Everytime I have a pkg delivered or buy something that comes in a box, i keep it and fill it up with stuff around the house to donate. This helps me to keep my clutter in check
I am dying right now! I feel so sorry for people who don’t watch your videos until the end. Not to minimize your butt pain, but this is the funniest story I have EVER heard! Thank you for sharing. You made my day. 🥰
I just don't know how to begin and I'm going to start with your 30 day challenge! That picture of your garage... That's my entire house, my business office and my cars. Depression from divorce and custody got me cluttered and the clutter keeps me depressed. Single dad of 2 amazing kids, self employed and no help from anyone. Only ridicule. I have to work, take to school, pick up from school, band practice, football games, work very late due to the mid day of pickup from school, try to cook, laundry, divide my time to spend with people... I wake up at 2/3 am and typically go to sleep at about 10pm. I JUST! DON'T! KNOW! WHAT! TO! DO! I will try your 30 day challenge and see if I can get anything accomplished. Thank you for your videos. It's the only help I have and I need it so much! ✌🏼
My tip is, if you have a hard time letting things go, start with the fridge. Anything expired or old leftovers. It always gets me in the zone to continue to declutter the house breaks the ice..
I used to always say the garage, but my husband likes to throw things in there that annoy him & so now it's too difficult to do that because it's mostly stuff I needed or wanted in the house... BUT for most people it's old stuff!
The 'broke your butt buying a fake butt' story had me in absolute stiches! Thank you for sharing that hilarity. I struggle most with decluttering because I feel like I need all the things I have since my family has so many irons in the fire.
I’m struggling with all 3. Decluttering, organizing and tidying. My home was perfectly organized and tidy then I got sick. Five years of being sick turned my home into a disaster. My family helped but it just kept getting out of hand. The mess grew and grew. I was overwhelmed. I found you and I’m slowly getting my home back. Thank you for repeating everything. Some days when things are tough, I just need the reminder.
I'm like you. Chronic fatigue and back surgery. 10 years of worsening overwhelm. The fog is lifting. One day at a time getting life back on track. Small piles. Small bags binned. Why do I keep nasty cheap worn out shoes? And stuff. And oooold stuff. Scared it'll be death by stuff! 1/4 million people just like me. As for Amazon butts, My tv shopping purchases made in the crazy wee hours when compulsive buying is a sickness. Wish me luck! Rome was not built in a day as they say. Working up to mid life version of swedish death clean. Already sold some furniture on ebay. 5 books to go to the charity book fair. It's a start!
It may feel like groundhog day for you talking about clutter Cas, but you're reaching new people every day, or people in a new place in their journey...we love listening to you! Repetition is the mother of skill according to my karate instructor!
Just discovered this whole decluttering thing, and and what you said is me. I feel like she’s talking to me. I’m a week in and This has been life changing.
I wish she, Dana and Dawn would all just keep making redo videos tbh, because I listen to them while I work and it really helps, but eventually you run out. They definitely have new or different perspectives/insights every time they talk about these things too
I absolutely love how you address this “clutter” issue. You don’t shake and say we’re hoarders and have to throw it all away or say anything that’s negative. You completely relate and that’s huge! I am so motivated to complete the 10 min tidy up at 8 pm. I’ve already set my daily alarm. Accountability is key. You make me WANT to be better with this “issue”. You’re absolutely amazing and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the new way of thinking about life and inspiration you have provided me with. Thank you!! I wish you could help me with my home directly 🙂
An example of why this works: my son was working on a project, needed some allen wrenches. Went right to the closet, pulled out the container marked tools, (recently decluttered closet) and kept going. He mentioned it to us later that it was a welcome change over searching! Have a good day everyone.
Before decluttering, I was literally seeing a therapist bc I couldn’t understand why I could not manage my household mess. Therapist tried to dig deep into my childhood to understand why I felt the need to be so tidy. Fast forward four months - got rid of the therapist and did a serious declutter. I cannot explain to you how BIG of a change it has been to have decluttered! I no longer feel overwhelmed by my house - it’s honestly shocking to me, but I continue to declutter more and more bc it has already been so life changing.
I had someone tell me that my desire to be tidy and organized is a trauma response…girl I just like to feel at peace! Glad you got rid of that therapist.
So the therapist didn't get the chance to tell you that ''it's because you were raise by a narcissist''? He or she must be kicking him/herself and thinking '' the next one that comes in ...' These days we don't have to/or need to do anything at all, to change or improve ourselves and our lives; it's ALL our narcissist parents' fault. They've set up 1 billion You Tube channels to tell everyone how their parents were, or are narcissists, therefore the cause of ALL (and they mean ALL) their problems. I wonder WHO these ''therapists'' blame for their own children's issues!
I have a mental block with clothes...by far the worst part of household chores for me. There are 7 of us so laundry isn't the easiest. If I can't put my clothes away straight from the dryer...they end up in a pile and stay there. It literally drives me insane, but It becomes overwhelming and I don't know where to start to get them all put away. It is constantly plaguing my mind and I don't know what to do 😭😭😭😭
Hi, my family is 6. Have you ever tried everyone has their own dirty laundry hamper then they have to put it away? I was doing what you were doing too, until I decided my kids can help. Even a toddler can fold and put their clothes in drawers. We fold towels as a family when I need their help. Hope this helps you! It worked for me.
I've always struggled with the decluttering part. I've felt emotionally attached to everything and couldn't let them go until recently. I no longer want to live with all this stuff and am finding decluttering so freeing! Thank you!!! ❤️
Or I will need it sometime. And I do... Then I buy it mad BC got rid of. Once threw my tool charger away tiling what is this weird charger looking thing. I repair most stuff on my own. I buy the tools for it which is much cheaper than hiring someone therefore I don't need them very often. I had not used the weed eater / pull trimming Chainsaw for a while and I had everything all mixed up from a move was going through things and threw it out then when I went to use the weed eater in the pole chainsaw I was like oh my gosh I can only charge one at a time now it takes a long time for them to charge. And quick to use their charge up. I really did need both Chargers that just bit my biscuit
I can relate...I think I may need it. Eventually I do. Another thing is that I am crafty and that is another excuse I use. "I can use this to make something."
It’s a compromise for sure. And like with tools and useful items, it’s a chance. Just gotta weigh the difference and try to guess if the risk is worth it.
Oh my goodness, thank you for your transparency in sharing your painful yet hilarious story at the end! And thank you for your helpful tips and encouragement to keep working at overcoming clutter!!!
I love that you, Dawn, and Dana each bring a little slightly different view to the clutter problem. I identify with something from each of you.... sometimes it's the mood I'm in, sometimes it's a habit I do. I am so thankful for all 3 of you! Together, yall address my crazy clutter issues 😆.
