A classic! The video And the paint job. I’m so glad you did this video, as soon as I saw it on the schedule I knew you couldn’t resist. I think Herbie wants to drift a little, but the balance is inconsistent, sometimes you get it, and sometimes you don’t. This series is getting better and better,with the addition of car classes this season as opposed to only one car. Well done IRacing, and well done DaveCam. A must watch for any IRacing fan!

Great stuff really, I ran a few practice laps and decided it would be great fun but not sure about the race situation. It would be very expensive in sRating. Good shout out to Jules too, I am a subscriber and truly enjoy all that Julie puts up, honest and open with no BS at all.

I saw the combo, thought to give it a try. Lasted 3 seconds before landing in the pit exit wall... 🤣 Beetle is really fun on dirt, but it is really tricky. Great race as usual!
Love it! I have been in the Subaru doing this combo 🎉. Feels fast but bouncy and no grip. I was used to it as I have done the Mt Washington climb time trial a few times.

I was in this race with you Dave, good to see you! (Only very far up the track 😢) started 18 finished 5th but I’m guilty of murder so wasn’t happy with myself

Thats my favourite cup on iracing, this beetle acclerated very fast and you dont realise how fast you are till you have to break... thank you dave for your racing content!!

Ah man, I was doing this race all day yesterday, we must have missed each other! I agree the car's insanely difficult to keep on track, it's so softly sprung that sometimes the brakes just aren't working and you'll slide off. The car really seems to respond to turning in early and coasting though, so I started to eventually get pretty decent laps, around a 7:05.

Any of the"hairpin" corners a quick yank of the handbrake just after initial turn in and it's super easy to drift the corners without losing momentum and is actually faster than keeping traction

If I had a nickel for every time I struggled to piece a clean lap together in practice, then come out of a Ringmeister race with only a couple of 1x's, I could afford another track.
How is the Oval racing going? Haven't seen a video on it in awhile! Dirt road would also be a cool series to watch you attempt!

You use the standard spotter, crewchief or DRE? Been using Dre for a while but the spotter is not doing it for me (a lot of the other functions do but not for that price).

I raced this combo last night. Started from the pits (P10 grid), finished 12th, on the lead lap, with only 3 incident points, but lost .30 Safety Rating. I don't know how that's possible???
Leave it to iRacing to turn Rallycross cars into a battle of who can push the tail the least. Dah well, still looks like a good challenge, just not as exciting as it could have been if iRacing allowed slip.
