Holy crap this is so good! Only minor suggestion would have been to maybe add a little bit of red or orange dry brushed on the underside of the dragon just to catch the 'reflected' light from the fire.
Also could be good to add a bit of pink to the skin of the wings to give the illusion of the light of the flame passing through them. It always makes light look brighter when you can see it interact like that
This looks really cool, I hope you do more Skyrim projects and I think Paarthurnax sitting on top of the Throat of the World would be a cool landscape. Also any part of Blackreach would look amazing as well.
Man this looks truly amazing. Only thing that would make this better would be a small mage that is getting attacked by him but is casting off the fire with a protective shield. Anyways love the content keep it coming
You know, I had thought about a tiny dragonborn with a wee shield, but I didn't want to draw any attention from Alduin. Also, and more importantly, I didn't want to have to sculpt a wee person...
Watching your videos is a form of stress relief for me. Work is stressing me out lately but these videos are funny, entertaining, and an enjoyable escape.
I recently started following you and I love your videos! So far I have only seen recent ones, but this one came up as a suggestion and I can't resist reptiles.. :D It's fun to see an older video because it really shows how much you have evolved your work, both voice overs, filming and editing, your sculpting have most likely gotten better as well but I'm not qualified to see that :D Good job!!
I know that this is a much older video, but honestly, it’s still one of my favorites. I just LOVE the way the dragon turned out and that fire is next level good. Because of you and this video, I started trying Cosclay, and you are right… it’s amazing. (Cosclay people, sponsor Adam… seriously!) Just wanted to boost this video a bit. Much crafty adoration from California!
So. So. So good. He’s beautiful. Wouldn’t change a thing. Whatever “is” or “isn’t” included or done to this particular sculpture is exactly what makes the piece what it is supposed to be. It’s perfect!
You are the most amazing sculptor. I took some sculpting classes in high school and believe me if my teacher was as good as you I would have gone further. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent. I have subscribed and definitely pressed like.
This is the first time I've seen Adams face.......the look of concentration on his face is majestic David Attenborough needs to narrate him narrating himself
OMG this is hands down the most sick Alduin I've seen, it's just perfect. As a big Skyrim fan, the dragon I got with the limited edition of the game instantly turned lame. Very very exceptional work!!
skdhfjd it's a little funny watching this video after so many of the newer ones because hearing you talk about cosclay and it being a New Thing for you is so funny considering how reliably it shows up
Yes. Thuri, jor (= Respect, mortal in dovah tongue). Alduin is very detailled. I love this game BTW. I think I should build statues like this more often. It makes nice decoration stuffs, trust me !
I would do some things differently. I would throw it in the trash at 5% in, knowing it's just gonna be a complete disaster if I'd continue, but you, you are an absolute genius. Holy crap are you good.
Absolutely beautiful work! I don’t know if it would detract but one thing I’ve always wanted to see in these builds is something that shows the scale...part of a house peeking out from the fire....
Dude I love watching your videos. You create the coolest stuff. I really want to start on my own project but at times seems overwhelming. Any advice on what someone would need to start making these awesome dioramas and booknooks?
Yes! First, pick something that is busy enough that you can obscure some of the detail for the tricky stuff, but still not too overwhelming in terms of adding every little detail. Diagon Alley (or something like that) is a great choice because it's busy but there aren't any obvious points of interest, so you don't need to focus all your attention and patience on perfecting one thing. Second, and most importantly by far, *finish your project*. This goes for literally every thing I've worked on. I can't tell you how many times I look at it halfway through and think 'oh my god, this is awful', only to have something really great at the end. If you give up on something you've gotten halfway through, it'll HAUNT YOUR DREAMS. More often than not, I find 'done' is better than 'perfect'.
Yes to the "finish your project" like Adam said! It's so easy to get discouraged when creating something and go 'this is terrible' halfway through, or even at the start of a project. It's the same with any type of artform in my opinion, like drawing for example. I can get so annoyed with how my sketch looks but then I start changing small things, use references if I find something tricky etc.. Best way is to just start and then keep going!
@@NorthoftheBorder Your sculpting is epic, and the tutorial side of it is really easy to follow. One day I'll try a bit of sculpting, no idea what yet ... but yeah, blown away man!

I've been bingeing my way through your amazing videos for the last couple of weeks Adam, it's really interesting to see how your presentation style has evolved over the last 3 years (also, a rare, sort of, face reveal in this one!). Fab work as always!
This is amazing! Great job. You make sculpting look easy, but as someone who has tried using Super Sculpey I can appreciate how talented you really are. Thanks for sharing.
I'm very happy I found this channel. I hope you made a video on what things you would need to start doing this. Inspiring me to do this. Looks fun and nice art to have around.
You did an amazing job! I use Cosclay as well, been using them since their launch on Kickstarter. Arnold the guy who makes Cosclay is a genius! I can't say enough good things about that clay. I will never use anything else. Thanks for sharing your awesome talent.

Really good idea.
Or, open a hole in the cotton behind the flame column and let the light reflect onto the sculpt.
Also could be good to add a bit of pink to the skin of the wings to give the illusion of the light of the flame passing through them. It always makes light look brighter when you can see it interact like that

All the north of the border videos I’ve watched I’ve never seen the face. But I knew there was a beard there. I could hear the beard.