I've got to start decluttering again. Just figured out there are 12 "rooms" in my house. If I can declutter 1 "room" a month, I'll have a newly decluttered home by the end of the year. That includes closets separately, linen closet, and laundry room. Yes, I'll probably do this quicker than that, but "less pressure" attitude to help me. Let's go.
Funny, I just thought of this too. 12 months, 52 weeks, 365 days - I am logging it so at the end of the year I have a record of 'what did I do this last year?' .... deep clean one thing every day - or catch up on the weekend (ie, 1 end table; the piano bench; light/lamp; etc, de-clutter and polish up) to equal 52 bigger projects (oven; frige; complete bookshelf, cabinet, etc); and a total go over of 10 rooms (incl closets as rooms) 1 per month except Dec. .... end of the year, an organized, clean house. My goal and gift to myself (single) that cost nothing but time.
My grandma used to, “have a place for everything and put everything in its place.” Getting rid of stuff can be hard, but well worth it. Less IS more. Organizing is easy, especially if you watched Sesame Steet. Remember, “these three things belong together, one of these doesn’t?” Putting things away is easy once you’ve done step 1 & 2. I think of the “Cat in the Hat” children’s book. The Cat in the Hat ALWAYS cleaned up after himself before he left.
Cass! You're an answer to my prayers! I have been stressing over my family's mess and my husband's clutter the past few days. Clutter is a major trigger for my anxiety. I prayed that God would show me a way to tame some of the chaos in our home. Then this video popped up and a lightbulb went off! I got my son to clean his room using a timer and turning it into a game! Every night while I'm cleaning up supper dishes (I clean and do a "reset" every night after supper), he will be cleaning up his toys from the day and my husband will be tidying up his mess and helping me tidy up. Fingers crossed that this works! You are amazing! Thank you!
What was the secret to convince your husband to tidy along with you?? Even when I’m doing the evening tidying, he just wants to sit in his chair and “decompress”. 🤷🏻♀️ i gave up the nagging game years ago and decided since the mess bothers me, then I should do something about it, but sometimes I still resent that I’m the only one cleaning up.
@@sarahj4cardsandcrafts He got tired of my anxiety being through the roof all the time. He seems to be more understanding than most husbands. I showed him the video and he thought it was a good idea.
@@sarahj4cardsandcrafts my suggestion? Put his things away, but perhaps in a different place than he expects or is used to? Lol! Switch drawers or something on him. If he doesn't like how or where you put it away because he has to search, maybe he will organize things the way HE wants them, then put his things away. Or...if he doesn't like to tidy up clothes etc and they end up on the floor, don't pick them up and wash them. Sooner or later he is bound to run outta socks or underwear or whatever...if it doesn't go in the bin for laundry it doesn't get washed. Got to get creative. Decide on a nice basket and dump his stuff in it and put it in the junk cabinet/catchall drawer. Sooner or later when he cannot find it, he will start putting things away...so they don't disappear. 🤣🤣🤣
You hit the nail on the head with the “holding yourself accountable” for whatever you’ve committed to. My kitchen was a nightmare, much on the cupboards had very little to do with cooking! That all got cleared out…maintaining it was the real challenge. Post gutting all the stuff being sorted and dumped…by days end I have all kinds of stuff cluttering the worktops. Not that I could have done it earlier in the day….I make myself do it before I go to bed. It’s not fun, I often think, “I can do that in the morning.” I haven’t caved in once yet and my kitchen has been sorted out for a couple months. Sometimes I end up staying up until 2:00 am, but I feel so good in the morning! Clear workspace! What a treat! Love your channel!
You're so right, nobody talks enough about what you need to do to maintain it post clutter. Half way through the day when the mess starts to build I feel paralysed and then say to myself.. just pick up one thing, one thing and put it away, then it snowballs and I'm right back in the game!!
I actually cried with your intro. I feel the excitement you feel about the topic, is proportional to the frustration I feel with home organisation as someone with severe ADHD.
Hi Cass - I'd write a longer blurb, but I'm running around like crazy woman trying "just to tidy up" my home before our friends come over tonight to watch the big game. I told my hubby, someday, we will have a house that is always tidy. He looked skeptical, but with your guidance I know I can do it. I'm old and can't work for hours on end anymore, but 15 minute segments work great for me. And no more fake butt devices. You look beautiful the way you are. Keep the info coming, keep pounding it into my brain. I need it. Thanks for sharing and continued success. Love PegEgg
Girl, you always toss that wisdom around and I appreciate the encouragement! The end tho!!!!!!😂You are so real and sooo funny! I adore you! Thanks Cass!!!!!!!!
I’ve found that focusing on one room at a time provides greater success. Kitchen was #1 and it worked. I gave myself a month to declutter and spruce it up either a fresh coat of paint or shelf liner. Then on to the next room. Bedrooms take the most time and letting go of good clothes is hard. But we did it. Good Will and friends are now enjoying all our clutter and we are benefiting from less. Thanks for the inspiration ❤️
Thank you, Cas. The fact that you would share that story is what makes you so awesome and I love you for it!! We all have moments like that where our insecurities or external expectations get the better of us. You are such a source of inspiration and joy.
Omg! You just won me over! I’m officially a fan. You are too funny and real. I love it! And thank you for the decluttering tips. My home is messy. I’m overwhelmed. I don’t know where to start. It’s been years that I have this problem. I can’t let go of things. Too many emotional attachments. Too worried about where to donate things. Too worried about where my things will end up. But you have given me hope! Thank you! 🙏🏽
Does it bring you JOY, and do you USE it? When my kids left home, I had them put whatever they didn't take but wanted to keep in bins, so I felt free to get rid of anything not in their bins. We have given away bags and boxes of stuff, and I finally have a house I don't have to pick up before someone comes over. It is SO FREEING! I like my house again! Just do it! Every bag of stuff you give away means someone else gets to ENJOY what you no longer do! If it means something to you, take a picture. You can enjoy pictures but you don't have to DUST them!🥳
Oh sister I completely get you!!! I could've written what you did!! It's pretty discouraging and overwhelming isn't it? I get so overwhelmed on where to start and then perfectionism gets to me and "will I regret getting rid of this?" issues. I watch Dawn The Minimal Mom, too, and that's my goal is to get where she's at, but I LOVE Cass's style! Her personality is the best!!! She always makes me laugh and makes me feel totally normal. I think her Clutterbugs is GENIUS. I'm like a cricket but I also like things to look pretty. 🤔 So, good luck to both of us. I believe we can do this!!!! God bless you sister, and God bless you Cass! ❤️
Decluttering and continuing the habit, gets away from me. I am used to keeping things to work with grandkids. We make "take-away" projects that keep them busy creating and learning. Jazzed up pictures and 'whatever' occasion cards, party masks and favors ( bejeweled; bedazzled, hand stitched, etc.)
