I am so happy Fender decided to do an early 50's style bass in their production run.

I own the 1960 Vintage 2 version. I am so impressed by the look and tone I might add on this 54.

These are great reviews that really let you hear the bass without tons of slap or talking - just enough on all fronts! Keep it up!

Thanks Mark... I probably still talk too much, but slap is off-limits on these basses! Thanks for watching - Anthony

As usual, absolutely brilliant review. I've purchased a number of basses based on your recommendations, never been disappointed. Thanks man!

Beautiful bass and sounds great. Love it. Early 50s P's are my all-time favorite looking basses as well. Guess I know where my next paychecks will be going...

Love Fender’s decision to have these basses come stock with flats. Sounds so damn good. Wish I could afford one of these.

The Empire 58's are coming in around 8.75lb - 9lb's

These 50s basses came with flat wounds on then I don't even think round wound strings where available I got mine in1999 it was the sting signature bass made in Japan witch I always believed blew everyone else out of the water it's not just that the japanese have and excellent eye for detail and there electronics are the best in the world but I was told that the japanese where given the best woods because of there quality they hold or exceed there value and when I bought mine it was on sale for the amazing price of 400 dollars and out of all the basses I have had over the past 40 years it's definitely my favorite it plays like a dream sounds incredible even before I added a three quarter pound p/u witch basically killed the human that single coils are known for I've played it all these years and just recently changed to flat wounds the two piece bridge is a bit difficult to adjust the international once done its fine and the flats have made it even better I wish I did it years ago because the round wounds really can leave there mark on the frets

actually flats started their life in 1954. the first Pbasses has rounds, with a nickel (usually pure nickel or monel, because that’s what was available in that era for electric guitars), that Fender took from a piano strings producer.
in 1954 Fender and Labella went out with flats.

I'll be holding out for a '70's telebass style with the single humbucker on the neck, love the tone those things put out. I can get close enough to this tone with Labella flats and a .1uF capacitor in my Mexican P-bass with stock pups.

The un-slotted fiber saddles certainly are different, but keep the vintage-vibe strong w/ these. Didn't;t notice it at all while playing. Thanks for watching - Anthony

I don't have a problem with this on my '72 Tele - sometimes some minor compromise is needed, but nothing that affects things too much.

This is Great Sounding Bass; I am not a P with Flats Guy [own Ultra Precision] but wouldn't change anything with that Bass; I know you sell both but the Squire Version you also demoed was awful in comparison

  • @PM-oq6ku
    @PM-oq6ku 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

The 54 P is the true P sound!
    But don't buy an American.
The quality like all American products is bad.
    Buy the Japanese one.
Way cheaper and way better quality!
