Had a similar experience when i first got to the swamps. I go straight to clear sky base , got supplies and went north towards the pump station. I started to hear gun fire coming from that direction, so i sprinted because i wanted to loot first, but at the same time i started to hear the alarm.... a psy-storm was coming. I was rushing to the pump station and i see the bandits already inside, so i toss a grenade in the hopes of clearing the place before getting in, i only got two of them, as the rest went outside to find me and kill me, but the psy-storm was already starting, so i took a psyblock and rushed with my recently found SPAS (broken obviously) and got inside. I ALMOST didnt make it, but i found shelter in time, and waited for them, but what actually happened is that the bandits that went outside to get me, got zombified, in REAL TIME. I've yet to see ANY game with this kind of feature. The shooting, the AI, the havoc outside, it was awesome, so i waited patiently while with my shotgun as they slowly walked inside and finished them off. 10/10 best gaming experience
It;'s even more blood pumping when you play on Ironman... you are in constant fear when traveling... and when you hear crows when you are far from civilization like somewhere in Truck Cemetery or darkscape, it's a whole different experience
For real. Nothing compares to the fear you feel on ironman in the midst of truck cemetery when you hear the crows start up. Ironman in general is scary as hell, because you could be doing super well the entire time, having survived numerous shootouts and emissions; only for you to get caught off guard one time by some pack of wild dogs and you're done just like that.
When you were walking all calm i assumed you were walking with confidence that comes from a seasoned stalker vet then when you looked at the birds i knew you had no idea what was happening
The first 2 blowouts I missed because I went to sleep. And when I woke up all I had were crows. The 3rd time was fighting bandits and there was only one place for cover.
You take the cake. I can't think of a worse place to be during an emission than Darkscape. I would rather be in Great Swamps than Darkscape at the beginning of an emission.
Zombies aren't dead, they are what happens to those who don't die to the emissions. The emissions are psionic attacks as well as the storm. That's why the monolith is also immune to them.
they aren't biologically dead, to my knowledge. More that the psy-emission fries the nervous system and while the monolith are being kept in a stupor, zombies were less fortunate and were just braindead and being puppeted

That's why you always must have anabiotics in your inventory

It's fun to hear the first rumble of thunder and see you start to sprint.
Oh my god, man looks like you got real close to getting vaporized
Yeah probably
Never played but the audio cues are scary immersive

When you hear the crows but not near any cover 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
Why are zombies immune to emissions? is it simply because they're dead?
