Nice repair. I got a spare rx590 that was barely ever used.It started going black screen under load. It seems looking around I had to underclock the core a little bit from stock and it works again. Sapphire nitro with edit: samsung chips.
Hey uhm I know it's been 6 months since this video but I'm running out of ideas A friend of mine has a "xfx rx 580 gtr xxx" that is overheating. He had it for 4-5 years. The fans seems to be spinning weakly. The PC recognizes the temperature to be 93° but the fan just don't spin fast. Tried to change fan speed in the settings and they cannot be controlled. Tried to change the thermal paste and maybe I made it a bit worse? Could be the increasing summer heat tho. Updated video card driver And nothing works. I don't even know what I could text next. I'm at the point of suggesting him to get a big fan and point it on the gpu
My jio shuo rx580 2048sp brought last year runs in 65°C ( fans run in 1900rpm ) in apex legends maximum graphics settings . Then there's not really a need to change the paste or pad correct ?
Hello, thanks for the video, help me a lot, i was becoming insane, like 80°, no gaming just in the desktop, can you tell me the termal pads side? So i search and order, thanks again
🤔Thermal Pads too thick ??? Person who did this too thick. Yeah no need to replace Thermal Pads unless you tear them doing a Thermal Paste change, but then if you do tear them measure the originals & buy matching thickness.
@@Dandan-tg6tjYeah lol I recently did a repaste on four RX 580s and the thermal pads weren't in the best shape, just ordered new thermal pads for them.
What is the thermal pad sizes ?

You should create a bingo card for faulty GPUs when taking a look at them for the first time.
Too thick pads, never cleaned, bent PCB etc

Try using msi after burner and then setiing a custom fan curve form in there or just setting then slider to 100
thank you
Have you tried K5-Pro? It's a goopy product that is made to replace pads.

I would say definitely no. My rx580 is reaching 85C playing WoW so Im really looking for repaste options.
@@EnhancedNightmare . I see. Try using thermal grizzly paste and pads.
@@HeMan6508 The Pads sizes are giving me a headache. I need to use this PC now and I can't disassemble and then order pads xD
@@EnhancedNightmare . I see . Which rx580 did u buy ? Jio shuo itself ?

This is why I like thermal putty.
Ugh no.
Rather get the soft pads that can be squished by 0.5mm
What's a thermal putty and where to get it ?

All RX 580 need to have thermal pads changed. All of them.

I didn’t find it that funny. Do you also laugh when a kid doesn’t know how to spell. They were probably doing the best they could 🤦♂️
yea it's not funny, it's HILARIOUS how dumb people can be, always do proper research before diy'ing your thing
