They could’ve capitalized on this by giving us a Grimace collectible toy. I would’ve picked it up even for that absurd price just for the nostalgia hit.

I work at McDonald’s and everyone decided to get a sip to preview it yesterday and it really reminds me of Captain Crunch Berry- definitely very sweet

That was my fav part of working at fast food. You got to try all the new stuff. I once took home a tupperware of this limited time smoky sauce from MCDs they had and used it on my homemade food for like 2 weeks.
I remember the first time they did this with the Travis Scott meal. That promotion was actually a discount, and it helped me get through many busy college nights.

I work at a McDonalds and the official "flavor" of the shake is "Berry" as per the training manuals we got on it. Tastes like a blueberry milkshake to me.
Also, all of Mcdonalds shakes have a vanilla base, they just use flavored syrups for chocolate/strawberry, etc

I really wish they would have made this an adult happy meal and included a grimace toy. That would have motivated me to go buy a meal. We’re the generation that grew up with those characters after all…..The milkshake isn’t interesting or special enough for me to go buy it.

It is too filling to be only in the meal and not a la carte for sure. I can eat a good amount in one sitting but sugar does me dirty. I also think a special dipping sauce for the nuggets would've made sense.

Ikr ? I stopped to get a Mocha Frappe at 9:30 pm . I was being lazy after a long day trip . They close at 11 pm on weekdays , by me . I was told , " sorry , we are cleaning the machines , no shakes or Frappes today ". 🤔 I went to Wawa ( 2 parking lots away ) got their version . Double the size and made to your specifications . I froze half for the next day . The Wawa chicken sandwich was excellent too , btw . I haven't been to a McDonald's in years and now I remember why ! When I worked in the service industry : we didn't start breaking down our machines until closing . If we were open until 11 pm we served the entire menu , until 11 pm . I'd like to try this shake , out of curiosity . But F Mickey D's now .😂 Thanks Review Bruh 😘😎😍
@@cottoncandisandi6109 Yeah, I worked at DQ and that’s how it was too, we wait to shut it down after closing. Then once a week I would come in an hour early to break down the machine, deep clean it and replace parts.
Apparently the difference is that it has to go through like a 12 hour cleaning process. They talked about getting new machines that do not take quite as long to clean but that was years ago. I don’t get it though, why choose to use a machine like that? People are constantly coming in and asking for ice cream and you’re losing out on a large amount of potential sales. Just use a similar machine to what DQ and just about every other fast food restaurant uses lmao.

I think it would be cool if McDonald’s gave customers one of those old school glass cups with Grinace on it like they did back in the day (I think the cups had the Disney engravings on them if I’m not mistaken) with this meal. That would justify that ridiculous price

So many of the old McDonald's glass cups had cadmium in the yellow dye, and I believe some of the fast food cups had leaded glass as well. They don't want to run that one back.

I work at a mcds and we have purple shirts to wear for this promo, and its fun :) Grimace was my favorite mcds character back when i was an 80s/90s kid, so this promo has been a treasure for me.
We all got to try the milkshake, and its definately blueberry flavored. I love the purple color too, purple is my fave color anyway :)

Grimace was born June 12th, 1971. He is now 52 yrs old.
As a child of the 70s, I really miss all the McDonald's characters...even if the Hamburglar was a little scary to me at the time! 😂 They need to reboot that entire string of characters to the current generation who doesn't even know them.
My parents used to buy me the McDonalds plates when they had them for sale.

That shake is crazy, it taste exactly like a birthday cake with candles and ice cream use to smell when I was a kid, if you can taste a birthday party this is it. No joke! Maybe it has the taste of the birthday cake they use to do in McDonald's! I recommended it, specially if your on your 40s.

The flavor of the shake to me is like a blueberry/blackberry cobbler/pie flavor. I say this because I have bluebell blackberry cobbler ice cream in my freezer and this shake basically tasted exactly like it.

I thought it was more of a blueberry than a raspberry. The vanilla mellows out the extreme sweetness of the berry. Was very pleasant

I just checked my local McD’s and they’re charging over $16 for this meal! Ha! Even at $13 it’s a stretch but at 16? Nopes. I did find a location selling it for $13 but the shake isn’t available. Looks like I won’t be RSVPing for this particular birthday party. I truly appreciate the review though so I at least won’t be wondering what I’m missing out on. The purple tie was a nice touch!

At that price point, you may as well just grab a bag of berries, some vanilla ice cream and make your own milkshake.
Even though I’m not a MacDonald’s fan like I was when I was little, I definitely think that is really smart that they are bringing back some of their characters in their new foods and commercials and definitely doing a very soft way with some modern twists to all of them.
It kind of makes me very surprised on what Ronald McDonald will look like a future commercial in 2023. Or what his promotion will be like.
Ronald McDonald will be in promotional items beginning Q1 of 2024. Ronald is going to be bi-racial, gender-fluid, and differently-abled.

$13.50 for a meal they ordinarily charge about $8.50 for, because it's the "birthday" (read: creation date) of a creepy milkshake mascot that hasn't been relevant in two decades? Now THAT'S how you tell the public you don't respect them!
The milkshake is $4 alone. That's where the price up comes from. It's still ridiculous to pay $4 for frozen flavored milk but here we are.

Its either the purple tie, or his immune system from all the fast food is so strong it also makes him immune to damage to the body.

It is berry flavor, a very unique berry flavor. We loved it.
