Thanks for the props to Serrano v Taylor. Women's boxing is boxing. And it doesn't get its due. That fight was fought with incredible perseverance by two of the best in women's boxing on a global stage watched by tens of millions. Serrano won in my opinion but hard to complain since Taylor fought like a Tasmanian Devil. More like this no matter who is competing.
Teddy II & Teddy III is a welcomed pairing for the podcast. Seeing their chemistry is refreshing, Teddy III’s questions to his dad are brilliant and his knowledge of boxing/sports is vast; a chip off the ol’ block. Tbh Ken’s uncalled for, random political commentary / acting like a yutz because his preference won was incredibly off-putting, good luck to him though.
Absolutely correct , the Serrano / Taylor fight saved the Jake Paul / Mike Tyson debacle. I’m glad I tuned in to see the fight between those two warriors.

Fight of the year, and the other 2 fights Bivol v Beterbiev, Virgil Ortiz v Bohuchuk all 3 fights, again judges scorecards dividing opinions, after virtually every show scorecards are grabbing more attention than the fight. It’s happening more and more in the Saudi shows now.

I liked Ken a lot, but Teddy III is good. I hope he keeps it up. Ken realistically wasn't able to devote much time to the podcast, raising children and being a long distance running champion, not to mention work. He ran out of steam after the first year, so it just became a response to the latest fights rather than the more varied show in the beginning, with superb historical shows. The historical commentary makes the best use of Teddy Atlas's talents because he teaches about greatness. Hopefully Teddy III brings out the best in Teddy like Ken did when he had the time.

Also to choose Carace vs Mungia as upset of the year...i would say Dubois vs Joshua has to be it, the delivery of that KO shot just as it looked like the script was being re-written as intended. Mungia vs Carace came just after Mungia already suffered his loss this year, not surging the way Joshua was.
Trainer of the year should be bomac mackintire and Don chales. Bomac been incredible with Crawford 147 to 154, to possibly 168 with canelo. Keyshawn davis at 135 and Lester martinez at 168 close to title conversation. He's 1 hell of a trainer.
I think a prospect graduates to contender once he has at least 1 win over a known/ranked/proven guy or veteran. So I think this is the last year where Itauma could be considered a prospect as I assume next year he will step up in competition. Great picks.
For me SURACE for ko of the year, he was literally the smaller man from lower 160 division, although been at 168 before but not consistently. Not known for power but set up shut with a beauty footwork and presence and throw with elite technique. That was all she wrote unranked and on foreign territory. Should I go on? Just a pure hidden gem 💎 of a fighter.

for prospect of the year, why don't draw the line down to fighters with less than 2 years of pro career or 4 pro fights at most? that way we don't take age into consideration (people could find love for boxing late in their lives, but that is not directly related with sheer talent) Just my 2 cents, I think this would be a good approximation to what a prospect boxer should be for analysis.
Dubois's KO of Joshua was the KO of the year, Wembley stadium, against the flow of combat just as Joshua was having a moment, no contest...yes Joshua was not out cold, but the way he dropped and tried to get up...as if you can say that Tyson's KO of Berbick loses in a KO of the year competition with a lower level fight because Berbick didn't sleep 🤔
