Honestly, you’ve got to pave your route to financial freedom and work towards that goal. Identify what you want to be in life and outline the baby steps you need to take to get there. The sooner you start, the better you’ll be because time can never be gained back. The cost of living in NY today unfortunately, requires one to have a 6 figure salary or more. This is why many people consider moving out at some point. I believe you mentioned liking to learn languages so I would explore more about other translator career options if that’s your passion. Another effective way to increase your salary is to job hop. There may be other companies that pay more for the same position you are doing. If you find one, why not apply. Stay with them for about 6 months and repeat the process again. In one year, I was increase my salary by 250% doing this. LinkedIn is also great for networking as well. Connect with recruiters and go from there.
Another great option, if you go the social media route instead, is to do more content about languages, their origin, and what interested you in them, etc.
It’s a process for sure but I know I’m doing the right things but there’s different factors that make it hard. My mom doesn’t work, she uses the kitchen a lot and we’re always sharing space so it’s hard to meal prep and do my responsibilities
Yeah I understand what you mean regarding the struggles of sharing spaces. I’ve been in a similar situation and trying to get privacy can definitely be a hassle. Regarding the job hopping strategy, I was mentioning to try and switch jobs after every 6 months to somewhere that gives higher pay until you get to the desired salary you want.

Well you have to work two job because if you want to get ahead AND accomplish anything. Yes things were cheaper before for example im 36 and for 90% of my life i lived with my parents. In fact i recently moved two years ago because my parents decided to retire overseas since America is going to shit! Personally im successful because im literally always working from my day job to my businesses. And if you want to increase your income you NEED to increase your skills
@@aim-for-greatn3z947 because saving for a major expense is challenging . I’m saving at least $800 every two weeks. But like I said, the cost of living is not proportionate to what we make at our jobs and even with my professional job as an interpreter it’s still hard.

Don't know your age but I'm 36 and I started my investing career on a McDonald's pay, so it's possible.... Most don't have the determination or ambition though. But a plan is a MUST I pray you have one at least.

What do you mean? Ive saved up 1,000. I lost my job in April… started working this current job in October
