I have the older pelican catch 100 and my wife just bought me a used Pelican catch 100 classic the other day. Now i have 2. Catch 100s are good kayaks. Never had any issues.
Really nice kayak!!! And awesome review!!! I've wanted a kayak for a while because there so portable but that might get me in trouble lol!!! Thanks for sharing brother
Great review and nice balance with that standing up. At least you broke it in with a fish, don't care the size. Good to see you got the seat issue fixed too. Well done!!!
Thanks a bunch for the review! I enjoyed the fishing moment, too. I've been eyeing this kayak for a while now. It will be my first kayak and I want to learn how to fish from a boat and this one seems good for that. I also like to take my dog everywhere with me and this is one of the few with higher weight limits and a nice wide front section. I also just need to get out on the water to relax and float a while. IYO, would you say this kayak is a good beginner kayak?
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it! I would reccomend it to a beginner. It's a good kayak. Also, its an affordable option that will let you decide if you want to invest in a more expensive one.
Definitely a nice yak to get you around. Glad you figured out the seat issue! I would’ve been hard pressed to not go back out there for a few hours after that tho lol
Well, I will definitely admit this is one day I know I would've had better luck with a ned rig over the neko. Sooo glad I figured out the seat lol Thanks for watching!😎🎣
I like it! That one is almost the same as mine. I have the Pelican Icon, I think the main difference is that my seat sits a bit lower. Unfortunately pelicans aren’t very stable, but they’re really lightweight which is a plus
I'm thinking about getting this kayak, but I'm a smaller body and was hoping to be able to stand up while fishing. Do you think I could stand and fish at around 130 body weight?
I just bought this one. I do prefer to have the seat lower in the kayak. Feels more stable right now. Maybe after I get my lake legs I'll raise it back up. Have not fished in a craft for 20 years.
That's awesome! I'm really liking mine! I love how lightweight it is, compared to the others I've had. So quick and easy, getting on and off the water. Tight lines!
@@Midwesthookset It's not bad pulling it out from the back of my pick-up and setting it down(8foot bed). how ever picking it up from ground level is not as easy. 57 and not in the best of shape anymore but still manageable.
Looks amazing. You have some things that are VERY similar to me. I put my worm bag in the exact same spot as well (it’s a KVD one with a non-slip type of material…it never moves). Question: Where did you get that thing you wrap your anchor rope around? I NEED that in my life 😂 Great video man. Kayak looks like a winner.
Thanks brother! I'm pretty sure my worm bag is a KVD as well. This is my anchor line and winder. Cold Zero 550LB Paracord/Parachute Cord - Authentic Mil-Spec Type III - Same Paracord Used by US Military (Mil-C-5040H TIII) a.co/d/aOm96ju. @@Midwesthookset it needs a skeg though lol to track easier I don't know if that motor will allow it to track easy. I wan't to put it in the back but have my battery in the front. I need someone to help me do this lol
@@Midwesthookset yeah they not that bad for the price. I see these other ones for twice as much with the foot pedals. I am thinking about geting that too
Nice, also great that you could break it in with a catch and glad you sorted out the seat.
Thanks for watchin brother! I sure was relieved when I figured that out lol😎👍

Glad to hear that! Hopefully very soon, I'll be able to get out and put some better fish in mine! Thanks for the comment!😎🎣
Good video. Looks like what it lacked in stability it made up for in how well it paddled.
Thanks! Honestly a really good kayak for a pretty good price.😎👍

Thanks Patrick! They're definitely the easiest, most convenient way to get on the water, that I've found. Thanks for watching!😎👍
I need a video of you putting on that side thing for the anchor
I do regret not making one
Great vid! How tall are you? What would you say is the max heigh of a person to feel comfortable in this kayak?
I'm 5'8. I dont think height matters as much as weight but the kayak does have a pretty decent weight capacity. Thanks for watching and good luck!
@@Midwesthookset Thanks, good luck! I am 6"3 so I wonder if Catch 100 won't be too small. 😁
@@rudolfsrudzitis931 yeah maybe a 12fter would work better for ya
Aweome yak, dude! I am ready for one of those big stripers you catch to tow you around a lake!
Thanks brother! I need to get on that before the water turns hard!😎🎣
So with the 4 holes in the kayak, thats called like self bailing scuffold holes or something, do those have to be plugged or can u just use the kayak
Yep, scupper holes. Good to leave em unplugged in choppy water so any water that splashes in, drains out. Thanks for watching!

That Kayak looks good! I want to try and get a better one. I like the seats on these. Nice job!
Thanks Cody! I think I'm gonna love it now that I figured out what was wrong with the seat! I need to get back out with it soon.😎🎣

I hear ya. I've had a couple hobies and a feel free Lure and a couple of those plactic 2 man bass boats. Compared to those, this is much lighter
real nice looking yak bro!..glad you figured out the seat..gonna be a much better ride next time haha 👍👍
Thanks man! And yes, 100x better now lol. Appreciate ya watching!😎🎣
whats the measurement of the rear tank well ? just bought this kayak trying premod it before it gets here
Just measured. Tankwell measures 16" from front to rear, 17" across, in the rear, and 20" across, in the front.
@MidWest HookSet thank you very much, I was gonna get a Engel cooler with rod holders attached to put behind me
@MidWest HookSet than again walmart is having a last year blow out sale on coolers, I can attach rod holders to and save 100.00 bucks lol
I hear ya, I got to use an Engle aerated bait cooler on an ice fishing trip this year. Pretty nifty! Hey thanks for the sub!😎👍
