The troopers of two starships have joined forces to terminate a massive bug attack at a Federation outpost. Before the mission can be completed and the survivors evacuated, one ship abruptly departs and goes inexplicably dark. The remaining battle-hardened troopers race to the rescue only to discover that the threat from the bugs is about to hit home.

i watched this when it came out and i loved the animation style back then. Didnt realize so many ppl didnt till recently. I personally liked the style of a lot of early 2000s CG animated movies like that one final fantasy movie

CGI is lame as shit, it's lazy and tacky and the characters can't emote worth shit, NOT good, if it was hand drawn on the other hand... definitely would have raised the quality 😬

I think the ship has own it’s a gravity field lmao how do you think they all stay down and not floating while shooting and the bugs fall down when they die(but also Hollywood logic cuz if that sniper scene, bullet casing should’ve definitely floated away 😂)
I hope they make more ST movies in this CG style. The 5th one Traitors of Mars is a fun movie too

I think they were trying to be more like the book with this where the mobile infantry is a specialised unit

@@tehmarokThat will do as will😂 I mean, some high tech, destructive weapons like Bolter, plasma guns or thermal rounds…etc. Because the standard bullets seems not so effective against them.

Being hilariously bad was always a key ingredient in what made starship troopers work, glad they're still finding new ways of making it happen.
I think it's almost always made clear in implications that part of the reason the bugs keep appearing everywhere and also seem to be up to date with human advancement is because the government just doesn't stop meddling and trying to tinker with bug control.
In the third live action film, they use a psionic to presumably kill the power grid and lead to a devastating defeat that would put Rico on trial.
In this film, the psi-Officer all but says he 'tried to hack her and got hacked in return'.
Going by allegories, the Federation top brass want to find new ways of control. They started a war that backfired on them, now they want control over the war so they can turn it into never ending propaganda for their empire.
Instead of getting a fully grown Queen Bug, should they find a few baby Queens and then leave mama bug and the rest to be blown up at Fort Casey.
Hard to believe that the guy responsible for the Ghost Stories and Cromartie High School dubs (Steven Foster) also voice directed this.
I always love the part where the soldiers are on the damn higher than yet they see the John a Warden taking off and they're all like you got to be kidding me thanks for waiting jackass I know that's what I would be saying if I saw a dropship getting ready to leave us behind

Not the bullet casings falling down...in space, and the windows being broken without the ship depressurising. They can probably breathe in space too I reckon.
The armor they wear is basically iron man suits without lasers.