I LOVE your honesty about your life (including the fake butt "adventure" 😂). It gives those of us who have been "treading water" in the overwhelm of life (and stuff) hope to get up and keep going after the dream of living in a more peaceful, manageable home. Thank you! ❤️
This is so simple and straightforward and helpful. I am realizing at 52 years old that I may well have adhd as a woman. Its sad that so many of us females were never recognized and diagnosed and have to find out as an adult. Clutter has always been a huge issue for me, and it created so much chaos and stress and anxiety and shame. I do feel quite relieved to know about adhd, and that there are helpful ways to work with it. This video is so helpful also. Thank you.
This is just what I needed! I love the fake bum story! Anyway, 2022 is going to be my year to declutter, organize and stay tidy! I’m motivated to do it!
A group would be great! Right now I am using her podcast and listening to her videos as motivation, when I'm not feeling it for even the simplest of general tidy up.
Even if I thought someone had a better looking bum than I do, it would not occur to me to buy a fake one. (Not that I go around making comparisons.) The problems the OP brought up about her purchase give a new spin to the commandment, "You shall not covet your neighbour's ass!"
priceless information. Thank you so much Cas. Ever since I started watching your videos my home is becoming more and more of a home after so many years that I have felt like like a mouse in a cage running in circles.! thank you is not enough/
Cass, thanks ever so much for you candor, honesty & for being so transparent. You're absolutely amazing & I trust that soon, one day you'll grasp the fact as to how many families are being richly blessed and set free from the bondage that held them (us) back. Thank you 🦋🦋🦋🦋!! Sincerely Willie in Santa Barbara, CA.
I’m so pleased I found you. I struggle with all three. I’m paralysed with inaction. I’m going to start with 10 mins a day of tidying and grabbing a bag and putting unused stuff in it.😬
I hope this year and I can conquer my mess - I can tolerate the mess because weirdly I hardly lose track of anything! But still, I want less stuff, more room, and less shame about what the place looks like.
@@debbiedogs1 shame is a good way to describe it... like why am holding on to this junk? Ppl wouldn't approve... I think the 10 min a day is an awesome place to start. So ecxited!
Decluttering has become a LOT easier for me since I started using the container method. I just decluttered my linen closet (which was an overflowing, hot mess!). I took everything out, and only put in matching towel sets I needed, sheet sets I needed, etc and it looks wonderful and is so functional now! The PILES of leftover items will be donated or tossed (as appropriate). I’m doing this with my entire house!!!
The key is starting and starting small. Find one surface and clear it off. The number one problem people do is trying to have a garage sale. Donate or throw it out. If the item is valuable enough put it on the marketplace. Putting out my clothes the night before and pulling out the frozen meat for dinner the next day makes me pick up the bedroom at night and think organization for the next day. It makes the next morning go well. Lastly, not every drawer/space needs to have something in it. I'm in my fifties and just figured this out in the past ten years. One other thing, it's destructive to keep measuring yourself against others. Challenge yourself and enjoy the progress you have made.
I've been watching the snippets at the end of your videos and I honestly think you could compile all these gems into a very funny, very successful stand-up routine. I hope your butt feels much better now!
You’re hilarious! That was the best cleaning video I’ve ever watched. My most difficult part of this process is the decluttering. I always want to save something that I MIGHT need again at some point, especially little crafty things for my kids.
@@cm7884 Yes, do not declutter things that you know you will need in the future and have to buy again. They just need a home, like a container in a craft room or area. Decluttering really is getting rid of things you know you will not use again. My rule is if I get rid of it I am NOT buying it again, so I better be sure.
Yes, with the amount of inflation going on right now, I'd agree that it would be better to find and dedicate a box or bin for craft things that you already have. I recently bought a craft starter kit for my preschooler and it stays in one of her drawers. We started a scrap box for all the reusable scraps and have another box that we throw empty toilet paper rolls, egg cartons, plastic cups, etc., in to be used for craft projects to help us keep the costs lowered. When that box is full, it's time to make more crafts!
The 100% most important thing you can do after your big initial clean up, is to change your mindset on shopping. Ever since I stopped shopping for fun, the amount of mess in my home has dropped. Instead of feeling like I need to declutter every week, it's turned into every few months. And my declutter isn't a 3 day affair anymore, it's usually me getting rid of maybe 5 things. Not having a massive amount of things I don't really need coming into my home all the time has been so incredibly freeing
Same here. Shopping clutters your home and it destroys the planet. Just stop shopping. And tell your friends and family what you want for your birthday and Christmas so they can buy things that you really need. Right now most homes are filled with stuff they have been given as presents. Every year their homes are filled with stuff they don't need and then they purge most of it. It's so sad and it is killing the planet. 😫
I still love shopping, but my mindset around shopping has changed. Instead of bringing home every item that’s on sale and pretty I’m treasure hunting for the perfect item that exactly meets my needs and not settling. I find myself buying way less this way. And if I can buy it pre-owned or sustainable even better!
@@sarahholmes2138 The one place (type of place really) I still really enjoy shopping for fun is the thrift store. I love digging around for cool things, though I still go in with a general 'try to find' list. I got all of my desk organization things from a thrift store. It also lets me get the raw material for upcycling things, which lets me personalize things for myself and gifts for others with minimal cost and environmental impact. I'm currently in the middle of refinishing a beautiful wooden jewlrey box that was painted a horrendous yellow color and had stained drawer liners. It's going to be so pretty when it's done!
Bro, that story at the end had me rolling!! Very unexpected from an apparent decluttering guru, but very much welcomed! People keeping it real is what separates creators from being, "just another channel"! Subscribing.
I am so grateful for this video! We just moved into a new house and I want so much to live in a neat, tidy home. I grew up in chaos, where dirty dishes always overflowed in the sink. I actually got emotional watching this, because I want so much to have an organized home. Thank you so much 💕💕
Some suggestions: Buy only what is functional, If there are 3/4 ppl in the family buy only 3/4 plates, bowls, cups, glasses, etc. Every corner of home doesn't need furniture. Just a few suggestions, but most important everyone work as a team to maintain the house/home
When it comes to linens (like towels and bedsheets) they recommend 3 per person; one that's being used, one that's in the dirty laundry, and one for backup for those 'just in case' situations. I'd recommend this for dishes, utensils and glassware, too. I can't imagine only having a single cup, plate and fork to use per person every single day. How would that person eat or drink while their dish was in the dishwasher? Cleaning off the dinner plate and drying it off in order to serve dessert is doable, but sounds like an unnecessary hassle.
