This is GREAT! I wish I saw this video before I separated my sleeves on my advent sweater, but I will definitely be using this technique on future sweaters. My friend gifted me a cord for the body of my sweater but I need to buy one for the sleeves and the small pieces for picking up stitches. Saving this in my watchlist for future knits! Thank you❤
That is so clever. Two questions what is the smallest needle size you use, I use 2.5mm for socks. Also, when you do the provisional or Judy’s magic cast on, it looks like the stitches on the cord might be very tight to knit through especially since your knitting needle was thicker than the cord. Thanks for making this video and sharing your tricks!
Is there a way to put end/begin row sts on the cord to pick up later? For instance for a cardigan? So you wiuld have two cords on each side with live stitches on barber cord...
I have just started knitting after 30 years, and cannot master picking up stitches. When I cast off stitches for a decreasing neckline on a sweater could I move them directly onto this cord? And carry them upward to the shoulder edge. My eyesight isn’t that good and I REALLY dislike picking up these stitches as I only use patterns using top down or circular needles - which fit me the best. Your thoughts are so appreciated! Glad it was helpful

I go as small as a 2mm. Once the stitches are that small, you would not be able to use the cords

You can absolutely do this. I will try to video it this week.

You can, but I recommend you count them and increase as necessary before working with those stitches
Where can I purchase barber cord on spools, please?
