Oh those old clorox caps get my heart goin everytime. Congratulations on your first silver of 2020. I never thought id be ahead of JD in the silver count. The wet summer has helped me too as I just pulled a bucket lister myself. Didn't have my phone on me as I was raining and im kicking myself for not filming it. Good to see you out hunting again my friend
Yeah, especially when you slice the edge and it looks silver. Haha. What was your bucket lister? Too bad you didn't get to film it! You should still show it at the end of one of your videos real quick. I'd love to see a few of the goodies you've been finding.
@@JDsVarietyChannel i found my oldest military button so far in 4 years of detecting. War of 1812 Navy button. When i pulled it, it was completely crusted, couldnt even hardly tell it was a button till i took a brush to it.
@@JDsVarietyChannel never thought id find something like that so far inland in SC. Reminded me of the time you found that KG in that field. Hard to find stuff in certain areas
I enjoyed your metal detecting videos years ago ... watched a good many of them before diving into the hobby myself. I would’ve never imagined back then that I’d now have my own detecting channel and that this would’ve become such a big part of my life. Was glad to see you at it again and I thank you for all of the hours of entertainment and inspiration those years ago. 👍⚒😎🎧
Back in the game! Wonderful to see you out with Jerry detecting! Congrats on the silver. So many wheats. Great Seals button in good shape too. You guys had a great day. See you soon!
I finally got a metal detector! You were one of the first metal detecting channels I found, introducing me to the hobby, and I want to thank you. Haven't found anything interesting yet but it sure has been fun so far!
The soil here is western NY does the same thing to copper and I NEVER find nickles that are recognizable if there are not silver. I enjoyed the upload JD!
There is not a dought in my mind , that everyone watching is happy to see you happy ; Do whatever is right for you , God and all your friends want only what's best for you .Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us .
Congrats on getting on board with silver. Good feeling for sure. Your best year is somewhat better than mine with 246 coins in 2018. Might be the only year I cracked 200. Last year was close with 189 I think. This year at 131. Would need great public spot or 2 and lots of time. You can still get to 25 probably this year. Good luck and hh, Sebastian
Carry a bottle of water with you so you can rinse it as you find it and give your viewers a little more excitement js No one can even tell what you found but a round rust coin we can't tell what it is until fully rinsed off CMON MAN we would like to see it cleaned and what year it is if possible!!!
It would be awesome if it will the 1943 copper cent. It would matter what condition that it was in as long as you can see the date and it was copper, it would be worth hundreds of thousands if not millions.
Haha. No worries. If it helps any, I think what qualifies as a view on the ads is if you watch for at least 15 seconds. Not that I care, but some people think you have to watch the whole thing. When I watch friends or content I appreciate I try to remember to let them roll at least 15 seconds.
Sil-VER! Yipee... Love all those beautiful trees around your new place, JD - looks very relaxing - and I think you were enjoying your school hunts... Have a great day. 😎🦘🐾👍
You should get you a little spray bottle and put a little bit of dawn in it so you can clean it up and not rub it with your glove and that dirt. Love you videos keep up the good work
Ha, the 'Cruel Summer' instrumental tune with the scratching wild turkeys was MUAH!! You're becoming quite the production pro! I'm so glad your hiatus gave you clarity about not needing to be a slave to your audience, but not completely turning away from doing these videos either, because the way you do them is unique and thoroughly enjoyable. I love how you describe locations, why you chose them, what history you know about them, and other neat stuff like the wildlife. Also how you show some of your disappointing digs. The other guys' videos create an unrealistic sense of what to expect in this hobby. Yeah it's inspiring to see great targets one after another, but when I find trash items one after another, it can feel like I must be doing it wrong, and want to give up. You show that even experienced detectorists find plenty of junk, and that keeps me from getting too frustrated. I'm still using that Garrett detector you sold me btw!!
“Wow” Great digging for both of you, I like older coin’s and of course the nice relics! I like when you dig at schools! On your first shot you need more of a follow through, second shot you nail it great job! Awesome video JD thanks!!!
Hey JD so glad to see you out again :) love the turkeys in your yard . We have had the heat, the lightning storms then today we have storm Ellen apparently with just a few gusts of winds lol nothing like a storms we had before lockdown. i always love your 1943 coins My Late Father was born then and my Mum 1942 :) I am on 5 silvers for this year.Haha JD the basket ball for subs was so funny i remember my son breaking his little finger on one
Hey Chris. I've found 2 large cents. Still can't find a fatty indian, 2 cent, or 3 cent. At least I got to see you pull that silver trime out from the cabin. That was amazing!
JD's Variety Channel ahh I swore you were still after the largie must have been thinking of the two cent. Any day with a button is A good day of it! Glad you got out!
JD, While I am watching your video, I would like to ask you a favor. You have always supported my channel so...I'd like to ask you to check out a detecting channel of one of my digging buddies who is genuinely a great guy "PARK RAT METAL DETECTING" Pat doesn't always find old stuff or valuable treasures, but his joy and enthusiasm with EVERY SINGLE item he digs has earned him a very loyal following just for his positive life outlook, and many of his videos get more views then mine, even when we dig a bunch of silvers! He is at 981 subs, and my goal today is to push him over the 1000 mark! Thank you for your time. ATB Rob
Come on John, give Jerry a little better credit for his finds. The 1915 D is a semi-key. Man you seem very solo and Jerry seems to be a good person. There's nothing wrong with having friends to hunt with.
Now that’s what I’m talking about......an old school JD metal detecting video!!! Great job, keep up the great work!
LOL, 'old school' having double meaning in this case.
So very glad you got your groove back!

I love these videos☮❤
Great digs JD ! Glad to see ya back out diggin. Some nice old public property, still giving the goodies. All the best. HH. JOE.
Thanks Joe! That was surprising for public property in Tennessee. Shows it's worth trying any spot at least once. I hope all is well with you. :)

In the late 1950's there was a tv western series called Yancy Derringer. Toy derringers were a must have for any young boy growing up in that era.
What kind of metal detector do you use
Some great looking old wheaties Jon. A very nice great seal button to add to your collection too
I love this channel and the idea of metal detecting
Thanks Ryan!
Always love your videos, thank you.
Thanks Zach!
Thanks for another awesome adventure !

"Wooo! 44, ladies! That's me."
Nice hunt man! Great finds! GL&HH
I've seen ppl carry a small spray bottle to get dirt off. Would you be able to carry one? Maybe it'll help, instead of rubbing it?
We've been tellin him for years lol

That odd piece you found is from a storm window or door. It’s part of the latch that holds the window up when open it.
Just a quick hello from michigam.
Are you feeling any effects from the storm?
Nice scores, hope you can get the dates.
The one corroded wheat penny was 1956-D.
What town was the school in J.D.?
Amen.
What do you say to people when you cold call them about searching their property?
I'd say fall not as hot on you. Turkeys not scared.nice find

Need a little spray bottle of water!!!! You could see so much with so less rubbing!
Are there any old houses near the school? Good vid n h.h.
Good finds guys. I live in Clarksville and looking for good place to hunt.
Knock on doors in old neighborhoods, public parks, the walking trail that runs along the Cumberland River.

I am really curious if you could get a date on that buffalo with nic-a-date. What do you think?
JD try to clean your coins with WD-40 you might be able to see a date then
There is a product called nic-a-date just for this purpose for nickels at least
I have nic-a-date. It doesn't work well on corroded nickels. I've experimented.
You really shouldn’t rub them when there dry you damage the coins
