Ferrari Ends Pursuit of Newey to Avoid Dispute with Aston Martin
Adrian Newey will announce his move to the Aston Martin F1 team next week.
Ferrari's interest in signing Adrian Newey has cooled as the Scuderia does not want to get involved in a bidding war with Aston Martin, Motorsport.com understands .
Newey will be announced at Aston Martin after much speculation over his future, as he prepares to leave Red Bull after 18 years at the Milton Keynes team.
With Newey valued highly due to his success at Red Bull, particularly with the current generation car, he and manager Eddie Jordan - who helped coordinate the deal - are looking for a deal they consider worthy of Newey.
The respected designer was heavily linked with a move to Ferrari when news of his departure from Red Bull broke, and it is understood Ferrari were willing to agree to this.
