Mystery Mondays are fun to watch. The fact that you seem to have many bottles that span the globe would make Mystery Mondays near impossible to guess. But that’s the fun in it.
Wow this episode had so much, but mostly:
- Dustin's best outfit (I need to know where to buy that NASA hoodie and hat hat)
- We finally learned how to spell Kalyn's name

Hey I'm in MN too.. jus tried some Douglas and Todd, thought it tasted like dirt.. But I also tried some J carver from Waconia and Little round still out of Wadena and thought those were pretty good.
Remus gatsby is some of my favorite bourbon. Love it

Yes, I struggle with high priced bourbons and whether they are worth it or not. World whiskeys tend to have so much more character and worthy of higher prices. Cheers and another great episode!

The bottle and the packaging are pure Art Deco to reflect the style of the roaring twenties era that inspired the Great Gatsby.

I agree with you, Kalyn 😀, about spending that much on a bottle that I don't even know if I would enjoy or even like it. So far my most expensive gamble was Redbreast 12 year which I ended up liking. I have also started using a variation of your Drive By© by leaving my mouth slightly open as I breathe it in. It helped me get past the heavy burn that I normally get and I was finally able to smell vanilla in one of my whiskeys. Thank you for finally clarifying your name also. It just always bothers me when I can't say (or spell in this case) someones name correctly although I understand why you didn't. Sláinte!
Which Paul John bottles are on the shelf just behind you? I have a few different bottles of Paul John and they make some amazing whisky.
I had deerskin gloves as a kid in Indiana and came in from many a snowball fight and had to take the leather off my frozen fingers with my teeth. Never knew I'd need that flavor note as an adult.
I relate to chewing on a leather purse; but for me it was the leather string on a baseball glove back in the day.
The dog pop-ups remind me of the "Toasty!" guy easter egg in Mortal Kombat 2.

Sometimes we whisky fans just have to splash the cash and be dammed with the cost/value proposition. Life is too short to always buy the best value whisky. If you are looking for a good example of a whisky that I highly recommend but can’t substantiate the price: Glenmorangie Signet. Wonderful whisky - hopelessly overpriced 😊

Hot buttered wood sounds extremely painful. Hydrometer - I think is what you were reaching for but unfortunately they don't come in leather as far as I know..woohoo..roll on Fried Egg Friday!
I won't ever knock ya for not knowing that was a bourbon. You just kind of figure they are gonna make it funky old sport lol😮 WOW what a bottle would love that one. I had just a normal Remus Reserve and it was pretty great. Old MGP is always a hit

I agree with KALYN about Gatsby being overpriced for what it is. I as well prefer flavor bombs and don’t find overly nuanced pours being my preference either.
I do find it strange that her parents spelled her name in all caps like that tho 🤷🏻♂️🤣

Consider yourself DEFINED! JK. Actually, it’s a helpful review. This just confirms that older and more expensive does not mean it’ll be better. I feel like 9 to 12 yrs is the sweet spot for bourbon.
I wonder if a German tasting this would say it tasted like Lederhosen?
Kalyn - gotta be 26-28. Feel like every girl born around then was named something ending YN around then. Tons of Madalyn's and such.

This means that her facial structure has retained many youthful features such as large, light-colored eyes, rosy cheeks, s small nose, smooth skin, full lips, etc. This may sound creepy, but in various international studies, men the world over find women with neotenic features to be the most attractive. Interestingly, Dustin exhibits many neotenic features as well. One study you can reference is called: "Sexual Selection, Physical Attractiveness, and Facial Neoteny: Cross-cultural Evidence and Implications". Sorry for nerding out but biology, physiology and anatomy are my jam.