I’ve truly enjoyed the switch your content has made with helping us declutter and get more organized! Been trying to work all your tips in my daily living. I need help! With all my crafting supplies, my tiny home drowns in all the mess. Thanks for these videos Cassandra! 🤗
I love your channel, Bethany. It would be awesome to see a crossover video series in getting your crafts in order! Decluttering videos have HIGH views.
Hey Bethany!! Love your channel too 🤗 I have the same problem...need urgent help with my craft room!!!. I too struggle to keep it decluttered. I thought about buying a bunch of baskets too but need to be more organized. Cas says get rid of stuff but as a DIYer I always see potential and the possibilities with different items so I have a dilemna🤦🏽♀️ Bethany I have seen some of your organization ideas too which are great. With you and Cas in my life I have hope for a clutter free world but would surely be great to see you and Cas work on organizing a craft room indeed🤗 Keep doing what you're doing ladies...grateful for you!!!
I definitely struggle the most with decluttering! I guess I'm just so sick of downsizing again and again. (A year ago my husband of 34 years divorced me and now I'm living in a smaller place and having to start over with all my organizational systems) Please please keep talking about the same things over and over! :-) it is just so encouraging and inspiring to me and I know too many many others! 🎈💕🎉
This is me to a T...except it was after 20 years of marriage. My world has been on tilt and upside down with other things in life alongside it, so I know it’s going to take a while to ‘get there.’ Idk about you, but part of the decluttering challenge is wondering if something will be needed/best kept for later because of facing new things...coupled with the need to pinch pennies to a greater degree. The ‘unknowns’ can lead to just shutting down. I’m so thankful to have discovered this channel so I can have some guidance!
@@LillianOglethorpe I'm so sorry! 20 years is still a really long time. So yeah, it really turns your world upside down. Decluttering is so hard for me Because I had some really nice things that I know I won't be able to afford now if I want or need to replace them. Trying to just take things one day at a time. And I'm also so grateful for this channel which really helps me out. Thanks for comment, and good luck with everything. Happier New Year
I'm right there, too! After my divorce, I purchased a small townhome, and going from almost 3000sq ft to 1222 sq ft, isn't easy. I've moved 6 times since 2015, and moved the same stuff every time. Ugh. I'm trying to declutter, and get rid of stuff that I just packed up then, and am just going through now. I'm also trying to declutter my BF's home, and my parents'! I don't want to have to deal with their stuff when they're gone, and I don't want my kids to have to deal with my stuff. That's my motivation! Hugs to both of you ladies!
I have so much clutter! I moved back into the house with my mom who has since passed away. So it’s my stuff and her stuff that my sisters have been saying they will come over and go through mom‘s stuff and it’s been 10 Years. I also moved my things out of storage into this house too. It’s overwhelming! And on top of it, I have OCD.
I honestly appreciate the repetition. Sometimes it's more about how something is presented, or simply down to the right timing. This video was so helpful!! I recently started working on implementing the FlyLady System and she seems to have all three of these steps covered, so I'd be interested to know your thoughts on that cleaning system, Cas.
I will always be grateful to Flylady because she taught me to make my bed. I must as soon as I get out of it, pull the covers up and straighten them. I have formed the habit so now I never leave the bedroom in the a.m. unless I make the bed. It is such a good thing to do. There is no more having to go to sleep at night and finding you have to make the bed before getting into it.
Oh my lord Cass!!! The ending of this video!!! I love your realness!!! “Thighs to back”! “I bought a butt on Amazon”. God, I just love you!! Thanks for ALWAYS keeping it real! 💖
I started watching you 4 years ago when I moved into the home we inherited from my grandparents. Not only was the house their home it was their business for 70+ years. As such they accumulated 70 years of stuff both personal and business. It wasn't as easy as just throwing things away as they hid money in books (they had LOADS of books) and in random containers 🤪🤯 not to mention the money that was sent to them in greeting cards (they 100s of cards) so I had to go through EVERYTHING. I'm down to just needing to go through the attic then I can start on really organizing. Your tips and tricks have helped me get this far. THANK YOU for all you do.
It's funny, that money was worth more when they hid it in books than it is today. You'd think a fireproof lockbox or a safety deposit box would be more ideal than books, but it's kind of like a treasure hunt.
Thank YOU. I lost my cafe due to COVID and in one night my whole house was full. I was already a soap maker and hobbiest so I'm hurried so stressful this is not how I was raised. Actually going crazy. Thanks for the motivation. Your energy and sweetness was relatable. I can't get out from under this life. And of course a stray kitten added to the mix is Unbelievable... Daily avalanches lol
Sometimes it gets depressing when things are so upside down. I’ve started making a list and breaking big jobs into small steps. Even if I don’t get it all done I feel like I accomplished something! I hope you can see this as a new adventure. I found myself really lost when I sold my business. It’s akin to losing a good friend.
@@hurstjames6196 well hello. Very kind of you to check in. I won't lie and say I'm great but I'm getting by. Have managed to avoid covid illness so that's a plus. Hope you're well and thank you
Decluttering for sure is my #1 problem. Plus, when I do feel the desire to declutter my husband isn't on board. He holds the, "I paid money for it, I can't just throw it away" mentality. I try to tell him the money is gone. Keeping the item doesn't bring that money back.
I told my late husband that if you cant locate it, or it is miles from fitting, or wearing it causes you discomfort ( old. Very heavy, very expensive bally wingtips) then you wont use them and you may as well not have them. But in the meantime they are taking up space for something you could use and access.
I had this problem too, but Marie Kondo's approach helped me. She says, "You enjoyed buying the item, you enjoyed having it, but now you're done with it. Let it go!"
I need to hear/read this EVERY DAY! It's starting to get through to my husband too. He used to roll his eyes when I watched your videos, but now he's listening too. We have started doing Trash Bag Therapy and seeing who can fill their bag first! Lol We are seeing a difference. Donations are the new challenge. I find it easy, but it's a challenge for him. 'We might need that someday.' It's work, but we are getting there.
I just want to interject - as a life long minimalist and a “place for everything” person, you have to tidy EVERY day. Sometimes 2-3 times a day. You have to be unrealistically minimal to not have to tidy daily. I agree - declutter - you def only need 25% of what you have, but don’t think it will stop the tidying. Thanks for these videos!
