i'm honestly worried about her menta health. Like yes, she has the video of ''you are you and i am me'' and on cameras she doesn't feel affected. But off-camera?? When Jennie hate train started to happen, a big number of fans also thought she wasn't affected until Jisoo said that she heard her crying in her room. She might seem unfaced by all the comments in public, but it makes me genuinely worried how she is doing off-camera. Its true we shouldn't assume she is completely depressed, but i whink we also shouldn't assume that she might feel bad because of it. But overall, i'm happy she's proving all the haters wrong.
They have to put on a brave face for the public, regardless of how they actually feel. If you give the haters the satisfaction of confirming that they got to you, it usually makes things worse. It worries me especially since she went into all this at such a young age. I hope she's okay and has a good support system.
The curse of being an Idol. Always having to pretend that the hate doesn't affect you and eat it all up. I know more idols who are suffering from depression or worse than I can count. Since the fans aren't improving, companies really need to put more emphasis on mental health and hire professionals. :(
She may be not the most talented in singing or dancing, but she does show some talent. For example just look at some of the songs that she wrote. Also sure, her beauty is a reason for why people like to watch her on stage, but she also knows how to use her beauty to her advantage to make an engaging performance. She isn't just smiling.
Also, wonyoungism is a trendy aesthetic and #hashtag on social media. On Tictok wonyoungism was a part of the it girl/clean girl/self-care era where her visuals and one-liners became mainstream. Iconic.
To me, it's more because of her fans around me trying to push her down my throat. like, when asked who's my bias and I say Yujin and i explain because her style of dancing is my favorite, i like her type of beauty, she can make a variety of expressions when performing, and because she doesn't do too much aegyo, the fans of wonyoung would get angry for some reason, and get defensive arguing that wonyoung has those qualities too and that her aegyo is cute and suits her and other stuff to convince me that she's the best. like, i can see why she's popular but i'm allowed to have my own bias. i think they got triggered by the words "aegyo" and "a lot of facial expressions" and got on the defensive. i get that winks, cheek-puffing, and tongue-out sideways expressions make a lot of fans happy thus some idols overuse them, but cutesy style is just not for me. even when yujin does aegyo sometimes, it makes me cringe.
The way thoss aren't actually wonyoung fans but want more people to hate on her. I can see why Yujin is also your bias, shes the all rounder in the group
Not overrated, she more overacting things. She just needs to be natural and not to be a pick me girl. She's not the only pretty idol bcoz her beauty is not unique at all.
