She’s a beautiful bag!
I have vintage Chanel bags came with original care booklets. According to the booklets, the hardwares are gilded with an alloy containing 24k gold.
The plating is not 24 karat gold as often misrepresented by many TH-cam videos.
From the color of gold coating, I would guess, it’s about 18K.
Since it’s not pure gold, other metals in the alloy will oxidize.
The instructions in the booklet indicate not to expose to salty air.
I would also include, avoid alcohol in hand sanitizer.

It is beautiful. I would put bubble wrap and charcoal sachet to help take away the smell.
