The Light and Dark saga has been really amazing, the eternal conflict with the Guardians and the Witness has been a formidable journey, so I’m now very curious to see what the next saga holds
I'm still convinced that Destiny was always very inspired by pre-forerunner/pre-flood humanity from from the Halo universe. Eventually we'll have to deal with the architects of the great machine.
The more I learn of things beyond the existence of The traveler the more I realize it's more like it's own species. Especially when you read the lore that shows how it doesn't know what we or other races wanted it just tried to interpret as best it can. We worship it but it doesn't understand what that means. It would be like a random dog who doesn't know you sticking by your side and just keeping you safe but it doesn't know you, wouldn't that be confusing to try and understand to a degree?
I personally believe that the gardener and winnower are a force beyond light and darkness, If you watch demon slayer now I know this is random asf what has demon slayer got that relates to what I’m about to say, In demon slayer sun breathing is the first and main ability of the breathing techniques whereas others such as water, wind and fire are merely weak copies or derivatives of the original technique that being sun breathing, So let’s imagine that the winnower and gardener are sun breathing, while light and darkness are the derivatives of those entities, This would mean that guardians and the witness only hold a mere fraction of the winnower and gardener’s powers.
When reflecting on D1 and D2, the things that drew us in as players was the lore and story. So many unknowns involving the Golden Age, the exos, prominent families and factions, the iron lords, the “dark” guardians, the Traveler, and many, many more. I think transitioning into a more space exploration based game for Frontiers were be awesome. Perhaps a combo of Mass Effect and Warframe. Allow us to discover new species of friends and foe. Allow us to travel to different solar systems and planets. Allow us to adequately harvest materials and resources. Allow us to choose our paths more.
