In 1973 I got a copy of First Blood written by David Morrell. I was about 13 years old and I stayed up for hours reading it cover to cover twice. It was so well written that you could see and feel what was happening . It actually is better than the movie eventhough I love the movie and I've seen it dozens of times. There is a scene in the book about this scene in the movie how Rambo gets hold of the razor and slices open the belly of a deputy and the poor deputy is trying to stuff a bunch of his small intestines back into his body. The book is hella graphic
Sylvester Stallone said it was his decision to not have Rambo kill any of the cops but to only injure them. He said that if he was that brutal to the cops that he would "Lose The Audience" and the moviegoers would turn on Rambo. He made a smart decision imo.
my hat's off it must a been amazing for you to have something so amazing is this all time greatest classic movie 🎥🍿 wow 😲 I was 7 when I saw this classic movie 🎥 at the drive-in theater you are amazing
Back when movies were movies not just 2 hours of CGI and 2 bit actors. My middle Son who's 23 doesn't watch movies made before the 2000's as he says they are old but like many things in this false world we now live in, the old ones are the best, better actors and real footage. This first blast for Stalone as John J Rambo is a classic.
This is easily my number 1 favorite Stallone movie. First Blood. I even have a clip of this movie on a T-shirt with a picture of Rambo holding the knife to Teasle's throat and says "don't push it or I'll give you a war you won't believe. Let it go". 👍👍
Good observation, my friend. Rambo was suffering from PTSD from his horrible experiences in Vietnam, and the horrible way that Sgt. Galt, & the other deputies were treating him suddenly brought them back up to the surface.
was at Princeton , when the road to Hope was blocked off for a movie shoot...the police cars still had the bubblegum dispencers on , and drove like the Smokey and the Bandit was following them
I did not know that. Nowadays they probably would have put hours of thought into how to avoid any injuries like that and might have used some sort of adapted air suspension in the driver's seat.
I grew up in that area, its so cool to see an action scene like this in the natural setting im used to. This looks cold and wet like november. They are actually rallying the shit out of their vehicles such a good movie
took me years to notice that Rambo cries at :58. Damn Stallone. I've heard that PTSD may not only be fear of what trauma has occurred to you; but also what trauma we have to potential to inflict.
Stallone and the directors sold that almost primal scream that John did as he’s flashing back to the prison camp. It was his last ditch attempt at survival in his head.
That cop wasn’t like most cops in movies at the time. He actually could handle his car and drove safely but was able to keep up with the bike for the most part.
I love this movie so much . Brian Dennehy.:- role is significant one.. a tough character... I like Brain Dennehy as much as I like Sylvester Stallone.. both have them action is super..... 🎉🎉🎉🎉
One of my favorite movies all time growing up, and im now glad to be living right near Hope B.C. where most of it was filmed...i like to walk through the town and viualize where each scene was filmed
All the time I was growing up, I used to hear about how cop cars would have special "cop brakes" and "cop suspension" and "cop engines" so they could out manoeuvre the criminals, and yet here we are, with a cop car that handles like a sack of cold porridge. On an ice rink...
It's so sad the way they treated to war heroes. Besides Rambo is based on a true story. He got out of line all right but he was pushed too hard. Don't forget all these soldiers returning from Vietnam were having psychological issues.
Just walking down the road when the Sheriff stopped John without reason, and forced him into his car transporting John out of town. I think that constitute a Felony.
don't get me wrong, I loved the movie, seen it dozens of times, including when it was in the theater and I was serving in the U.S. Army at the time. But going back and viewing this scene, which I've seen many times, it occurs to me how improbable this chase scene is. You ever been on a good dirt bike? With the lead he already had and the maneuverability, the cop car stood no chance of ever closing the gap on him like that. He'd have been long gone before that cop car ever started his engine. But it was a good chase scene 🙂
All Canadian RCMP cruisers back in the day where that blue and white.... All they did there was change the decal on the door.... Hope BC has sure changed from when that was filmed....
My uncle jack had a similar experience coming home from nam. He was killed in manner that made it look like suicide. The crooked Sheriff killed 80 men over a 20 year period. The truth did come out until the sheriff passed away.

