You are the Rain Saving Master , Jason. Love it. ❇️💕❇️
Exactly I was surprised to see how many homesteaders don't save water. I always collect rain water every time it rains in Texas for my garden. 👍🏽 Great job
So true! thanks!
Very apt topic to be covering after you just went through a hurricane. 😁
I love watching you build things. Very innovative! Keep up the good work!
Ingenious, your homestead is looking so good Jasoon all due to you, Lorraine and Penelope.
This video excited me right from the start. Water is life! The Hawaiian word for wealth is waiwai (water). With Aloha...
Great video , great progress on the homestead too ! Thanks for sharing !!!!! 😊🙏3❤️
Thanks for watching!
Jason and everyone! We have been praying for grace everyday for the affected areas. Blessings from eastern Pennsylvania.
i love your rainwater videos !
Glad you like them!
Great video Jason! Timing couldn't have been better - stay safe as the hurricane season continues!
Thanks 👍
That's how I water my garden when 2020 hit I've save 💧 it's been a blessing 🙌 🙏 love from Virginia ♥️
Thank you for the great review of the many rain catchment set-ups you have made. It inspires me to get busy. Thanks!💦
Great to hear!
Glad you and the family are safe!
I only have tank water on a rural block in New Zealand. Have a water filter on my kitchen tap so my drinking water is filtered. I have 20,000 water storage so have enough for my garden/food forest which is on 😊soak irrigation in summer
Sounds great!
Glad to see ya back!
Great time to put out this Video! Thanks Jason!
Awesome Jason! Many years ago I made a water catchment system to capture water for my washing machine as our well water was so hard that it left deposits on our clothes! I used two black plastic garbage cans that I piggybacked! It worked great! I saved the grey rinse water to use for the next wash load! I was working at Home Depot at the time and the guys in plumbing thought I was a bit wacky but it saved me time and money! The most expensive thing was the pump I used to transfer the water but it paid for itself quickly! Necessity is the mother of invention! We are in the process of getting a new property ready for us to move to next spring! Water catchment and saving is high on our list of projects, even though we have a well!
You do such meticulous work! It's a pleasure to watch.
Hope all is well 🙏 for you and your family be safe please
You have great ideas Jason. Thanks for sharing. Y'all have a Blessed day. Time to start the island for Lorraine🙂🙂🙂
Can't wait!
Love this! I love yall's creativity and this gives me some idea to fix my water system! Stay safe, from Eastern NC!!
So glad!! that is the reason why I made this video. 👍
You could also hook up a pump to a battery. I have a couple of old RV pumps for this purpose. You obviously want to keep that set up protected in a little dog house or something.
I love seeing the rain and water flowing! (from So. Calif.) And you all coming from S. Calif. know how priceless it is!! Love your videos, ingenuity and use of recycle materials you have around is refreshing! I always switch to your channel when I see a new video👋👋👋
it's wild!!
Fantastic video Jason. As an Aussie its hard for me to understand why more people aren't already collecting every drop they can. Most of our country relies heavily on rainwater . In fact during a drought a few years ago ,the gov set up grants for city dwellers to have tiny rain tanks . A lot of bores that are here , prove so high in salinity or minerals that they're barely able to be used anyway or at best onlythose with big money can go deep enoughfor the good water . We have a dam but its been drying up quicker the last few years because we haven't even had minimum rainfall . Every time we put a roof over any structure, the first thing we do is get guttering and tanks on it. No one can survive without water.
Our towns water has had problems for nearly 2 years with breaks in piping and filthy coloured water ,even bad bacteria a few times. It makes me so glad that my family is in control of our own water . Thank you for sharing ❤❤
thanks country mouse! I remember you have been commenting from a long time ago. I do appreciate it!! only people I seen saving rain over here is people that moved from California 🤣
@@SowtheLand I have need here a while. I love watching your family thrive, on the homestead and on Yt. Keep going ❤️
I don't remember seeing that small open shed before. it must be new that you built. You are so handy!
This is so perfect. All the rainwater Catchment projects you've done in one video. Thank you.
🤩
Excellent video Jason!!! Lifesaving information and skills to have for sure! We were without power for a week a few years ago due to a massive freeze event here in the Pacific Northwest, Northwest Oregon specifically. We get plenty of rain, however, in this event, we had no electricity to power our small community well. Thank God I had some preparations in place for an outage. Thanks again for sharing so much of your knowledge and experience!
This is a fantastic educational video. When I have my homestead, I fully intend to set up rainwater collection systems so I can save on my water bill.
You can do it!
Jason, that is wonderful!!!
Tap the bottom or close to and attach clear plastic tube up the side of your tank to give you the level.
I have 6 IBC totes 2 sets of 3 for my garden
you rock!!
Excellent! Thank you for sharing!
great builds, great edit.

Great video Jason. Learned alot and can't wait to install some of these ideas in our setup.
Glad it was helpful!
Nice work Jason, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this great video.
Great video Jason! Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
On the subject of water, find someone near you with a permaculture design certificate (PDC), or knowledge in a similar field. If you were to create a few swales/berms along the natural contours of your property, there would be a TON of benefits. You want the water to stay on your land for as long as possible, and allow it to soak into your soil and not only hydrate your plants, but help keep the well full!
They could ultimately lead to the future pond area and keep it full as well!
I have and I will one day
@@SowtheLand I look forward to watching it!
Do you have hose hangers when they are not in use? I love this channel. I'm learning that it's very wise to prepare and prevent because it's better than repent and repair
Genius and innovative.
Thank you for your great video
Awesome video !
i have watched all those little one and to see it on one video is cool hugsssssss
If it works is it still a bad idea
Great job,, thank you for sharing
Great idea good luck and take care 😊
Thanks 👍
Thank you so much for this video!
You are so welcome!
Blessings 💚🌞
Pretty cool
Great video, helpful
Glad it was helpful!
As the video was playing I was thinking all that water and no pond to catch it. That water could be used for cattle and wildlife - birds, deer, fish. Then you mentioned you were taking baby steps to get to a pond. With all that water flowing down your property at least you now have an idea where a pond could be located.
baby steps
Could you filter some of your rain water in a Brita water pitcher or something similar and have it safe enough to drink?
great ideas
Thank you! 😊
Hi from Canada are you ok?
Thank you💕🙏🏻✝️
Jason, That's a lot of editing on this video. Great job, God Bless You Stay safe 🙏🙏
So much
Great
Y'all are the berries 😊❤
Outstanding 😂
Just make sure it doesn't freeze all I can say best to use that well water then.
a wash and rinse tub by one for doing off grid clothes
R u going to be affected by the new storm that is coming through ❤
What rain? We got very little this year. 😊
What happened to the sound? Is this because of Helene?
blame it on Helene , yeah yeah 🎶 🎼
@@SowtheLandsorry, my error.
JASON - I cant remember if ypur IBC yotes came black or you painted them. Ours are translucent with algea. What would you do/ use to turn them black? Whst would you use to clean the insides; we're somewhat organic and we love our big tall trees, ground story plants and the next 2 tiers if they are present.
ours came black. try painting them or covering them in plastic.
@@SowtheLand Yep ... We're thinking of paint but, if you had already done it. - Our initial intent was for watering vegetation, keeping the fire danger down, etc... But by the end of summer '23 I was sorta, kinda thinking 2650+ gallons of water sitting out in the yard sure would beat filling soda pop and gallon bottles of water every so often for a backup water supply; even if we did decide to boil 'cause you don't want to be effectively camping out with tummy crud.
How do you keep the water from going bad?
always use it.
❤
👍💯
Couldn't you hook up some manual spickets around?
