Boxing is a natural sport-all cultures have a form of this. It teaches good values-hard work, discipline and is great exercise. It also builds character and confidence. I think hating on boxing is similar to hating on Chess, or Go, or UFC, or even pool or bowling for that matter. These are one on one, competitive sports/games which play a big role in civilization.
There are rarely rule changes over time, but allowing men into women's leagues is extreme. It was also forced onto participants who've dedicated their lives to the old ruleset.
Breaking the rules of a game is cheating, but what about changing the rules, forcefully and drastically, so your side wins? Isn't that cheating too?
It's dishonest, it's ruining the lives of otherwise truly great people, and not liking the game shouldn't protect perpetrators from denouncement.

Boxing is a great way to give people who have to beat other people up an outlet.
Boxing is voluntary. It is one of the few martial arts that assumes you will have full force while training.
I don't watch it or do it, but I respect the people who do.
Well, about 30 years ago a cable channel started showing the light weight fights. They are a lot more interesting than the heavyweight fights. The important difference is that the lightweights can't really hurt each other much so the boxers can concentrate on getting their punches in rather than not getting hit by the opponent.
There have been heavyweight boxers that retired with their wits intact. In fact most champs so do.
