    This video is massively underrated! First of all, the sound of your R34 is insanely good!🤩
    Secondly, the sound you captured might be one of the cleanest one I’ve ever heard. And now I know what I need and how to do that as well!! Thanks a lot!

    Your exhaust and turbo sounds are extremely clean.. did you clean them up using something like Audacity to achieve that?

      Negative, they're just straight out of the recorder.

    Well shown buddy. How do you tend to hide the mic setup when fiming? Do you shoot with mic setup for sound alone and then rollers to combine in post or some other way around?

      Some cars you can hide it but 9 times out of 10 I do film seperate I usual record the audio while I film interior shots

    I've never heard of XLR mics before. I have a zoom h2n and it only has 3.5 mm mic input. Currently using a mono lavalier 3.5 mic . I have the microphone mounted right between both quad exhaust tips on my E46 M3 and I also have foam around the microphone as well to keep wind noise down.
    Car is currently turbocharged with no catalytic converters. Only running about 11 PSI, 530 whp.
    Everything sounds good. Up until about 6 or 7,000 RPMs and above and I don't know what's happening but the audio just starts screeching allowed screeching noise until the exhaust gets quiet again.
    I can't tell if it's clipping or what
    The zoom h2n only has one gain dial from to 10 And I've tried leaving it at zero and it still does it. I've tried moving the mic but it doesn't pick up the beautiful exhaust sound. Instead it just picks up more wind noise or some other sounds
    I'm wondering if maybe I'm hitting a limit of the diaphragm on the 3.5 mm lav mic like you you mentioned.
    Wondering if there's any other alternative besides selling my audio recorder and upgrading to a better one that accepts XLR to get a larger diaphragm mic like you mentioned.

      I’d say most likely the audio is clipping, if you have a joiner in your cable it could be that moving slightly to make that noise (unlikely). Your E46 sounds mean! 😈

    rode m5 alternatives?

    • @thejonesyexpress
      @thejonesyexpress  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can use LAV mics or Rode Wireless Pro others use but they won't work as well for loud cars

    Unable to find the windscreen you listed. What’s s alternative? Or any is pretty good

    • @thejonesyexpress
      @thejonesyexpress  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s called a Rode WS8, if you can’t slice it you could get one for a direction mic and twin it but it might not have a right fitment so you will have to zip tie it

    Which suction cup did you use for the mics?

      I just got some from JB HI FI but you can get cheaper ones off places like Etsy, etc. Just depends if you want to wait around for them to arrive or not.
