Enjoyable tournament, but again the multis are absurd - even if you must have them, the speed at which they go up is just too much and undermines the outcome of the games. Orlando would have won the Final by winning the 4th game if there were no multis, or they just didn't increase as much. It just seems wrong that tournaments should be decided by such an arbitrary layer added on top of what the players are doing and which doesn't accurately reflect the relative skill of the players' guesses across each game. The very first game of the first match today also demonstrated the way in which the multipliers really aren't fair.- CG won basically every single round, but Flyme won the game just because of the last multi round in India. If there was a different round order then CG would have won it. CG came through that match in the end, but it showed the multis clearly have too much of an impact. You also saw the exact same thing with the first game of Orlando vs Jake Lyons - Orlando won basically every round, but only lost the game because of the 5.5X final round (which also just happened to be US). It was a totally undeserved game win for JL. I've seen an argument for multis that they allow for comebacks, but a comeback should not be facilitated when they're so undeserved. The fact that CG and Orlando both still won their matches overall showed that you don't even need multipliers to have "comebacks" if the matches are best of 5 games (though not so much with just best of 3 as there's less room for error). Some people also claim the multis make things more "entertaining", but I don't find it entertaining to see players who played better across a game unfairly losing the game. No sports have such a silly scoring mechanic but they're still plenty entertaining to watch. It breaks some of the engrossment and suspension of disbelief to have such a silly and strange additional dynamic. If you must have multis for potential extra "drama", or to act as tie-breakers, then their impact should be significantly reduced and they should be introduced later on, e.g. have the rounds worth: 1 1 1 1 1 1 1.5 2 2.5 3. But really they're unnecessary and undermine the integrity of the competition, especially given its claim to find the best Geoguessr player. Both players in the final were excellent, but if the rules were more balanced then there likely would have been a different winner.
i agree, there were several games where both players blundered but one got lucky and blundered early into the match and survived while the other didn't, and that doesn't reward the better player, just the lucky one.

tbh the "professional casters" do not add a lot of value and are honestly quite annoying, I think it's much more entertaining to have a caster who is actually knowledgeable in the game....maybe it's a different story if geoguesser players like rainbolt or zigzag didn't have camera presence or confidence when casting, but they do, so I don't really see the value in having non-geoguessr players casting
I disagree. I don't want to just hear rainbolt talking 500 words per minute for hours on end. Plenty of esports have good production with color commentary and a play by play that is a better commentator even if they aren't an expert in the game. It's nice to break things up and have a lighthearted personality that isn't purely analysis continuously
@@theoafman9068no there really isn’t. Name a game where the casters don’t know
I honestly think they add some action to the game.
@@MrCguy24 in pro sports plenty of play by play casters weren't professional players (in fact most weren't)... People like MonteCristo weren't pro league of legends players and he even transitioned to overwatch league. Shout casting / play by play in both esports and professional sports hasn't and doesn't require being a "pro" or "expert".
@@theoafman9068 Yes but those commentators are always accompanied by people who are very knowledgeable about the game
change the other commentator.. only yelling
2:34:08 nah you know exactly what you meant
nevermind its a little too ambiguous now cause i thought of kanye....
Nah u right
Lol the captions say Petoria, Peter Griffin's sovereign state
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷 GGWP Orlando!! Sabe muito!
Parabéns Orlando, representou demais!
I hear a lot of criticism of Pala, but I would just like to point out that the man has EPIC hair. :)
4:00:12 Classic Gamer moment

1:45:37 epic!
L for making the game cost
no need to dog pile anymore, but hopefully take it in stride and learn from the experience, you can grow and learn or take it personally and feel dejected. you've got it, you just need to hone it and practice mr. pala.

Why is the commentator dude not in the competition? He seems to know every location
Cause he's the subject matter expert there to commentate. Plus he's gettin paid way more to broadcast than the players probably
It's so fun knowing Pala's voice from CS tournaments and meeting him here again, it instantly makes it more fun to watch
Shout out gingey, honestly puts a smile on me he so cool !
PERFECT TO SLEEP
Please guesser team do not put Paul on the finals or at least tell him to calm down and not interupt rain bolt.
9/10, point away for pala screaming and fake hyping even in moments where there is no hype needed, watch the comments, hundreds of likes for comments about him
Someone get bloom and pando there
Bloom was there at the analyst desk
Orlando sold me so hard 😂
