Great video Sir Jelly Bean, I always anticipate your videos! A tank's gun mantlet is one of the strongest part of the tank, it has to be in order to hold the gun, that's why you couldn't penetrate it. The M4 Sherman's side armour that you shot at was too well angled in order to be penetrated. Your best bet is going to be firing straight through the frontal armour if possible with your HEAT shells until you can get the 75mm L/43 gun on the Panzer IV F2 and the 75mm L/48 gun on the Panzer IV G, H and J. In particular, if you can manage to, put a shell through the hull machine gun port, it's the weakest front-facing part of a tank, as well as the lower glacis.
The AI seems to bring their all on this map when you play defense, It was my 18th day on a Germany campaign. I never saw so many shermans before in this game on one map, they were circling the chateau at the end like you see here, I prolonged them long enough to win though they destroyed every tank I had. I even had a good amount of AT and AT mines placed down too but the number of big shermans and infantry that was pouring in was just overwhelming. Definitely need to come out with the big guns for this map on defensive and expect the Chateau point to be overrun before the end.
I've noticed you're not really using much artillery/stationary weapons apart from the mortar and MG, are you not keen on them? A well placed AT artillery gun would have made a big difference that game. Another entertaining video cheers
Just curious, does that little engineering vehicle hold any mines or engineering supplies? Thinking if it held mines might be very useful to put your infantry to work on defensive mission prep, not that there isn't enough to micro. I have never used it in my play. It is small and cheap comparatively so if it did I might start using it.
@@SirJellyBean Yeah that is my problem, every added call in becomes more and more micro. It is a ton of fun when you get 2 or 3 buddies to help carry the micro load...lol

Yeah I was just panicked and outgunned so much but we fight on , and the 10th Panzer will answer our calls for aid .

It may hold mines but tbh I find I have not enough time to actually deploy them when my forces get larger

I do somtimes but I prefere the call in artillery hits hard and looks cool .
