- Cruisin through the streets of Asmara. This drive begins in Sembel (Enda Korea) Asmera, Eritrea and follows the Expo-Airport road, Tiravolo-Campo polo road, Fiat, Nyala Hotel and continues straight crossing Godona Harnet Ave and ending after Cinema Odeon. Left hand hold wheel, right hand hold video camera and driving through a beautiful city, priceless:-)

Me and my wife will visit Asmara for our honeymoon. We cancelled our trip to Thailand and Dubai. We both just got curious about Eritrea since long time ago. We read lot of books and got dream about Eritrea. And plus thanks to Teddy Afro we feel like it's our other homeland. See you Asmara soon
I have read good & bad comments concerning Asmara recently. I was a young 20 year old US GI stationed at Kagnew Station for only a short time because of the actions of my then wife. We lived at #32 Ghebremariam Street not too far from the back gate of Kagnew. I absolutely loved the town and the citizens of Asmara and wish I could take my wife of today back for a visit-I would like to think that the townspeople really haven't changed that much and that we would be safe. I've told her about the people, the architecture (and shown her pictures) and the food - I have really missed it all !
+Mike Austing If you are going to visit it is a very safe place, in fact safest place than some places in the US. The people are very friendly, hospitable. Best time to visit is from November till January. Make sure to go to Massawa & Keren. Good Luck!

Our colorful diverse culture and our beautiful people are inviting and very warm to be around. Unfortunately since our country is under the rule of a clueless unelected drug addict criminal (ISAYAS AFEWORKI) it seems it is frozen in time. The beauty regressed 100 years backwards, within the criminal regimes decaying 25 years, our country is converted into killing fields and concentration camp. As people we got deceived and betrayed by this criminal regime and it is impossible to find the trace of freedom, democracy, and it is one of the few countries with out constitution. That is why four to five thousand of our youngsters running away from our country into the dangerous future. I hope you will go and find out for yourself, since the criminal regime is starving for hard currency (American dollar they will treat you like royalty to squeeze every penny out of you but all your moves will be watched and every person you talk to will be interrogated afterwards.

It looks like a periferic borough of a southern italian city. The italian heritage in Asmare is impressive, escpecially in architecture, from governative to residential buildings.
That's beautiful. Asmara, Eritrea is way cleaner than Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. How do I know? Because I have been to Addis twice. I hope that many Eritrean who have left their country by the millions, more than any other people on earth, be able to visit Eritrea. My wife is Eritrean and I have seen first hand the hardship of the Eritrean exodus.

Cos nobody uses those roads in eritria. Asmara is modeled after Pyongyang. It's a govt / elite enclave. In Ukraine, Italy etc capital cities are used by general public.
Go outside Asmara and check out Eritrea lolol. When infrastructure is used by general public it will wear and tear way more than if it's used ONLY by govt elite

Asmera is so beautiful Addis may have tall buildings but Asmera have wide clean roads and beautiful beach life. But you guys need some more construction like Addis Ababa. And Addis should learn how to construct road like you.

I happened to be on Asmara on difficult times. Nevertheles on the video I could remember every nice place. The ART DECÓ Fiat. The square were a hand used to be. To the right there was a beautiful coffe shop. The big Bulevard... The classic cinema. The corner where I used to buy Newsweek. The central steet with the coffee shops......! The Cathedral. At the end of the Street the Travel Agency and the "Stadium". The people of course although it looks that there are fewer now. Hope you people and my friends are all well..

Its sad to see ASMARA BELLA looks like a rundown city, dirty and ghost looking city under the people we call liberators. What a waste of a quarter of a century. Isaias who ONLY cares about his power has no interest in seeing and developing Eritrea in general and Asmara in particular. He didn't even have a second thought when closing down the ONLY UNIVERSITY we had in the country making it the only cursed nation in the world without a university. By any standard Asmara was beautiful, clean and relatively well maintained even under the notorious Dergue regime. Lately ,Asmara Bella is also suffering with chronic water shortage and lack of electricity. When the Dergues were telling us that Shaebias were bandits (shiftas) ,we were mad, angry and sad without knowing that it was indeed true. Indeed shefatu who only cares about money and power. Gud rekiba Eritrea.