I get so overwhelmed by just 5 mins of decluttering session and I just switch to doing other things... but after listening to you I will surely try try again ! 🙂 Why is it so difficult for me to declutter!!! 😭
I'm right there with you, shrooti. It's difficult for people like you and me because we have Attention Deficit Disorder and get easily distracted, i.e., it's hard to stay on task. For me, I find something interesting when I'm tidying that takes me to something else and then to something else and the next thing you know, I'm doing something that had nothing to do with my original intent.
I've struggled with chronic disorganization and borderline hoarding my whole life😔 even though I tidy up every. single. day. So glad I found this channel❤
Its easy to get caught in your own head space too much. And neglect the obvious. I do have areas i always keep tidy. And homeless sites everywhere Its hard to let go sometimes But its freeing when its gone. Especially because i don’t recognize the objects anymore after i put them away. Out of sight Out of mind. Kills me to think i need shelves instead of cabinets so i can see everything. And not forget i have it. Lord help me.

I'm a " Shelf / partial Open Storage .... because of my " Organizer Type " and I have to tell you it's a lifesaver because I will forget how many hairsprays I have how many hair products I have I want things in bins that's either in a cabinet where the door is off so I can see everything or some kind of storage where I know where everything is is and it's readily accessible because I don't want everything shoved in a cabinet or a drawer ...I can't . I can't do it, lol. I have a plate Rack in my kitchen for all my plates , serving platters, etc.. all those kind of things. .. it's a tall plate rack, it holds a lot of things there is even a shelf on the bottom of this thing for all the spices I use every single day. I want to have things out and accessible that's part of my organization you know personality and granted , I have a hidden storage too.... but I have to have most everything readily available and see it. Or I'll forget about it. Yep. Lol. I took the doors off of half the cabinets in my kitchen so that I could store things and just see them... like the useless cabinet over the refrigerator ( WHY ARE THEY STILL DOING THIS, anyway??! Its USELESS. For the most part. lol. Unless youre 5'10" ... and even then , I question WHY ..) Anyway...that holds my French presses, it holds plates for coffee cups ( my coffee cups are on a shelf underneath that ) and I like to keep things organized " where I use them and what makes sense for me," but I can't have everything in the cabinet .... it would just drive me nuts....😉🙂😁
Omg I was dying laughing st the ending!! I sat sideways in the couch while our friends were over and I was out for 3 days because I did something to my back.. I feel you
The part about the "home" for a certain kind of item being the LIMIT of how much of that we can keep at one time has REALLY helped me. When I got my drawers organized, I stopped buying more clothes - because I can SEE that have no ROOM for more! Or I have to get rid of something I have to make room for a better item. But I can't just keep acquiring more and more with no closet or drawer or cabinet space for it.
I absolutely Love Love Love your "Stay to the end" stories! You inspire me to declutter and get organized, and throw humor at me in the best unexpected ways! Thank you!!
Oh my goodness!! I never comment on TH-cam videos, but wow...you, my dear, are well worth it!! 😆 Hilarious and REAL! Love the content from beginning to end. Honest, straight to the point and it's obvious you have a passion not only for organizing, but genuinely want to help others find the freedom you've found in organization. I think I have every bin, tote, organizer...whatever, to organize my house. This video is exactly what I needed! So grateful! Thank you! And humor...icing on the cake. 😁
I struggle with the decluttering portion and love organizing. It feels great to get rid of things and to see small portions of progress but I get overwhelmed at all the areas that I still need to tackle. Thank you for repeating and being a cheerleader for all us clutterbugs out there!!
Ok, this has me laughing my entire a - - off! Finding homes for things, and avoiding breaking butts... Roger that..Thank you for this one!! I'm glad you've recovered too! 💗
I am literally watching your videos while pretending that today isn't "declutter the closet" day, 🤣! Thank you for the repetition - sometimes I just can't rewatch a video, no matter how good, for the billionth time, so I always I appreciate your new content! Thank you also for the reminder that "declutter the closet day" can be done 15 minutes at a time - I just have to start. P. S. Your story about the fake butt made me laugh so hard my cat is looking at me in concern.
I suffer most with the decluttering. From watching your videos and it dawned on me ( after years of pulling my hair out in frustration) that I never really thought about creating homes for all my things. It worked okay for me until I had kids and suddenly ended up with way too many things in my small home. Thank you for teaching me that my biggest issue is clutter specifically Homeless clutter and Guilty clutter. Thank you so much Cas for being so genuine and helpful. You are giving me hope in my daily chaos. We started out as a family of 3 and now are a family of 6. We have totally outgrown our small house but since selling and buying a house is not an option right now- decluttering is my only hope. Thank you again Cas for giving me hope again. ❤️ Ps. I am glad you are feeling better. Sciatica is an awful pain in the backside literally. God bless.
Many, many years ago, my Dad was complaining about super sore glutes and a sore lower back but couldn't think of anything that he had done to make it happen. Then it occurred to him like a lightbulb moment! He had always kept his wallet in his back pocket but he had always had work that involved standing. Once he became a sales rep that required a significant amount of driving - he began sitting "lopsided" on his wallet for multiple hours every day. Eventually, he had to change where he was putting his wallet. He would have liked your broken butt story because he could have identified with you. LOL Heather xo
I love when I hear you say "the messy middle". When I am organizing and someone looks in on the middle I always yell "Don't look! It's the middle! The middle is always messy!". This was often the phrase I would use when I would help organize something at my daughters old school and the principal would come in to see my process. I would throw her out because it was the middle! LOL
My mom would say, “it looks worse until it looks better” and now I do. The children will come in, “this is cleaning?” Well they know well enough how pulling everything out first will look disarray!
I declutterred and reorganized my entire apartment a month ago while listening to/watching your videos! I’m one of the people who regularly declutter (about 2-3 trash bags full twice a year) so I didn’t have much declutterring to do, but the organization tips were great! I have ADHD and I’ve lived in a perpetual cycle of 1 AM cleaning binges, slowly letting my apartment get worse until I couldn’t stand it (usually a 1-3 month cycle), then repeat. I’m proud to say my apartment looks almost as good today as it did a month ago. We’re just going to ignore my desk since I’m in the middle of something and only stopped to watch this video while I eat dinner before going back. :)
I struggle most with de-cluttering. I find myself dragging things out after the holidays & making my lists & adding to my lists & before you know it, it becomes so overwhelming I don't want to tackle any of it. If I do, it's in teeny tiny steps. You are genius! I love watching your videos, along with all your tips. I’m going to try a few of these tips. Thank you so much!! ☺️
I know how you feel! I finally stopped making lists to and the best way to do things. I just set the time for 5 minutes and do something, many times a day!
