I love the singers Angela Similea, Mihaela Mihai, Magda Ianculescu and the actors Florin Piersic or Tamara Buciuceanu. I think, that people who don't know still even one of these names schouldn't comment enything negative here. They do not have the right to say anything before taking care of their own education! Romania...printre cele mai frumoase tari din lume.Avem toate formele de relief...iesire la mare...avem o istorie care ne da sens noua,romanilor,...pacat ca in ultimul secol unii si-au batut joc de tot ce a fost construit in mii de ani
@derekutca 1340, Carol Robert de Anjou , (you know him, right?) was defeatet by Basarab .In 1331 , in an hungarian document is written that the battle took place "trans alpen Olachorum"...(i got last part from wikipedia, to be honest). The hungarians settled in Pannonia around 900 BC. So, in both cases, what happened? A bunch of ppl suddenly started to speak same language and they decide to create a country? Or , before that , in years languages started to transform
Da Romania! Asa mai merge! Romania is a beautiful country with special people and special places . It is full of love and beauty, ask anyone who visited it for some time.
I am born and bred English, I havent travelled a lot but I went to Romania the year before last with some friends. Its a great country, very individual, lots of surprises, and a welcoming friendly people. I would strongly recommend to anybody that they visit Romania, my favourites were: Dacias eating Mici (meech?) tuborg Bucharest dogs in the park the Danube eating crap (its a fish) chorba de pwy (chicken soup) horses and carts (romanian BMW) the people, theyre a really great M.
@Noroestate I am! Err... visiting Romania that is, not the bit about the millions! Although I would spend them if I had them! I'm planning to stay there for a few weeks. Since I work online I might as well do some travelling. Reseaching it at the moment and I'm gonna start learning some of the language soon.
An interesting, valid comment. The word Vlach has many Balkan meanings. Shepherd, cattle breeder, Italian, foreigner.... Basically, they all mean a Man from Wallachia. Wallachia was an area covering modern day Romania south of Transylvania, plus a large part of Bulgaria and Serbia. But we agree on the main point. Romania is taken from the word Rome. During my many trips to Romania, it is easy to see the different peoples living together. It is the most invaded country in world history.
@SuperAngelofglory Hello Angelo, thank you very much, I also wish you all the best! I think we need to leave the past beihnd us and and look forward to live in friendship. I was born in Budapest and came to Austria in the year 1980. My first friends were romanians who helpt me to stay here. These friendships are still going on. I also worked together with romanians for example in the theatre. It was a beautiful time. Great artists from whom I could learn a lot. And l like the language :-)

That's the statue of the dacian king Decebalus, and you can find it in Orsova, near to where the Danube enters Romania.
