New loft looks awesome and so do the birds! What brand pellet are you feeding your birds? Having a tough time getting mine to like any I've tried. Thanks

When you first introduce pellets, they don’t usually like them so the best way to get them started eating them is to only give them the pellets for about 3 to 4 days. This way they get used to them then you can mix with the food. The young birds seem to prefer pellets, for some reason, I think because they are so easy to digest

Those red shouldered hawks don’t often hunt my pigeons. But when they do they usually get a bird. It’s weird because they’re so noisy unlike the accipiters that usually go after the birds. I haven’t figured out how the RS hawks can surprise the pigeons?

We have red tailed hawks, but they generally aren’t fast enough to catch a pigeon. The ones we worry about are the Cooper’s Hawks. They ambush the pigeons, but if they miss, they usually don’t chase them they just go back in the woods and Hyde waiting for them to land at the Loft again. Very frustrating because they will keep the pigeons flying for hours and tire them out.

@@Rocky.Ridge.Pigeons I agree the coopers are the worst. I mentioned the red shouldered bc I could hear them screaming in the video. They are a smaller version of the red tail. Brutal too , once one ate a rabbit alive. I usually don’t interfere if it’s not my animals getting attacked, but that was hard to ignore.