Loved this episode, as a person with a well padded butt, I got the biggest laugh. But also your 30 day challenge is something I'm going to try. Your sessions make good sense and have motivated me. Plus you don't guilt trip your viewers. But I must also admit I enjoyed the episodes on HGTV too. Your handyman is talented and creative. Thanks.
My aunt had 9 children. She had the neatest house in the neighborhood. In the morning, before school, each child had a chore to complete, commensurate with their age and ability: vacuum, scrub the bathtub (a daily chore with all those baths) do the breakfast dishes, etc. They shared the labor and reaped the benefits of a clean, tidy home.
Cass, You are THE BEST!! The decluttering, organizing and tidying are LIFE CHANGING, but what’s EVEN BETTER is that you make us not feel bad about our crazy struggles and help us to laugh about the crazy things we do! And if we EVER meet in person, I’ve got a BIG HUG with YOUR NAME ON IT!
Decluttering is definitely my biggest challenge... ugh, that overwhelming feeling. But, you've got me motivated to do some more today, Cas, thank you!! Awe, so sorry you had to spend your vacation and birthday healing from sciatica... that's the worst! Your poor bum! The things us gals do to look good, amIright?! 🤣
Love your videos…. You are so real…. Just being who you are and that’s what I love about you. I have trouble decluttering. Also doing it and never getting anywhere. Seems I like to organize clutter. Anyway you are hilarious! Blessings! ❤️
I have the same issue. And I'm sooo embarrassed about it! I literally start cleaning up as soon as I get home from work... It's exhausting but nothing seems to look different ... This video showed me what my problem might be: too much stuff! I'll start today!
@@paulamvample5149 I've done a lot since then. I cleaned and organized the rest of my closet, pantry and fridge!! I watch the video several times right before I'm about to clean 😊
Have you got a "floordrobe" too? It's all the rage 🤣. My whole house gets into good shape, then my room has the clothes on the floor and on the end of the bed 🙈.
OMG! That was the funniest Christmas story! You've really brightened my day! After listening to last night's live chat with you and Dana and Dawn, I've hit my closet again and decluttered another bag of clothes! And I now understand trying to buy your way cleaner! Thank you for the real talk and the laughs!
Laughing SO hard right now! I would TOTALLY do that exact thing and tell my family. I'm glad you got your bum back into life action again and ya know a couple of squats tacked on to the end of your 10 minute clean up might be just the thing ;). Thanks for sharing.
I was feeling down thru the first part of the video because I struggle with all three tasks 🥺. Then I was getting so motivated by your empowering speech that I can do this 😃 and by the end I was so full of joy from the amazing story you shared 😭. I love your stories and personality so freaking much 😁🥰
I used to. Keep watching her videos and taking advice and if you backtrack, just keep adopting new habbits and you will NOT keep living like that. And it will only make you feel better and better.
So funny! Thank you, Cas, for reminding us that there are others out there who do outrageous things to impress even family. ha! The rest of the video was so helpful! I'm definitely having issues with decluttering. Organizing and tidiness are better for me. The decluttering is difficult when the mindset is always "I might need this receipt from five years ago". Working on it but any tips on paper clutter would be so helpful.
I'm struggling with the daily tidy up. I have come quite far with my decluttering although I'm not at the perfect spot yet. Therefore every new video is a perfect push to find something else to declutter to eventually reach my ideal amount of stuff. And organizing is great! I'm a cricket so I love all the new categorizing after decluttering. It really helped me that you've said it can be unperfect because in the past I waited to organize stuff to find the "perfect" solution. Now I'm trying things out and it's great! Thanks a lot for your advice and your tough love!!
The best saying I came across is “don’t change your habit, change your habitat”. This changed my mindset --by giving everything a home, your habit will follow.
Girl!!! You've got yourself another sub!! You're too funny 🤣 I felt it in my soul when you talked about rewashing clean clothes 🙃 10 minutes a day starts today!!
Her HONESTY is so REFRESHING! I put a big plastic bin RIGHT next to my door that I put things to DONATE in. I also now have a rule that whenever I BUY something I DONATE TWO things. This has helped me SO MUCH. Also keeping your dvds, cds. etc. in the plastic binders & getting rid of all the boxes helps a lot. I also put all LIKE items together so you save TIME & MONEY not having to SEARCH for MISPLACED or LOST items this also reduces the CONFUSION too:)
Okay, I have never had a messy home until NOW! Infact, my kitchen & bathroom have been featured in 8 National Magazines, 2 books, and made a cover! Since I was a kid, my rooms have been clean! I've been so busy, with life! Health issues, running a business etc...but as I look back I've gone through soooo much more in deaths, & life, but my house has stayed clean! I go to find things...that r right in front of me! I'm so use to the mess, I see right through it@ I was taking a pic of my dog, & when I went to view it....I saw the mess! I watched this video, a great starting point, as I was her one day....& fell away! One thing I can add as helpful, is take a before pic, when your done take an after pic! What amazes me is it doesn't take that much work, to make things right again, just a lil' time. Now w/ that, go shoot some pic's and get started, YOU CAN DO THIS!
I love all the above tasks. My biggest issue is getting my autistic 31 years old HFA son to declutter on a daily basis. He will really be good, then he needs like 3 days inbetween to play our game declutter game of yes and know. yup we made it into a game. I have also taken things I want to declutter for only 15 minutes and have him play the game. Sometimes that works. I guess I have to be patient with him. It drives the Bee in my nuts. He is a butterfly. Have a wonderful day.
I loved your "fake butt" story - see, I stayed to the end! Thank you for warning us all about this! My hardest part is decluttering, saying goodbye to something that I bought at some point and thought would be valuable and I would enjoy at some point. That's the hardest part - saying goodbye and parting with stuff!
The last 5 minutes of this video is hysterical! I’m subscribing immediately. Decluttering, organizing, and tidying up are all overwhelming for me, BUT I’m going to give it a try. Wish me luck.
It took time to get to that place, it will take time to clear it out. Like Cas and others say, take 10 minutes a day, 5 minutes a day, 15 minutes a day to put away things in a given area. Once you begin to see results it will take off from there.
Thank you for being transparent about your organization struggles. I relate with every issue you mentioned that got in the way of having an organized home. This confirms the idea of not buying more stuff to organize until you purge and realize what you don’t use or will never use. Yes yes to the zones! Love this idea
YOU ARE THE MOST!!!! I have never met a person whose home looks like mine. I saw that in you... I appreciate you more than you could ever imagine. You have given me hope in a way that I thought could never be .... at 61, maybe... NO, I WILL declutter. Thank you for your honesty and transparency...It means everything.
