- Come take a look through our 2021 Lotus Trooper, we show you what we have changed and why as we tour around Australia full time. This is our second Lotus Trooper and have gone from the 21.6ft to the 23.3ft triple bunk.
We show you the battery system we use to live off grid full time and how much water we are able to carry. Full weights, lengths and everything in between.

We are a family of 5 travelling Australia indefinitely in our new Lotus Caravan and our 2021 F350 from Harrison F-Trucks. We will take you to many destinations and let you know what works for us and what doesn’t, so you don’t make the same mistakes.
We are from Perth Western Australia and want to see as many destinations as we can together as a family, we never take the easy road and if we see a track, we always wonder where it will lead us, so we generally take it to see where it leads.

The US needs more options like this! The Overlanding community will start getting a little older eventually and roof top tents will be less appealing. I have a family of 6 and something like this for offgrid camping would be a wonder!
That's is the ultimate camper. Wish we had something to that in the USA.

@@lappingtheisland We have the Black Series which is the best travel trailer in my opinion, on the US market. Lotus makes the Black Series look inferior. Lotus needs to get a dealer in the US.

Hey mate. We have pretty much the exact copy. A few things we have learned. The old 23-3 layout for the bunks was better. We have had both. If you close the door to the kids room it gets stinking hot in summer and the aircon can’t get down there. The ATX upgrade is worth every cent 👍
We had to put some tape up where the roller on the door runs against the awning. It slowly wears through.
If they put Seaflo pumps in get rid of them they are cheap and nasty and will fail eventually. Get Shurflo installed if you haven’t already.
We had a grey water diversion setup put in. It’s one of our best upgrades. Saves that grey water tank filling up with fat and hair from the wife. Just turn the valve run the grey water straight out past the tank. Tell wifey to be really aware what she cleans the black tap fittings with. Anything too harsh will take them back to bear brass. Get a SOG installed on the toilet. You will thank me. We replaced the wooden slats on the queen bed with a solid base. Sleep like a baby now. We have been living in vans since 2019 a good sleep is important. Wifey home schools and the kids are excelling. That’s about all I can think of right now. If you get stuck flick me a message. @@lappingtheisland yes same layout but it’s an OffGrid with 2 bunks. Have upgraded to 300ah with Redvision and inverter

Nice van I like most off the mods shorter lounge , I’d go back to two bunks but I don’t have kids either but I have toys so they would be used differently, everything else looked quite good thanks

Good choice to go big American 🇺🇸 truck rather than our small Aussie utes which shouldn’t be carrying more than 2.5 tonnes, let alone 3.5tonnes. Very nice mate. Just found your channel and looking forward to see more of the videos.

Your lucky very few Campers allow so many modifications as you have done unless your buying a huge very expensive ones. I am looking at Black Series here in the States. Seems like Lotus is similar but has far more options.

Hi...Kids' bedroom is away & separated (with an additional sliding door) from the kitchen. Your sleeping space is part of the kitchen...It would have been nice if it could be separated from the kitchen...Because/and what what about all the cooking odors ? Don't get me wrong, very nice caravan though

its great, it probably could of been 1 slide longer to get it out a bit further but it actually worked really well as when it was windy it protected the flame from the wind and never blew out.
Did I miss you talking about how much solar you had? And can I ask why you didn’t go a composting toilet given you sound like you will be doing a fair bit of off grid…
We have 5 x 175 watt solar panels. We didn’t go composting toilet as we have 3 young children and they struggle to get it in the bowl with the toilet we have now.

Lotus caravans make them and they come with the van. We just choose where we want them.
Can we get one in the United States?
Can you shower and clean the dishes at the same time?? With instant hot water???
It does affect the shower temp, so I only do that when the wife is in the shower.

Some helpful feedback to put your channel up there with legends like 4xOverland and Ronny Dahl - drop the woman and her "literally" everything exaggeration. Just make it about you, the build, the travel and the odd shot of kids having fun

I was trying to say she could tone down the literally and hyper exaggeration and her message would be better communicated. This comment. It’s amazing how narrow minded some people are. This is the same mind numbing comments people use to make to us when we lived & travelled for the best part of a decade.
Normally the same people live in 500m2 houses with 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms 🙄 and feel obliged to open their traps without thinking.
How bout you try to live in a tent full time with 3 kids while you travel Australia & please provide us with entertainment by doing a YT channel, it will be a hoot 🤦♂️
