Thank you again for bringing the D & C to life for me and to feel the love our Savior and our Heavenly Father has for each one. The piece on 107 and 108 really spoke to me about accepting his forgiveness and also his acceptance of our service and how important it is to strengthen our brothers and sisters.

29 Minutes to 32 Minutes i had to pause and soak in what the Spirit was teaching me about gratitude!! Thanks be to thy name !! Thanks for covenants !! Thanks for thy promises!!! We did it because of the strength we get from the Savior!! Thankyou!! We do everything from the perspective of gratitude !! We can see clearly now thy wisdom !! The corrective lens is given and its how we see and thou gave it us!! We are not doing anything to buy back our salvation or pay a debt we are doing this as a small token of our gratitude for building the universe, giving us this amazing opportunity to participate in the plan of salvation and partake of thy fullness because of the offering up of thy beloved Son!! We see now thy wisdom oh Lord!! We can have Joy in this life ! We can have eternal life !! Thanks for the Constitution that allowed us to exercise our second amendment while building this holy edifice so we could keep our first amendment. Thanks for letting us be in a country where we could bear arms to protect our right to bear heavenly arms!! Endowed with power and glory to go forth and for the Last time to prune thy vineyard and prepare the earth for the bride to meet its groom!!

I had to go to San Diego for business and actually stumbled onto the temple as I was going up the road. I was actually leaving the area but I pulled out my cell phone and with tears in my eyes I told my husband that was the most beautiful temple I had ever seen. He said “you need to stay one more day and go to the temple“. I did, and got to go through and was actually a witness with a young missionary. The extravagance of the temple in San Diego is so well done! All temples are beautiful and I love the way that they take in to account the surrounding elements and history. I loved the Albuquerque temple with the southwestern accents that still was respectful of you where it is.

I am one who had a difficult time with Elder Holland’s BYU talk (having two LGBTQ children). I’ve experienced miracles in my life and have a strong testimony of the gospel that I cherish and cling to. But there are many in the LGBTQ community who are leaving the church. 1:37:20 - 1:40:15 brought me to tears. I appreciate the looking at both side of leaning- that those that don’t understand why people were hurt- that they might be leaning too far to the side of law and justice instead of love and tolerance. May we all learn to walk perfectly in the middle. Now in my prayers:
“Please help us with thy grace, assisting us to say “thy will be done”.

I know it’s hard. 3 members of my family identify with atypical sexual or gender identities and I love them dearly. I hesitate to the the term LGBQ community. Anything that sets one group of people in an identifiable community also sets them apart from everyone else and we need more unity and less division. And a lot more love! The more love we give, the more everyone has!

I know of a family visiting San Diego from China over ten years ago. Passed by the San Diego Temple on the free way, it left an impression on them. On their way back to LA, they visited the temple visiting center. They were so impressed by the missionaries there, they decide to look into the church. Now they are members of the church , used to live in Cedar Hills because the father is going to BYU.

For me, they remind me of how it felt when I first found the church, and remind me of how precious this knowledge is that we have been gifted with. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is an incredible treasure and it is good to be reminded of that. Have a great week, Sister Wu.

1:44 (ish) “How long” I wanted to share how the Lord answered that for me once. My son suffered from depression and had to come home from the MTC after just 2 weeks. For 7 years we tried to everything to get him functioning again. At times this high school valedictorian could not even read a sentence or comprehend what was being read to him. Because I was called as an EM seminary teacher i started attending an adult Institute class- they were finishing up the OT and the teacher was explaining the concept of Jubilee, how every 7 years the Lord expected the Israelites to start fresh. I had the clearest impression sitting in that class at that moment, “This November will be 7 years for ____, and he will start to get better.” In 2 months from that revelation he was so much better, and 6 months later he was working and taking Pathway classes. He still has depression and anxiety, but he has goals and is functioning. I also received an answer to my ,”Why?” question - it is sacred so I won’t share- but the Lord is definitely more wise than I am❤️

Brother Halverson, your teaching is magnifical! Some of my favorite words are malaprops or made up words, especially those uttered by second language speakers. Their "mistakes" are often spot on and convey a whole other meaning. Once a dear sister from another country asked the Lord to "boister" us when we feel discouraged. I loved it! I will be using magnifical in my discriptions of wonderful things now!

1:17:20 Jesaja 56 "Name and Standing" and the Eunuchs... I loved it. He thinks of everybody! I felt seen
1:39:20 "justice and law" don't lean.. stand!

29:34 When God asks you to give your all or to do hard things "You're welcome" isn't what you pray. You give thanks... I can relate to the blessing of sacrifice and doing hard things or living through difficult experiences. The relationship that developed between me and the Savior and the Father would not have come any other way. "Is there no other way?" Eve once asked. No. There is no other way for that kind of bond and connection to be created between us and diety, except the hard way. Because it puts us in a position to be made aware of of how much we need Him.

1:24:36 on striking a balance between justice and mercy and an earlier comment from Isaiah 56:4 (maybe 1:16) are parts of your lesson we hope to share with our granddaughter who is struggling with Church's teachings concerning those with same-sex attraction and gay marriage. She was worried about how to answer the temple interview questions about sustaining leaders. She has a tender-heart that often errs on the side of mercy for some of her friends' sake, but wants to also be obedient to the law. Thank you for this insight, especially bringing our attention to the beautiful verses in Isaiah. Truly, "great are the words of Isaiah".

2 hours and 22 minutes of inspiration in:
I particularly enjoyed learning how Section 109 reads as a glorious prayer, with Section 110 following one week later on Easter Sunday as the Lord’s exquisite answer - accompanied by His (our Savior’s) presence, followed thereafter by Moses, Elias and the foretold Elijah- each with their unique bestowal of “power from on high”, in abundant response to Section 109’s prayerful pleadings.

Thank you so much for your teaching! Its been such a blessing to my wife and I over the last year. Its added so much to our « Come Follow Me » experience! In this week’s introduction you mentioned how our temples are « personalized » to our different cultures. It brought to mind a little known fact in «our » Hague Temple. The mural in the first endowment room depicts nature using local plants and animals. Beautifully done! Tucked discreetly in a small corner are a couple of windmills. Not exactly part of the first creation! Rumor has it that when the artist came to Holland to paint the mural she just couldn’t resist sneaking in the windmills. In any case, when I attend the endowment session I look for those small windmills. They remind me that the Lord is mindful us and our small part of the vineyard.

Starting at about 57:10, about symbolism in the temple. When I went to the temple yesterday, I asked the Lord to help me see symbolism I hadn't understood before, and I think I learned almost as much yesterday in the endowment session than in the past 40 + years of temple attendance. And it's not like I didn't search the scriptures in the temple before looking for meaning in different ordinances! Well, actually I've spent more time studying the initiatory ordinances. But anyway, thank you so much for teaching us about this. I was really blown away.

When talking about the temple, I love the archaic definition of the plural word mysteries, as in the mysteries of the kingdom. Here are a few versions: the secret rites of Greek and Roman pagan religion, or of any ancient or tribal religion, to which only initiates are admitted."…..secret religious rites, things not to be divulged," borrowed from Greek mystḗrion, plural mystḗria "religious rite to which only initiates may be admitted, secret.” It’s so great we use that word as initiatory work as we are initiated into a knowledge of religious rites that are sacred and prepare us to be initiated into the presence of God.
