    Nice, also great that you could break it in with a catch and glad you sorted out the seat.

    I have the older pelican catch 100 and my wife just bought me a used Pelican catch 100 classic the other day. Now i have 2. Catch 100s are good kayaks. Never had any issues.

      Glad to hear that! Hopefully very soon, I'll be able to get out and put some better fish in mine! Thanks for the comment!😎🎣

    Good video. Looks like what it lacked in stability it made up for in how well it paddled.

    • @Midwesthookset

      I'm 5'8. I dont think height matters as much as weight but the kayak does have a pretty decent weight capacity. Thanks for watching and good luck!

    So with the 4 holes in the kayak, thats called like self bailing scuffold holes or something, do those have to be plugged or can u just use the kayak

    • @Midwesthookset
      @Midwesthookset  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, scupper holes. Good to leave em unplugged in choppy water so any water that splashes in, drains out. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks a bunch for the review! I enjoyed the fishing moment, too. I've been eyeing this kayak for a while now. It will be my first kayak and I want to learn how to fish from a boat and this one seems good for that. I also like to take my dog everywhere with me and this is one of the few with higher weight limits and a nice wide front section. I also just need to get out on the water to relax and float a while. IYO, would you say this kayak is a good beginner kayak?

    • @Midwesthookset
      @Midwesthookset  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it! I would reccomend it to a beginner. It's a good kayak. Also, its an affordable option that will let you decide if you want to invest in a more expensive one.

    I like it! That one is almost the same as mine. I have the Pelican Icon, I think the main difference is that my seat sits a bit lower. Unfortunately pelicans aren’t very stable, but they’re really lightweight which is a plus

    • @Midwesthookset

    I'm thinking about getting this kayak, but I'm a smaller body and was hoping to be able to stand up while fishing. Do you think I could stand and fish at around 130 body weight?

    I just bought this one. I do prefer to have the seat lower in the kayak. Feels more stable right now. Maybe after I get my lake legs I'll raise it back up. Have not fished in a craft for 20 years.

    • @Midwesthookset
      @Midwesthookset  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Midwesthookset It's not bad pulling it out from the back of my pick-up and setting it down(8foot bed). how ever picking it up from ground level is not as easy. 57 and not in the best of shape anymore but still manageable.

    Looks amazing. You have some things that are VERY similar to me. I put my worm bag in the exact same spot as well (it’s a KVD one with a non-slip type of material…it never moves).
