Sonic the Hedgehog is a 2006 action-adventure platform video game developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. A reboot of the Sonic the Hedgehog series, the game was produced in commemoration of the series' fifteenth anniversary, and was the first in the franchise released for seventh generation video game consoles. The story follows three hedgehogs-Sonic, Shadow, and Silver-who battle Solaris, an ancient evil pursued by Doctor Eggman. Gameplay is split into three separate campaigns for the hedgehogs, each of whom have their own unique abilities and must complete a series of levels to advance the story.

One time my sister was playing as Silver with Amy following him and Amy suddenly drowned. Her body reappeared in front of the accordion man and it was the most ominous thing ever.
Happened to one of my friends when she was playing as Sonic and had Tails with her.
HOLY SHIT I THOUGHT THAT ONLY HAPPENED TO ME. My sister was playing as Sonic and had Tails following close behind. We were in the beginning of the game where sonic just meets up with Tails in the city. As soon as the animation stopped playing, my sister turned around and ran into Tails. Tails started to glitch out, and before we knew it he had just, drowned on land. He never respawned though, and didn’t appear until we left that level.
I haven’t played the game in a while, and this happened years ago so if there are any details that are wrong it’s probably due to me not remembering anything about this sad game

Over 12 minutes and I highly doubt you've even scratched the surface with this game.
this is probably the only compliment for this game, its just has endless potential for glitches.
I like how the thumbnail looks like Sonic is throwing Elise in the dumpster as well.

My first time playing through this game, within the first 5 minutes I glitched myself into a building. When I did the Silver story mission with the billiard balls to get to the goal ring, I used a vase to push the one I needed. Suddenly the vase exploded upon touching the ball, and the ball flew right into where it had to go. I just sat there with my mouth open completely confused.
That ball "puzzle" is the worst.

@Kanashimi Pretty much. Funnily, I learned since writing the original Reply that it is not even a beta, it is an extended alpha xD I really wish they did not force it on the market.

Another crazy Silver fight glitch is that when you’re in the Twilight Zone Soleana there is a chance that Silver will spawn out of nowhere and start chasing/attacking you

DPadGamer I think that they are just so hard to find. You must have taken 12 years to make this. Such brilliant coding cant leave that much room for glitches
more like the whole game is a glitch, therefore the real glitches have to be separated from the rest of the game itself.

Mhm. Jon accidentally performed a Super Jump which propelled him up to a very awful bit of wall collision. A perfect storm of glitchery
DPadGamer Yup, now we know why that famous Game Grump scene happened in that episode of that playthrough. They never fully finished Sonic 06 did they? Also, in the Sonic Adventure 1 playthrough, Danny actually says Sonic 06 was an IMPROVEMENT over Sonic Adventure. People seem to forget that Sonic Adventure 1 also was gllitchy. Like, with Tails you can actually enter the Ice Cap stage early. Just be careful of the blue fog of death and you'll be fine after that. Start performing glitches in Sonic Adventure 1 and you'll see what I mean by blue fog of death.
The jokes here were quite well-executed, fitting well into your calm style while being quick enough to pack a good punch. Good job.

Maybe sonic 06 is somehow so glitchy that some glitches aren't glitches but exploits. Oh wait no, it's just because sonic 06 has so many small bugs that glitches are actually rare.

RBRat3 Naw, it was because the game was rushed for the release date. If SEGA could've worked on it abit longer, we would not have the unfinished Sonic 06 we have today.

Rena Kunisaki Don't joke about that, from where she's from, she's both the Sonic and the Knuckles of her reality. Acts somewhat in Sonic's style of doing things in life, and is the guardian of her own set of Emeralds, like Knuckles is with the Master Emerald and Chaos Emerald. She was being harsh to Marine in Sonic Rush Adventure to actually protect her one time, so she isn't afraid to be mean if it helps getting her point across.

1:02 I had that problem last week when I was playing that level. Thankfully, after a few restarts, the glitch didn't happen again. It only happened, like, three times.
I'll bet that all Sonic games after this have been using 06 as a reference...