very sorry to hear.
Easily the best of the Rambo movies.
It is by far 👍
It's the only one I ve watched multiple times! It's a classic!
Rambo First Blood is best movie of Rambo every times
Far fetched bs like James Bond LOL 😆 😂 🤣
I actually really like Rambo 4 2008... First blood is my second favorite though 😊
This is easily my number 1 favorite Stallone movie. First Blood. I even have a clip of this movie on a T-shirt with a picture of Rambo holding the knife to Teasle's throat and says "don't push it or I'll give you a war you won't believe. Let it go". 👍👍
STILL THE BEST RAMBO FILM EVER!!!
Nothing beats this original epic action thriller.
Beautiful film, a classic of the cinema.
Me and my family we will always wacth it as they transmitted it on tv.
Seems like Rambo suffered PTSD and the cruelty just bought those memories back.
Good observation, my friend. Rambo was suffering from PTSD from his horrible experiences in Vietnam, and the horrible way that Sgt. Galt, & the other deputies were treating him suddenly brought them back up to the surface.
Truly sad how people mistreat veterans.
One of the best films ever made
I got PTSD flashbacks just watching this back to my troubled times in the Army.

I love when Rambo busts through the front door and the music cues. Rambo has arrived ! So awesome.
was at Princeton , when the road to Hope was blocked off for a movie shoot...the police cars still had the bubblegum dispencers on , and drove like the Smokey and the Bandit was following them
That music is sick it makes you know that there gonna be more but it also feels like he is lost
some movies doesn't age well, but this is still a gem!
One of the best movie i ever shaw, when i was child...and i still love this movie.
The stunt driver who jumped the cop car over the railroad tracks broke his back doing that jump and kept going. They got the shot in one take.
I did not know that. Nowadays they probably would have put hours of thought into how to avoid any injuries like that and might have used some sort of adapted air suspension in the driver's seat.
@@jonathanparle8429 or they'd use some CGI crap right from the beginning, overdoing the shot ridiculously
Not after tripping police car was injured
Honestly, if I could meet one celebrity, it would be SS - absolutely brilliant director, producer, writer and actor. No one better.. ever.
Before RAMBO We never saw anything like him. A Vietnam vet who was a super elite killing machine. The last of his squad of elites! BRILLIANTLY DONE ✅
Once he escapes from the cops, there’s no stopping Rambo! Great movie.👍😀
The man just wanted something to eat
And they kept pushing him...
There wouldn’t be any trouble if it weren’t for that KSC. All I wanted was something to eat.
There was a diner,about 30 miles...

To me the funniest thing about all this is; literally all they had to do to avoid getting ass kicked all over their own county was LEAVE HIM ALONE!
Stallone and the directors sold that almost primal scream that John did as he’s flashing back to the prison camp. It was his last ditch attempt at survival in his head.
Not only great action BUT also an embodiment of what the PTSD process feels like. Fight or flight mode on tilt. Thats how you feel for real.
You know what I never noticed the inmate that was in his cell watching Rambo kick ass 😂 he had the best view in the house

Once Rambo envisioned the past enemy in the war, it was over for those cops.
Only Mitch is sensible man in this Police department.
I’ll give you a war you won’t believe - Stallone
That he did

r.i.p. brian dennehy & richard crenna.
Jesus, that LTD could take a beating!
1:58 - I shudder to think about how much furniture the sheriff broke when he fell.
I did all the stunts for this scene. Sly's my cousin, and that's how I got the job.
Yes, This movie really showed what the American police are, ruthless and sadistic.

Every kid back in day after watching this movie came out of the theater thinking he was rambo
I saw this at the drive in on first release with a slab of beer classic
That was the slowest I ever saw a kid ride a dirt bike. Still the best emotional breakdown performance by Stallone at the end of the film.

In my opinion this is the best film sly has ever been in. The rest of the Rambo franchise were garbage.
