In this video, I share the 12 criteria that I considered when searching for my preloved vintage Chanel bag! Do let me know if I’ve missed anything! What do you look for when shopping preloved? Do you even shop preloved or do you only buy direct from the boutiques? I’d love to know! 👇
I think this bag is my favorite in your collection. It’s such a beautiful example of a classic done well and aged well. She’s lived a life and still looks chic ❤
Compared with other handbags, carrying such a bag is more cost-effective and more comfortable, and you won’t have to worry too much about theft or other accidents when traveling.
Love vintage Chanel. I recently bought a 1996 Classic with the 24k gold hardware. I'm a silver hardware lover, but in the vintage Chanel, as bright as the gold is, is a beauty bag. I've got my eye on another 2008 vintage Chanel in navy/dark blue. Unfortunately, it does not come with authenticity card. But it does come with the pre-loved seller's guarantee of authenticity. And, the bag is a jumbo, which might be too large for my 5'4" thin frame. I stare at the online photos, debating. . .hmm I can return the bag, so maybe I should be adventurous and buy it. The newer classics are very pretty, but for some reason I just haven't bought one. Now, of course, the prices are too insane. As always, thanks for your videos.
Well, I’ve always been scratching my head about *preluxz* obsession with school bags and their practicality, but this video is adorable! Congratulations.
Great video Hanna! Thank you for the shoutout 🙏🏼🥰. So Gerry at Leather Surgeons calls it replacing the “stays” to repair the structure😊. Also…I would add to your list when shopping for vintage: ask if the bag has been touched up or redyed, as this will change the integrity of the leather and will also decrease the value a little. ❤
Hello. Thank you for an in depth video on what to look out for when purchasing vintage . Your preloved classic Chanel flap is in immaculate condition. Gorgeous bag!
Odors are a dealbreaker for me. I have asthma, so if I receive a bag that smells like perfume, cigarettes, or musty, it's going back. Thanks for the helpful video!
Thanks for your tips, super helpful. I just purchased my first preloved bag and your videos were super helpful including the cleaning videos. I purchased a couple of the handbag spa items - so thank you for those reviews too! 😊
I learnt from a seller who sourced from Japan that lambskin in series 5-8 is thicker, and SHW is hard to find. U have a rare beauty, must keep it:-)❤ I just got myself a 24k gold in 6 series! 😊
I have never bought a preloved bag, because I find the condition description not clear enough, and I can’t see it from the pictures. For example, what does it mean ‘general signs of wear,’ ‘edge wear,’ ‘ some creasing,’ ‘light corner wear.’ Generally, there are no arrows pointing these problems, so it’s impossible for a non expert to understand the magnitude of the issues and therefore the condition. Can you please suggest how to interpret such descriptions? Thanks for a great video 🌷
It’s true, it’s not the easiest to go by online descriptions so I typically zoom into every corner of the photos posted and really go in! The photos will show most of the condition details. If you’re buying from an individual reseller like the ones I mentioned in the video, you can always ask for more photos or even videos. They’re usually happy to send them along.
Speaking of odor, I have gotten multiple bags from FP that reeds of bad and very strong perfume, across a few years. The first time I thought maybe just what the previous owner used that's not to my liking and should go away, I didn't think much into it. Fast forward 2 years, I got another bag that smelled the exact same! Not sure I just happened to have the same taste with some luxury lover or something up with their warehouse.😅
@@hellocatwalkcityDon’t think it would be funny. Would be very disappointing. And if I bought from a seller and the bag smelled I would not buy from this seller again.
It seems, generally speaking, that classic flap bags, in good condition are basically the same price as in the boutique. I mean, they're not reduced enough, to me, to be worth going the pre-loved route. It's just not enough in savings.
Unless it’s a very unique seasonal color, you’ll typically save thousands off the retail price going the preloved route. Current retail for this bag is over $10k now keep in mind.
It’s definitely a hunt! It took me quite some time to find one I really thought was perfect for me! Lots of late nights scrolling online and zooming into hundreds of photos. 😂

Aw thank you!
I’m definitely not purchasing straight from the boutique anymore so this video is very helpful 🙏🏻

That bag of yours is a stunner 😮
Thank you!
Are you familiar with What Goes Around Comes Around in NYC? Wondering if they are reputable?
The wine colored chanel mirror goes well with this bag.
💯

Eww !! Imagine that, thought? You may be buying items from the same seller over and over! 😂 So funny!

This is a great video! It's very intimidating for me when looking at vintage bags but this helps A LOT
Great informative video!! Tysm 😊
Great video! Thank you ❤

What camera do you use??
I just use my iPhone. 😂

So glad!
I, too, am a leather sniffer 😅
Yay, join the club! 😂
It’s so difficult to find one to my liking 😬
