Hey guys, super excited to finally share this one with you. GETTING THE FEEL SRV's style is truly one-of-a-kind. It's hard to replicate - just take your time to feel the groove. He probably plays a little more behind the beat than I do. Check out his original recording if you want to go deeper on getting a feel for it. Practise this one slowed down to get a hang of the nuances that are in there. AMAZING GROOVE The bass and drums are often overlooked here, but it's crucial to the song. The groove is so tight in this recording. TAILPIECE This song is a little easier if you have a tailpiece on the bridge - maybe not upside down.
As always, an amazing and flawless video. Thank you 🎸😎 Two questions: 1. May I ask what your hand size is? From Pinky to thumb? 2. What gauge are the strings?
What truly sets this guitarist apart is not only his skill and expertise but also his exceptional ability to recreate a sound that is strikingly similar to the original. A truly remarkable achievement.
Thank you! I really appreciate that. Should it be of interest, all tones and effects are created using software called Amplitube Max. This software contains many virtual amps and pedals. The plug-ins are available to all my Patreon subscribers so you that if you have Amplitube Max yourself, you can get exactly the same tone as me at home. I also offer screenshots of the virtual amps and pedals so that if you don’t have Amplitube you can attempt to replicate the tone using whatever equipment you have available. Holy crap, I decided to learn this song two days ago and was frustrated to see that you didn't cover this one. But now my wish is fulfilled. 🙏 Thank you for your amazing work. Your videos helped me improve so much. If you can do more SRV I think we'd all be happy. 🥰 Take care.
Wow that was perfect. You sounded just like him. It's been over 30 years since he's left us and I miss him so much. I don't think I'll ever get over it. Thanks for doing this, it was awesome.
Incredible how this tab and playing is so detailed. It even has the ghost note on the main phrase, just great! Best guitar tabs channek on TH-cam for sure
Started learning this tune 2 days ago after a friend sent me the link. Thanks so much Mr. Tabs for posting this. I can't read music but I'm learning new chords and new tunes. Cheers😂🎸✌️
Never in a millions or in my lifetime I thought I'd see the day that someone would not only cover this note for note but also provide the tab and tutorial all at once!!! You've made every SRV wannabe's dreams come true. Miracles do happen. Merry Christmas Forever!!!
Mr. Tabs you outdid yourself, really! You can try to tell us poor mortals how to get a sound close to the one you use (even if we know that 90% of the sound is in the hands of the performer). Thank you!

SRV wrote this song for his wife Lenora. Lenny was her nickname. You can hear the love he felt for his wife while he played this. Sublime piece I feel this was what separated him from his contemporaries. Such a amazing musician that was lost way too soon. Mr. Tabs great work here you really captured the emotion and sound. You are very talented as well Ive learned so much from you.
That was me! A cheer and a whistle at the same time. Always felt that lick at that point in the piece needed a reaction from somebody in a smokey club 🤘
I had to be a stickler and complain about a missed note. Sorry bud. I learned Money for nothin' from your video. Its the best video I've seen. Its the hardest riff to play properly in Rock. Im not certain Ive seen anyone Tab that first chord properly. I learned it from Guitar World years ago and they got it wrong as well. Ive seen Em Macambo so kamy times I wore out my VHS tape and had to buy a second one. I lived SRV for 10 years. Hes 100% playing Emaj13/B. 7x6899...
Studio track sounds different than the live version to my ears. I’m not hearing him play the low B in the intro and the bassist covers it throughout the song.

Mr Tabs… out of all the videos youve done.. this one brought tears..was perfect… and can feel the emotion that Stevie put into the original recording.. I dont want to learn ..only listen and appreciate because it was phenominal…thank you for sharing this to us all…
great job! back when SRV died, i played this song ( from his first album) on a tape i had and couldn't help choking up when listening to it. it is a powerful tune.
Awesome. Great choice to get on the channel, surprised this one didn't come much sooner being such a classic instrumental. As always, great job nailing the tone as much as the tab.
This is my favorite SRV song, his playing and writing was so exceptional on this. I loved his version on “Live, at the El Mocambo” in Toronto Canada, I was there that night as a young buck 😉😊
My goodness... I 'learned' the first few minutes of this song years back, but grew weary due to my lack of skill and ability. What a treat to hear it played this well. Just may pick up where i left off and continue to underwhelm ;)
Great tab! Your work has helped me fall back in love with playing the electric guitar again. I would love to see Eric Clapton's "Lay Down Sally" in a future video from you!
Thank you so much. You’re pretty much my de facto source for learning new songs. When I see a Mr Tabs cover I know it is going to be properly done and transcripted. Thanks again for improving my guitar playing over the years. 🫡
Sounds amazing, but should definitely let people know your guitar is tuned to E flat. Some people may not understand why it’s not sounding right to the recording…
thank you, was waiting for this one!!! consistently great videos. my go to for note for note learning. would love to hear your spin on dirty pool or Texas Flood!