Anjolie Barrios I actually have seen a glitch in that boss fight where the Egg Wyverb actually ends up defeating itself. It was not the glitch in this video, but nobody was doing anything to it at the time, then suddenly, it just dies! I feel like I fought it myself, but last I remember in that game, I was still stuck on the Crisis City mach speed section.

ummm, those level designs look awful, if anything the glitches are the lifesaver, well, at least the skip to credits one.

am I the only person who realized how terrible Elise's father was in this game. I mean he makes almost every single hateable character, villain, hellish being, hell itself and real life bad guy combined look ∞ times better than every real life and fictional hero, likable character, holy God and heaven combined by comparison on how awful he is. and this is coming from the person who seen a lot of unlikable characters from reviews by the Mysterious Mr Enter, Bobsheaux and other critics as well as seeing unlikable characters myself like Jeffy from Super Mario Logan. The reason I say this is because he almost destroyed the universe or turned into a terrible place with a lab experiment on the 2 God like forms called ibilis and mephilis. he unleashes ibilis out and then he puts the form in his daughter then tells her not to cry despite dying in front of the 8 year old princess. mephilis was also released which means that the forms could have combined to make Solaris which is a creature capable of turning everything into hell or destroying everything. plus there's no excuse because Elise just went inside the lab without any explanation. she could have been somewhere else, but since she's in the Lab that means that the Duke didn't hire any guards. plus Elise's father could have put the flames of disaster into someone else other than a child.
I mean could there be a worse character out there?
Plus, the reason he did this is so that he could see his dead wife again.

That Chao music gave me so much nostalgia. I need to play Adventure 2 again.
Man, I remember using the red shoe gem, holding the trigger and dieing. I'd respawn and be permanently red gem-ed, this combined with the sky gem broke the skybox pretty consistently...
My favorite thing about sonic 06 is either
A: the devs lucked out and encountered zero bugs or glitches in all playthroughs
B: they were to lazy to correct the bugs, and my personal favorite,
C: they didn’t play test
it's c. they were rushed to release it and half the team was working on Secret Rings

They are definitely trash tho. At least half the time spent recording was loading screens, it just didn't seem necessary to bring it up in the video.

The thing with Omega can also be done with Silver, allowing near-infinite flight time because there's lag between when you start hovering and when the gauge starts to deplete. My brother and I defeated Iblis' second form without ever learning how to pick up the supermassive magma rocks because of this.

Wow, there really is just constantly at least one glitch happening at all times in this game, isn't there? I mean good lord, I remember receiving this game as a child, and I *loved* Sonic back then! Imagine how frustrated I was when I couldn't even make it *to* the first level, let alone beat it.
When I first saw the trailer for this game when it first came out, the cinematic trailer blew my young mind when it first came out. I’m glad I never got the game.
Based on E3 footage, it legitimately looked better... but games often dont live up to that vertical slice.

I didn't know Sonic 06 had glitches. It's insanely well made just look how easy it is to clip through a wall.
This game was my childhood, i had crazy fun with those glitches before knowing they were a bad thing, i was 6

I still loved playing the game with my godbrother as we were big sonic fans,yet we didnt find any glitches and the game ran perfectly,so it was hard to understand why everyone hated the game until now.

The platform and vine not loaded glitch may be exclusive to the PS3 version, I've never encountered it in the 360 version.
People always miss the second thing the box can do: kick once so it hops up, then let it land. It shoots up abruptly.
No joke, when I was done with level with the ball pushing with Silver, the in game timer was at around 86 minutes.

Theres also this one glitch I came across randomly that replaced Silver's face with whatever assets he comes into contact with. Like a giant computer, a box, whatever. No clue how I made that happen

I would love to see a video of someone beat the game without any glitches
On the PS3 version, if you don't have enough speed when you reach the bottom of the snowboard jump ramp in White Acropolis, Sonic will just fall through the slope and die instead. This happened so often and so consistently when I did my first run of the stage that I thought I'd somehow softlocked the game and couldn't progress.
Your pronunciation of "wyvern" hurts me in the soul, but good vid nonetheless. This game will go down in history as the modern E.T. Loved the "It's like flying by sitting on a chair and pulling up" part.

Ah Yes I remember experiencing the infinite Silver Battle. "ITS NO USE....ITS NO USE.....ITS NO USE.....ITS NO USE!" Game design at its pinnacle for sure.

A few years ago, I discovered a glitch with Sonic's sky gem.
During the Silver boss fight, go up against the wall on the left side of the arena, then throw the sky gem up and on the wall while still up against the wall. This should send you flying out of the arena and you will be able to explore the town. This way you can get out guaranteed instead of relying on the slim chance when being caught in the corner by Silver.
Note: Though I remember it being very easy and consistent, it has been a few years since I did it, so it might actually not work 100% of the time. But still, it does work.
