i use the turkey pellets wit the coxi meds in in it for breeding and for stock i mix it at 1st with an cormerchel mix and over few weeks go 2 strata to pellets
I feed my race pigeons the same 18% pellets. But I mix a 12% wild bird seed in with the pellets. This keeps their droppings firm. The millit in the wild bird seed mix is a great energy source. Keeps them flying for hours.
I've heard a lot of success stories on raising young ones on pellets. I did try it one year and I found out it wasn't for me. what really turned me off on the pellets is the droppings are to loose. so I stuck to high protein feed. that works for me. nice video and thanks for sharing. brod681.
Yes that is true. I have found afther a few weeks they ferm up. I like that pellets contain sodium choride, magnesium, potassium and calcium, all are needed for growth and endurance. There is a lot of roads to Rome and if yours is working I would stay with it. Thanks for you input, it is a true comment.
Hi, I’ve a question but it’s not related to this video, can I give 4 in 1 tabs for canker, e coli, paratyphoid and coccidiosis to the pigeons who have babies?
I never gave my pigeons tads when they were breeding. but I did add the powder to the water (3 in one powder) never had a problem. I think if the young are large, you may be OK
I use to give my birds chicken pellets as a supplement feed in the coop when breeding it breaks down easier in the crop than feed does for the youngsters and the breeders pump the young like crazy with pellets around . But for flying or racing it has to be measured amounts I used to feed individual grains before the race or the (feed up) before shipping the Mike Ganus method . I still do it with my tippers a good 5pm ( feed up) for a 7am fly all that feed is digested and converted into energy for the morning fly I don't think pellets are bad but I do think the birds need a very varied diet to perform well and knowing what grains are carbs and what grains are protein really helps a lot of guys talk about barley like it's gold barley is a carbohydrate then wounder why their tippers won't fly past 10 hours I have had two twenty hour flys on regular bag feed it's knowing what to give them for the job they have to do. And protein is very important.
They are OK, the price is not, the is claim is they are a complete pellet meaning that is all you would have to feed. I think depending on the time of year you would need more fat, or protein
