on video so we can all share in your adventures.
I noticed with your music you have chosen u have added that they have a common license, is this to future proof the video and how did u find out the license details, thanks in advance 👍👍👍
I have been partnered with BBTV, who give me music to use, but I'm not happy with their service, so I am ending my contract. As a result, I needed a new source of music. I did a little research and found that by using Soundcloud, I can filter my music searches by License. The Creative Commons tracks are free to use, so long as the info is copied in to the description.
Hooked on to your videos since I discovered this channel a week ago or so. Have a question... what kind of research do you do before deciding to camp all alone ? Dangers in the wild ? Whether it is allowed to or not etc ?
mmm to be honest i never thought about it this way !! good to know .. sorry Thomas, i actually enjoy your channel and don't intend to harm you in any way.
dude please, never stop making these videos. it's always like 10 minutes pure vacation from everything. just... thank you!
That's great to hear, thanks.
Bear Grills + professional photography = awesomeness.
I gotta say Thomas, the enthusiasm you carry on your videos is absolutely contagious!
Thomas uploaded a video?
Abort everything!
👍
Like it.
that moment when your camera fell was the most beautiful thing ive ever seen
I know! I set up the entire tent before realising it had fell. When I got back to the office, I couldn't believe my luck.
I love the way you evolve. The fill-ins, when you setup the cameras and film your arrival. It feels like you have a team arround you and show your talent in planing and production.
And along the way you shoot beautyfull picture. Perfect.
Thank you, that's a very kind comment. I'm glad you noticed the smaller details.
Luv you'r work!
Just love your outdoor jaunts of hill walking and photography and of course seeing beautiful scenery...
The summer is my least favorite time. Dramatic skies and beautiful light in all other seasons. My cameras get a break in the summer except for for filling my daily snap obligation. Great videos and beautiful work. Thanks Thomas
part 1 excellent can't wait for part 2
Stunning, simple picture and great info about your thinking.
Loved the story you told, Thomas. Thanks for your work!
Another photography adventure, I like it this.
Wow those part 2 mist shot teasers look amazing. Can't wait.
You're inspiring Tom. Your vlogs motivate me to get out and explore. Thank you.
That's all I want to hear, thanks.
A great video yet again! Thank you. I can't wait for part 2!
fantastic video, just watched 10 of them back to back. So inspirational!!
You are very talented and intuitive! Really nice work. Every new video is a pleasure to watch.
Thank you. Much appreciated.
Thank you for including some tidbits of the gear you use for filming and photographing.
Simply brilliant
Amazing videos as usual!!! I love the landscapes you went and imagine myself visiting them... Keep shooting!!! Great job!!!
Lovely picture. Very simple as you say. I have been watching your videos from the very beginning and I find your work inspiring for a beginner like me. Makes me want to pick up the camera and go.
You've inspired me, a wedding and sports photographer to get out and shoot some seascapes, love it! Thanks 👍🏻
Awesome. It's hard to beat a good seascape.
Pleasant surprise! Nice tranquil video. I like your your pursuit for simpler compositions. Not easy to pull off.
I know. I want to be able to produce nice images without needing to travel the globe in pursuit of magnificent vistas.
I really enjoy your recent video that you reference in the beginning of this video. Thank You for making it! It inspires me to get out and shoot more often. Cheers - LF
Your work is always so inspiring.. Love it!
You're quite like the Bob Ross of photography. Lovely work!
another great video Thomas looking forward to part 2
What an amazing place! Great video as always Thomas!
I know just where that is :) Fabulous! Visited and it tossed it down with rain, so heading back there soon!

Awesome mate, love all the info in the description.
I really like you work and your way to make these videos. Keep it coming!
Don't need to feel ashamed of prev video. It's amazing and very inspiring. Keep up the good work.
Not ashamed, just a little embarrassed. I'll get over it :)
Great job, Thomas! I really like where this is going. :-D
Thank you kindly.
Superb video Thomas, love how you put them together its like watching a documentary.
That's very kind, thank you.
Epic video. Really makes me miss the UK.

