- The opening scene of "Intermission" which stars a fantastic ensemble cast, and focuses on the lives of a few Dubliners whose lives intertwine... usually with hilarious results!
This scene is my favorite and the funniest of the entire movie.
This makes me want to see the whole movie. I love Colin Farrell and think he is one of the best actors of his generation.
you should defo watch the whole movie...its brilliant... one of the best Irish comedies ever....great opening scene with U2 "out of control" soundtrack... and this scene was shot in my local shopping centre :) lol
watch this film its fuckin cool
Lmao @ at the whole 'mature' club scene.
Try Tea with brown sauce.
this has to be one of the best opening scenes ever
I told my Mexican girlfriend that we could watch a romantic movie ....we watched intermission ...she was super happy for a couple minutes...
lol
It is a romance, Colin Meaney's character is infatuated with Colin Farrell's.
Haha brilliant
Had to watch this scene again because of what’s happening now with banshees ☺️☺️ let the awards come flooding in 💪 two brilliant actors. Well deserved 👍
Kerry and Colin 20 years before Banshees
This movie was filmed in 1week on a limited budget by an independent film company. It is the the highest grossing independant film ever in Ireland. It held the highest box office for 3 years in Ireland. I just wish that I had a tiny piece of that action!
Awesome opening scene. Just awesome
My favourite film!! Love everything about it. So many brilliant quotes, even in just that one scene! "precure the necessaries" 😂😂😂😂 I love that in one of the later scenes he's got the magazine circling a wok hahaha.
I love this film since it came out. Such an underrated unknown film and it´s a shame. Still own the DVD.
@@MrCarpen7er yeah totally!!! I have the dvd as well, me and my brothers qoute it nearly every day! I still haven't been brave enough to go for the brown sauce in my tea yet tho!! 😂😂😂
one of the best opening scenes i've EVER seen
What a film... Colin Farrell is the perfect villain. "But this is the thing, you see... - You just never know what is gonna happen."
That's Kerry Condon. She plays Mike's daughter in law in Better Call Saul
Good spot
omg i didnt notice that .. for am watching better call saul now !
Also Octavia of the Julii in Rome and the voice of Friday in the Marvel Films
10 years since this movie came out.. and it's still good.

"Out of Control" by U2
It's a really early song by U2, you'll find it on their first album from 1980 called 'Boy'
I’m watching this while in Rathfarnham Shopping Center, the place it was filmed 😃
this movie is awesome and this is one of my favorite opening scene.
Man i love that face he make at the end.
Always gets to me! Colin's an amazing actor!
Farrell plays such a good Dubliner 😂
Considering he's from Castleknock in Dublin.
@@latchie8893 Yep, Had to knock the posh edges off his accent for this.
Just found out that's kerry condon from banshees
I love this movie. I always feel bad for the poor girl though.
great scene
Brilliant, he plays such a good knacker
Oh, that scene was so funny. I agree that it's one of the best opening scenes ever. :)
...and twenty years later those two are playing brother and sister in "The Banshees of Inisherin"... After Kerry Condon's character in "How Harry Became a Tree" also gets punched in the face, I was worried it would happen again in Banshees--ouch.
22 yr old Irish male, somehow never even heard of this movie till today, gonna watch as soon as possible, preferably with a crew and a bag or two of some upher shtuff.
Movie scene is terrible at the moment. There has not been a good Irish film in years.
The Dublin accent R O C K S I love Dublin so much fun :)
that was bloody brilliant
Two Oscars nominees.
Can't be treating your sister like this! 😉
Great intro inc U2 blasting out.
Leave behind the old hell raiser! 🤣🤣
It was the rathfarnham shopping center just off butterfield avenue
Bought this movie last week and it's pretty good movie! For some reason, the intertwining of the stories remind of Pulp Fiction!
This first scene, I didn't expect that punch coming!
brillient film
havent seen this movie. but it looks prety good. Farrell is definitely an underestimated actor.
ive never seen this film but now i want to see it
i never laughed so hard in my life

police in Irleand don't have guns, Respect.
Great movie !
Anyone to see The Penguin, Banshees or The Gentlemen… watch Colin in Intermission it’s by a long shot his greatest performance
YT captions barely helped but now I gotta see this
Great film. Irish actors do a great job.
Poor Kerry Condon you feel so sorry for her in this scene.
Just figured out that woman is the replacement for Jervas in Iron Man and the avenger movies! The voice of Tony Starks assistant! Her name in the movie is F.R.I.D.A.Y! Her name in real life is Kerry Condon, and she's from Tipperary! Imagine that 😀
This looks pretty cool Gavin!
it was rathfarnham centre, classic
Yes
It's 'Out of Control' by U2. One of their first singles..
ha iv been in dat shop loads of time 5 mins from were i live..

