- We have Shane Casey with us from Harley Heaven Adelaide helping us compare these two Harleys new vs old!
Shane has 10 plus years experience in the field and is the go to guy here in Adelaide for any serious motor builds. Shane is a certified Harley Master tech and not only builds his own and all of our bikes, he practices what he preaches as per Vlog 1!
This is a honest break down between the two and some super important information you need to know if you are wanting to buy either a dyna lrs or softail lrs.
Great review just ran into your channel now subscribed nice to see an Aussie channel with our passions. Up the twin cam Dyna 👍👍
@@danr919 thank you for the support! We are big dyna fans!
I have both and the softail just handles better with no motor swinging around in the frame.. way better.
@@marvelharris9540 yea for sure, Harley have definitely improved a lot on the new low s
Love both bikes guys, great vid!
@@RyandKyHarleyGuys thanks legend really appreciate it! More vids coming asap!
Enjoyed the video. I am looking forward to the M8 breakdown video.
@@geoffreyilgenfritz5908 coming either this weekend or the next!
Great vid guys, keep em coming.
@@thesoftailstable thanks mate will do 🔥
Subbed, so good having Aussies bike channel. I just got my bike licence 3 months ago. I can't wait to get an HD or maybe Indian. In the meantime, I got my LAMS approved Vstar.
@@DB-ne8xc hey man thank you for the feedback! Really appreciate it! We will drop a heap more content hopefully help you out with that decision!
I’d love to try out a new soft tail m8, I can’t wrap my head around the fact a soft tail could ever be better than dyna.. I come from the early twin cam world where the soft tail is usually considered the worst bike for any type of aggressive riding!
@@codystrom8708 yea they definitely have changed, you should get down to your local dealer and take one for a test ride and see what you think
The older softails are different in design in a couple ways, the frame is different and the placement of not two but one shock. The shock is under the seat running from the top back of frame to the very top of swingarm. The old ones have them directly underneath the frame on bottom running to the front of swingarm. The difference in handling is highly noticeable. Especially when you put a better suspension on the new m8! Mine is raised up in the front and back and aggressive riding is most definitely not an issue. It's worth a test ride and for sure a purchase!! 🤘
@@spoom937 both great bikes but we think if money is there the m8 is the go
I almost bought a 2016 lowrider s. I waited until the M8 lowrider s came out. The single mono shock under the seat is the ticket. I ride a 2022 lowrider st. Came off of a roadglide, no regrets love the st. I hated the old softails with the 1.5 suspension travel under transmission they ride like crap
The dyna has more character, muscle car vibes. Yes the softail handles better
@@ricardokenneth5792 definitely Dyna has a lot more character 🤟🏼
what pipes on the softtail?
@@jive687 spb fab
The sound of a stock M8 doesn’t sound like a Harley at all. That’s the main reason Im looking for a ‘16 twin cam dyna
Everyone to their own, defiantly a common comment said. the new m8's do need some modifications to make them have some character
Good vid...I"m at that point now, weather to keep modifying my Dyna or just switch to the M8 platform.. PS. Love my Dyna
@@dancole909 definitely is a hard choice to make
If its a DLRS..... Build the DLRS....
Awesome video! What is the total cost of each of these builds?
@@bertkanan2176 cheers mate, Shane’s retail if you were to buy it new and do it would be looking around the 50k aud mark , James definitely on the cheaper side you could pick one up around the 22 to 25k mark and put abit in then you’d be looking around the 30 to 35k aud if you were to build his
Pretty good comparison vid 👌 im in the process now on my 20 fxlrs to throw a cam in i cant wait to see how it goes , ps: ive had dynas just fell inlove with the softtail purely from the price per dollar for power.
@@bradleydixon-ss2tp awesome mate good stuff 🤟🏼
Great watch. both are great platforms that respond well to fruiting lol
@@joelvasilakis8082 everyone loves fruit
Great Aussie content guys! I actually got rid of my softail streetbob for a dyna low rider s. The new bikes are great, but I didn’t buy a Harley to own a refined motorcycle.
@@Dyna-mite154 hey mate! Thank you we appreciate the feedback :) owning a dyna love to hear it! Definitely having a dyna comes with a lot of character and they are super cool bikes!
@@Livinvtwin thanks mate! To each their own. My Dyna actually came over from Adelaide aswell haha
@@Dyna-mite154 much done to yours motor wise?
@@Livinvtwin 117” kit, tbh 2-1, s&s air cleaner set up is about it
f you're looking for a more laid-back, urban cruiser with a unique hardtail design, the Dyna TC Low Rider might be the way to go.
If you prioritize comfort, power, and modern amenities for long-distance touring, the Softail M8 Low Rider might be your better bet.
i think i agree with you on this one!
both defiantly have there good points
Picking up a stage 4 23 model at the end of September! Can’t fucken wait! Wish TH-cam would allow for links so I could post some pics, it’s a beast not one part of this bike is stock. Torque is where the fun is and the reason I bought it,
@@D-doggy77 awesome mate good stuff