You are an inspiration. Keep it up.
your videos make me dream, am traveling with u , it may be couple of minutes but it frees me from my boring life, thx man
You're welcome. That is very kind of you to say. Thanks for watching.
I love the 'Less is More' Great as always and thank you fo the upload. Was starting to have withdrawals. Love your Videos
Thanks. Less is More is often a symptom of summer shooting conditions. It feels liberating to go out and shoot intimate landscapes, rather than the usual 'epic' scenes.
This is so good mate. You should have your own TV show.
great another video, kept me waiting
Brilliant! Very inspirational for someone just getting into some photography. Thanks :)
Great, that's good to know. Best of luck with your photography.
I totally understand about needing a change. I do a lot of lanscapes like yours of big vistas such as mountains, oceans and cliffs but it gets a little boring after a while. I'm now experimenting with old film lenses, astrophotography and macro work.
been waiting for another video - always a pleasure watching them!
keep it up :)
Great videos Thomas! Your videos have really inspired me to go out into the wild and photograph! Keep up the fantastic work and inspire us more! :)
Looking forward to the 2nd part, got to say a nice change from your other videos, Thomas almost back to the beginning its what drew me in at first, the mi of wild camping and photography, good stuff buddy. :)

Nice work with both the video and the photo.
Ooooh , Swanky `drone`, this could add more excitement...!!!!

Hi Thomas thanks for all the vids you have put up it has really inspired me to get my camping gear back out and take it with me just I case you know cause the older I get the heavier it seems to get so as a newbie to photography thanks
Amazing

Excellent vid again 👍😎
As always a very great video from you. Thanks a lot for that :)
Great video as always! Could you do a video on what you bring on a camping trip for photography? I can't find a system that works.
Nice work. I'm hoping when I move from NYC I'll be able to do more landscape stuff like this. Street work is starting to get old.
great! I'm new got here after your last inspirational video. love to see what you will produce.
Welcome :)
Somehow your content gets better each video!
Thomas, love your photography style. Would love to see you do some night shots as well! Take care
That vid was on point - loved the ending, a good new change up! Keep it going mate!
I felt in need of a change. Glad you like it.
I like how sunsets seem to last a long time up in the UK. I live in northern Mexico and sunsets last about one minute. Great videos! I have subscribed a while ago.
I know, the further north you go, the longer they last.
even your mishap is art.
Ha, I know. Pure luck.
about time you uploaded a new video .. YAAAY !! :D
I know, right. Wish I could do more.
What vango sleeping bag are you using? Also what is the weather rating it can handle, and how do you find it sleeping in the cold environment? Loving the work, keep it up!
I'm not sure of the exact model, but I shall look in to it. Sleeping in cold is not a problem, you just need good layers.
This guy does to many good videos. Does this mean I have to watch all of them? Guess so! :)
as always, a quality video, I really must get out and do a video myself, it's always so last minute as I have a large family and kids need feeding 😂 top job Thomas, well done 👍👍
Hi Tom, I have done a few of these types of trips and my biggest worry is always leaving my car in a remote car park on the side of a road over night, do you have the same concerns?
yessss another vid
Another great video dude...Out of interest, what tent do you take out with you on wild camps? Considering wild camps when spring arrives and interested in what people use..Many thanks
Andy
Not that your photography is bad, but I'm more impressed with the video and how it's put together. Super dope shots.
Did not know about those Lee lens caps. Ordered!
I know, I didn't either. They're great.
Hey Thomas. I'm a huge fan. Can you share some of the locations you visited in England. I cannot always seem to find a location. Ps Love your book!
Thanks for your time sharing your job process.
Maybe more pro tips for newjoiners to landscape photography?
Nice one. Cant beat the wild camping and getting some spectacular scenes. Going to maybe get myself a DSLR for filming and try some photography when I am out and about. I still struggle with weight and bulk. Really do need to rethink my entire system.

That walk with camera gear and camping gear looks a killer + you pack a drone. I'm done with a 6 kilo camera bag on a short walk haha
can you show us what is your setting and holong the exposer you shot
I rly like ur vlogs! Awesome!
Nice video pal, looks like hodge close quarry?
quick question, is it worth getting the zeiss 21mm lens if using an APS-H sensor

Hooked on to your videos since I discovered this channel a week ago or so. Have a question... what kind of research do you do before deciding to camp all alone ? Dangers in the wild ? Whether it is allowed to or not etc ?
Hit the like button before the advert even finished!
That's very trusting. Thanks.
Dude, you shouldn't be encouraging this. Creators rely on add revenues to help fund the next video.
samer younis I don't mind adverts because it means people like Thomas Heaton can keep bringing us awesome stuff!
mmm to be honest i never thought about it this way !! good to know .. sorry Thomas, i actually enjoy your channel and don't intend to harm you in any way.