@MightyFilth thank you very much my friend! now i can finally understand the whole dialogue:)
Hahahahaha!Great opening scene!!
Like brother and sister....
this scene was filmed where i live
Yes it is.
could anyone write me down the entire dialogue, because i have some difficulties to understand that irish accent:)
Did you figure it out yet?
Didn't look like it to me, either. But I was responding to the description up top, which says:
"The opening scene of "Intermission" which stars a fantastic ensemble cast, and focuses on the lives of a few Dubliners whose lives intertwine...usually with hilarious results!
This scene is my favorite and the funniest of the entire movie."
what a film !!!! gwan the farell
The mother using the F word is sort of an in-joke for Dubliners. You see plenty of her type on the streets of Dublin not exactly being role model material to their kids. True to life.
C,'mere to me
Look at yer top, how many tuckin times do I have to tell ye
Its all over ye
thats a dublin accent right there, thats how i talk too!just dont pronounce the letter 't' and the end of a word and you have i!!
yea man but ive been tryin to download it 4 ages and u just cant find it!!!!!!
@kidri0t so did the Celts originate in Basque Spain (I did hear that it was one of the most ancient parts of Europe)? Aren't the Scots Celtic too and the Cornish??? And what about the Galicians? Where do they fit in? Sorry about all the questions but you seem like you might know. Ha
Haha fuckin love this film, its serious...Good ol rathfarnham shopping centre:)
@draltar He won the Golden Globe for in Bruges and IFTA best actor for Ondine.
I can barely understand what Colin Farrell is saying, but I don't really care..I'd listen to him all day..*sigh*
@CreativeCritisizm gaelic is as old as celtic they dont use it as much any more , but the welsh do.
bloody fucking great movies out there in UK, Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels, Snatch, Green Street Hooligans, Intermission...I'm moving to UK!
Intermission is an Irish film
@Grusburk sweety , i believe i said *look like that" , not ''act''
@kidri0t
separate, known as nordic. All modern Europeans and Indians, with a few exceptions like the Basques are descended from the proto-Indo Aryans, so of course there are similarities and the boundaries are somewhat blurred the further back we go in time.
Yah juust nevarh know!!!
"get your fuckin maulers off me"
true that
@Jigsjigz
eye candy is always a plus.
dude, he car jacked someone with a shovel!!
that is so badass!!
@bodyke4life the welsh and irish are the same people really basque spainish then the english and scottish are germanic.
Classic
Dancing in the green.
I think you should pal, with the history between the two nations, it's now Britain and Ireland, they even acknowledge that in GB as well as Ireland. British Isles is pre Ireland's independence.
Anyone know where I can watch the full movie?
omg, i didn't not see that one coming
Am I the only one who was like "HOLY FUCKING SHIT!" when he punched her in the face?
there is nothing wrong with my typing
but i dont get what your saying about an english name to use for the two islands ?? and can i ask where on this earth are you from?
its a great film one of the funniest irish films in years . and im no american im irish so anyone who is irish shouldnt be talkin shite .
Aww what a feckin start to a movie huh!!
@kidri0t
they have links to basque but are not that closely related. Scots, Irish, Bretons, Welsh and Gallicians are more linked to Celts than Basques Scots are not german scandinavian, most closely linked genetically to the Irish...after all the Scots themselves were an Irish tribe who conquered the Picts and brought their Gaelic language.
Quality movie
@Daveyslingshot
Yes they are any person with any knowledge of history would know that Scots and Irish are closely linked. The Celtic nations all share a common ancestry, even language with the Scots and Irish Gaelic languages having the same ancestor. the Scots themselves were an Irish tribe who conquered the Picts, who themselves were a Celtic people. This linkage has been only increased by the million odd Irishmen who have came to Scotland in the last hundred years,
