    Look at other reviews, To fix the seat a owner used rubber plugs that fit over the tube for 5 bucks at a hardware store, I recommend a Minnkota trolling motor with Idrive, This will allow you to hit anchor on your remote and it will keep you on the spot use GPS and allows you to enjoy fishing while being in the prefect spot without drifting, Be sure to go for the light weight lithium battery and I’ve seen some with fish finders and blue light inside the kayak which was cool as hell, I’m glad you posted this because it made up my mind on what I want, Cheers bud and happy fishing 😎🇨🇦

      I appreciate the recommendations! The chair leg tips work perfectly and that is by far the easiest and cheapest fix for this kayak. I am contemplating the trolling motor as that is what the TR is intended for, but I would need to then register it in my state. Not a huge deal, just hoping for as little hassle and maintenance as possible. Good luck and hope you are happy with your decision!

    Thank you for the review!! I'm considering getting into kayak fishing, there are too many good spots by me that I can't get to from the bank.

      It’s a game changer! Most of my bigger fish this year came from the kayak and were places I couldn’t get to from shore or even in a normal sized bass boat. Hope you enjoy it if you get one!

    Dang your gear looks a bit like mine haha. I have a Curado DC as well. Different rod though. I use the Chatterbait EVO more than anything, I need to try the minimax one of these days. I just picked up the Catch Mode 110 on Friday, upgrading from a Lifetime Kenai kayak. I’ve only taken it out a bit because it’s been cold but so far so good! I got the little rubber chair tips for the legs because of seeing many comments online about the chair movement. Such a huge improvement over my old lifetime. Much more storage space.

    • @608fishing

      It’s the only kayak I have owned, so I am probably biased, but I am very happy with it. The chair tips are a must! Hope you enjoy yours!

    I bought mine over the winter because it was a lot cheaper at the time (20% off on Amazon). Even at the full price of $800 I think this thing is a great deal when you consider that right now most angler kayaks are going to be around $400-450 on average. Maybe you could find one for $350 if you're lucky, but they're usually more. They may be around 10 lbs lighter, but also several inches narrower and can hold much less weight. I think the 110 is the absolute best bang for your buck available and there's so much room to add to it. An anchor/gripper is always good. A quality net. I'd also suggest a rod holder on a track mount. I plan on getting a fish finder for mine this week (mainly for depth/structure), but all-in-all this thing is great because you can either use it as is or modify it how you like relatively easily. Oh, and as others mentioned: 3/4 rubber leg tips are perfect to keep it snug as a bug.

    The models with the skag for tracking work perfectly fine in low water as they have been made to swing up if you encounter an obstacle. Rolling them up and down into place is super easy. The only thing you wouldn't want to do is backup onto shore with the skag down. However, the skag doesn't only help with navigation but it makes the boat more stable as well. It was interesting to see the TR model. The pedal models are the ones to avoid if you are frequently in low water.

    • @608fishing
      @608fishing  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I appreciate the insight! And it might have been an irrational worry, but I was concerned if not anchored and I floated backwards or sideways into rock or timber there might have been a chance to break. And after seeing some reviews online where they were shipped and received broken I worried about durability.

      So I bought the Newport Kayak 55lb thrust to go on this kayak. I just bought them at Amazon, how do you manage steering your motor? A tiller or a custom setup?

    • @608fishing
      @608fishing  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Michael-s2p3p I actually don’t have a trolling motor on mine and exclusively use a paddle. In Wisconsin if I threw a trolling motor on it I would have to also register it. Hey! How about paddling with Mode 110 against the current? Have you tried it? Since its fairly wide I suppose its rather hard to paddle against the current?

    • @608fishing
      @608fishing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven’t taken it out on any substantial current, but in a couple other videos I have taken it out in 15 mph head winds. Because it is a little more wide there is some drag, but it wasn’t a struggle by any means.

    • @Dilborg
      @Dilborg 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a one-or-the-other setup. At the end of the day, the model with the skag can still easily be used without the skag and still hold a trolling motor so the advantage is to get the model with the skag. Is there a significant price difference? The skag is not only useful for tracking but also adds some stability. I don't see why the skag would not be used unless you were going white water kayaking, in which case, this is not the right kayak.

      It is a Curado DC 6.2:1 and a Dobyns Fury 7’ 0” MH fast. The rod is lighter action than a normal MH, so it’s my favorite for minimax chatterbaits and smaller crankbaits.

    That is a nice kayak you have man. I am looking for a 2nd kayak for a backup kayak for someone who doesn't have a kayak to go out with me in. I think you would be ok standing up on the kayak Once you do more of it. ( practice makes perfect ) but you did very well when you did do it. I also like your Crocs man. Those are great sandals to wear for kayaking 🛶 man. I like how they Float when they come off of your feet 🦶 in the water. I have 6 boys & they all have very wide feet 🦶 & they fit them just fine & they all hate close toes footwear because they crush & hurt there feet 🦶 & toes. I have big & very very Extremely wide feet 🦶 sz15 6E wide ( which is very very extremely wide feet 🦶 ) with very very extremely chubby fat wide toes that are Evenly straight across making my foot very very Extremely wide at 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe & i have the same problem with my feet 🦶 & toes getting crush with close toes footwear. The only footwear that I can wear is flip flops 🩴which barely & i mean barely fit on my feet 🦶 because my toes are wider than the flip flops 🩴straps. Good video buddy thanks you for sharing it.

      Plenty of automatic/manual inflatable PFD fishing jackets out there for ultimate comfort. Really depends on how much you want to spend and the PFD laws in your region. Not all areas allow for manual inflatable PFDs.