OMG That first tip has become my GO-TO! I used to struggle a lot with the guilt of waste, but I realized how much of my time I was wasting by trying to find a place for things I shouldn't even have been holding onto. And how much time I was wasting trying to find things I needed. Now, I LOVE throwing shit out to relieve clutter! 🤣
First, I love your transparency! You are real and I am crazy just like you. Decluttering is the 10 giant elephants in my house. I owned two businesses and have boxes by the hundreds of antiques, vintage clothes, plus boxes of clothing and miscellaneous from downsizing. I’m an only child and my mother passed, so I have all her stuff. My home is a warehouse. I’m ADD to add to the nightmare. I’m embarrassed to have a meeting with an auction company because they have to come into my home and see what I need to auction. IT WOULD TAKE A MIRACLE TO SEE WHAT IS FILLING UP THE ENTIRE UPSTAIRS OF MY HOME. It is certainly spilling down to the living portion of the house and Outside! Talk about drowning. I’m a tiny goldfish and my husband is beyond BEYOND the clutter and ready to flush me down the toilet. (I’m crazy also because I am still collecting more stuff)
Through you, Dawn and Dana, I have been able to declutter and love it. What resonated with me is that when you feel the mess start to creep back (which it does even if you are mindful) then do a mini declutter. It is much easier now because I am have trained myself to declutter without guilt. It is an ongoing process that is so worth the effort. And sorry, your end story was hilarious 🤣. Your butt is fine, you don’t need a fake one.
I have a hard time with the tidying cause I’m always leaving stuff for the next day, like dishes from dinner and lunch or buying something new and just not putting it away right away but it’s pretty simple to do the getting rid of and organizing stuff.
Clutter is a major source of a sense of hopelessness in my life. We live in an apartment that we came to from a house. Our rent is next to nothing because my wife is the manager but after 15'years we have accumulated so much crap it's depressing. We have been throwing out stuff for 6 months and are still cluttered. My wife and I are collectors of interesting items of "stuff". Possessions can be the source of great pleasure and tremendous misery. I will be so glad when this process is done! Throwing out the notebooks/journals was hard because I honestly thought their were items of value in them but I haven't opened them for years...closed my eyes and into the trash they went.
Everytime I have a pkg delivered or buy something that comes in a box, i keep it and fill it up with stuff around the house to donate. This helps me to keep my clutter in check
What a great idea !!
I'm gonna do that
That's a great idea.
I do too, only this past year or so. It is freeing..
Great idea- it’s a great way to recycle your box and make sure stuff keeps moving out
I am dying right now! I feel so sorry for people who don’t watch your videos until the end. Not to minimize your butt pain, but this is the funniest story I have EVER heard! Thank you for sharing. You made my day. 🥰
LOVE you Cas! You make me smile and laugh SO hard! 🤣🤣🤣😍
🤣she said “butt”!!!😂🤣
I'm so sorry Cass, but I have to say I was rolling with this "I broke my butt" story 🤣🤣🤣
You are hilarious!! 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for sharing! I know not to buy a fake butt ever! I don’t need any help with sciatic nerve pain!! 🤣
I always listen to the end- those stories are the best!!
Great tip!
That’s a good idea!
I hate cleaning out the refrigerator!
I used to always say the garage, but my husband likes to throw things in there that annoy him & so now it's too difficult to do that because it's mostly stuff I needed or wanted in the house... BUT for most people it's old stuff!
This was like watching a very useful and hilarious comedy. Thank you.
The 'broke your butt buying a fake butt' story had me in absolute stiches! Thank you for sharing that hilarity. I struggle most with decluttering because I feel like I need all the things I have since my family has so many irons in the fire.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is something that is such a major reality for so many. You are going in a great direction, and I am really glad family helped - take good care
Good luck to you and your family!!! I’m glad her videos are helping you too, but I know you’re doing great!💖
I'm like you.
@@leolady6588 you can do it. Even a small step will move you forward.
You might find the decluttering part of your healing. It's so freeing.
I love that!!!
I wish she, Dana and Dawn would all just keep making redo videos tbh, because I listen to them while I work and it really helps, but eventually you run out. They definitely have new or different perspectives/insights every time they talk about these things too
I agree. I just found your videos, so this is new stuff for me. :)
Agreed 💯
I absolutely love how you address this “clutter” issue. You don’t shake and say we’re hoarders and have to throw it all away or say anything that’s negative. You completely relate and that’s huge! I am so motivated to complete the 10 min tidy up at 8 pm. I’ve already set my daily alarm. Accountability is key. You make me WANT to be better with this “issue”. You’re absolutely amazing and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the new way of thinking about life and inspiration you have provided me with. Thank you!! I wish you could help me with my home directly 🙂
You put your words together so nicely, and I’m going to take away from your comment or copy you about setting my alarm to tidy up Thank you
An example of why this works: my son was working on a project, needed some allen wrenches.
He or she must be kicking him/herself and thinking '' the next one that comes in ...'
These days we don't have to/or need to do anything at all, to change or improve ourselves and our lives; it's ALL our narcissist parents' fault. They've set up 1 billion You Tube channels to tell everyone how their parents were, or are narcissists, therefore the cause of ALL (and they mean ALL) their problems.
I wonder WHO these ''therapists'' blame for their own children's issues!
@@rv292 haha so true!!!
What is your secret? I feel like I do not want to let things go because I paid for them and will loose money.
I agree please do tell.
When ever I can't be bothered or feeling really unmotivated I can hear Cas's voice telling me to 'put my big girl pants on and do it' 🤣🤣🤣
And never leave a room empty-handed.
Jill, they really do 🙌
Agreed
Absolutely right!!!
YES!!!
Let's go.
It’s so simple but mind blowing. Thank you.
Yes better little by little than be overwhelmed by too much, too fast.
Even doing a drawer when you get 15 minutes is amazing.
“Why your home is always messy” *watching my toddler drag everything out of their room and into every part of my house*
Thank you!
You are so welcome!
@@resarm5007 I like how you think!!! Great ideas 💡 I’m going to give them a try.
I'm so glad!
My great grandma used to say, "say goodnight to your kitchen, so it will say good morning to you."
Thanks for sharing!
Love PegEgg
Yes, keep talking to me Cas until it clicks! Thanks so much. ❤
Wow.
I agree. Don't overwhelm yourself. Detail one room at a time.Be consistent and you will achieve the results you want.
I focus on the kitchen. The problem is that it never ends! 10 minutes later it starts filling up AGAIN! I never leave the kitchen.
Thank you! 🙏🏽
Omg, you're literally me. Why am I so attached to this junk?
