Who would have thought that I would enjoy a 700km trip across the top of Queensland so much! I was sad to leave Karumba, but heading into the historic railway site at Blackbull, and the inviting little town of Croydon and the awesome mobile hairdressing couple I met, and then the epic dry river beds around Georgetown… my spirits were definitely lifted!
The highlight of the trip for me was being stopped in the middle of the road as I got closer to Atherton Tablelands by 1,000 head of Brahman cattle, and having a brief but funny conversation with the local stockman (who I thought was very wise!), wondering what the heck a single, petite blonde woman from the city was doing out there towing her MDC XT10E caravan on her own! Believe me, sometimes I wonder too!
I adore Northern Queensland, from the Gulf country across to the East and all the amazing people you meet in between. I hope you love it too.
    Happy travels!