Does it bring you JOY, and do you USE it? When my kids left home, I had them put whatever they didn't take but wanted to keep in bins, so I felt free to get rid of anything not in their bins. We have given away bags and boxes of stuff, and I finally have a house I don't have to pick up before someone comes over. It is SO FREEING! I like my house again! Just do it! Every bag of stuff you give away means someone else gets to ENJOY what you no longer do! If it means something to you, take a picture. You can enjoy pictures but you don't have to DUST them!🥳
I agree! She gives me hope too! “Won me over!” Amen!
So, good luck to both of us.
Wow! Finally a de-cluttering person who gives a great, focused, energetic presentation! I'm feeling no pain!
I LOVE your honesty about your life (including the fake butt "adventure" 😂).
It gives those of us who have been "treading water" in the overwhelm of life (and stuff) hope to get up and keep going after the dream of living in a more peaceful, manageable home. Thank you! ❤️
My mom used to fill a black bag and tell us, "If you can tell me what's in here you can keep it". She's a master of decluttering.
This is freakin genius
Wow. Im wowed right now. Tell me more about your mom lol
Oh scary
like you had to guess what might be in the bag?
@@flcxflc You had to know. My little sister was the only one who ever got something back.
Thank you.
Is adhd a female issue? I thought men had it also?
@@lauras4472it was thought to mainly affect boys. Much more evidence coming out that girls and women are affected too!
This is just what I needed! I love the fake bum story! Anyway, 2022 is going to be my year to declutter, organize and stay tidy! I’m motivated to do it!
We need to have a 2022 group. I need some group accountability!!😂
A group would be great! Right now I am using her podcast and listening to her videos as motivation, when I'm not feeling it for even the simplest of general tidy up.
Yesss 🌸
Even if I thought someone had a better looking bum than I do, it would not occur to me to buy a fake one. (Not that I go around making comparisons.) The problems the OP brought up about her purchase give a new spin to the commandment, "You shall not covet your neighbour's ass!"
Love the story on her fake butt. Whoops 😬 it must of been sore. 😩
priceless information.
I agree!
So ecxited!
Yes, girl! You go! 👍
WISH I HAD A LINEN CLOSET
Wow, that's awesome!
This was very helpful and yes, very funny at the end. Sorry you had pain, but that really is being transparent and real. I like you for that!😁❤
Your local vetinary surgery would appreciate towels and linen
You are priceless! I've watched you for years! You bring me so much joy. Thank you!!!
It’s more fun to go buy some more for a special project. Get rid of it! Start fresh
@@Grammapama You are starting to convince me.... :)
You can have a bin for those things. 🌻
Never heard a truer word. I love buying things. I think it stems from never having much as a child. At 51 years old I am still working through it.
I enjoy your videos Bargain Bethany! And I love how you’re adjusting to motherhood!
Love you and Cas both!
(A year ago my husband of 34 years divorced me and now I'm living in a smaller place and having to start over with all my organizational systems)
Please please keep talking about the same things over and over! :-) it is just so encouraging and inspiring to me and I know too many many others! 🎈💕🎉
This is me to a T...except it was after 20 years of marriage. My world has been on tilt and upside down with other things in life alongside it, so I know it’s going to take a while to ‘get there.’
Idk about you, but part of the decluttering challenge is wondering if something will be needed/best kept for later because of facing new things...coupled with the need to pinch pennies to a greater degree. The ‘unknowns’ can lead to just shutting down. I’m so thankful to have discovered this channel so I can have some guidance!
@@LillianOglethorpe I'm so sorry! 20 years is still a really long time. So yeah, it really turns your world upside down.
Decluttering is so hard for me
Because I had some really nice things that I know I won't be able to afford now if I want or need to replace them.
Trying to just take things one day at a time. And I'm also so grateful for this channel which really helps me out.
Thanks for comment, and good luck with everything. Happier New Year
Hugs to you 🤗❤️❤️❤️
I'm right there, too!
@@alison5009 thank you so much!
THANK YOU for all you do.
how much money have you found?
It's funny, that money was worth more when they hid it in books than it is today. You'd think a fireproof lockbox or a safety deposit box would be more ideal than books, but it's kind of like a treasure hunt.
@@Fcbfan484 a few hundred dollars... would have been more but many un-cashed checks had expired.

This video was soooo much more than I bargained for. 🤣🤣🤣
I came for the tips but I’m staying for the comedy.
Let it go!"
Maybe he’d feel better about donating things to a thrift store if they’re still useful rather than tossing them. 🤷🏻♀️
YES, ARENT THEY GREAT!!!
Amen. Being mindful of what we consciously bring into our space & taking action with what we have
She does say this later on in the video
I’m thinking probably more than ten minutes, too!
But ! Whenever i throw away what I " dont need " I need it soon after
I get so overwhelmed by just 5 mins of decluttering session and I just switch to doing other things... but after listening to you I will surely try try again ! 🙂
Why is it so difficult for me to declutter!!! 😭
Me🤦🏾♀️
So true, but 5 minutes a day will also work wonders. If that's all you can do, then great. It's a muscle that will get stronger. Keep it up. Yay you!
You’re not alone… we are many…❤️
I'm right there with you, shrooti.
Same. Overwhelms.
Happy Birthday Cass!!! You had me falling off my chair laughing, again! Love your stories!

Loved the story at the end as always! 😂 The hardest part for me is to persuade my husband, that he wants to declutter. 😜
LOL
How funny!
I hope we meet in person then!
Blessings! ❤️
Thank you for sharing your PSA! Us gals need to hear these things. I am a bit overweight but I still have a flat butt. I have considered this
I'm two minutes in and about to throw away everything in my home. The walking over clean clothes! It's like I'm seeing my self.
You took the words right out of my mouth!! 😁
I have the same issue. And I'm sooo embarrassed about it! I literally start cleaning up as soon as I get home from work... It's exhausting but nothing seems to look different ... This video showed me what my problem might be: too much stuff! I'll start today!
To funny me to….

I've done a lot since then.
Thank you this is excellent advice😊❤ one thing I would add for myself is to put things away as soon as im finished with them.
You're too funny 🤣 I felt it in my soul when you talked about rewashing clean clothes 🙃
10 minutes a day starts today!!
Her HONESTY is so REFRESHING!
I put a big plastic bin RIGHT next
to my door that I put things to DONATE in.
I also now have a rule that whenever I
BUY something I DONATE TWO things.
This has helped me SO MUCH. Also
keeping your dvds, cds. etc. in the plastic binders & getting rid of all the boxes
helps a lot. I also put all LIKE items
together so you save TIME & MONEY
not having to SEARCH for MISPLACED or LOST items this also reduces the CONFUSION too:)
I'm so use to the mess, I see right through it@
I was taking a pic of my dog, & when I went to view it....I saw the mess!
Ditto 😄
