Just finishing this little coat. Thank you so much for Pattern I have written it all out for myself for later. I’ve also knitted 37 Total Family hats, for homeless Men and Women for next winter. I loved knitting them . Had to stop as it’s way too hot right now. I keep watching you to see if you’ve made any new patterns, besides hats. Thanks again. Now making socks for kids again. Last time I donated 85 pairs. When I dropped them off, one of the volunteers had tears running down her face. She had a very soft heart, perfect for volunteering. I’m 83 years old, and have all the time in the world, ( so far ) 🏴🇨🇦❤️
Thank you, I will give it a go. I appreciate the simple garter stitch used. Great for beginners. I've got 4 ply yarn so hopefully if i use a needle size bigger for the age group it will work out OK.
I just finished this sweater for my new born granddaughter 😊 thank you very much for your step by step tutorial, and I also think it’s more convenient to finish the sleeves first. Thanks again 🙏🥰
Hi Sara! Thank you very much 🌸and l cannot explain how helpful it was to me to knit for the first time :) l’ve done this cute project. Mine is not great but l’ll keep doing though, because the way you teach is just perfect. It would be great if you could share more videos:) thanks a lot, have a great one 🙋🏻♀️ Zeynep.
I'm in the UK and I use the traditional English way of knitting, so would I knit through the front of these stitches and not the back as you're doing please? I'm loving this pattern and so want to have a go. 😊
Hi! I’m a combination continental knitter. You can knit and purl however way you know and the end result will be the same. Thanks for watching. Here’s the link to more videos like this one youtube.com/@knittingforbaby?si=uYqTihxbpDZ6UN_m
@@knittingforbaby thank you so much, I really appreciate that. I'm going to give it a go because I really love the simplicity of this little cardigan. Thanks for creating such wonderful items for us to make 😊
I finished my Cardigan and it was a nice experience. I really loved the way how you sewed the sleeves it doesnt show at all. I would really like to see a tutorial how to knit the sleeves in rounds with the Circular knitting needle 😊
Love your explanation. I lost my knitting book. I have double knitting wool for knitting and knitting baby coat as above by working on 74 sts for Back. Now dear please guide how many sts for Right Front, Left Front and sleeves with raglan shape. It will mean a lot to me if you please help me as I am going to be a grandmother. Thanks and God bless you.
Sorry I can’t remember. Usually I just make them like I show but sometimes I use a strand from the yarn and needle and go around the hole with the whip stitch to make it smaller or nicer.
I love this, made it in a day & a half, I have never made sleeves like this before and they do look great. I normally get bored doing simple ones, but I enjoyed this one, the large holes do look awesome. I usually do pico borders or shell borders, but I did opt for the plain single crochets. When I add stitches its very hard to knit them like this after twisting them on, so what I do is, knit the last stitch and instead of dropping it off, twist that knitted one backwards and cast it on to the left needle, this way when you come back to it, its just a normal stitch that you can knit across verses a twisted one. Because they can easily fall off or are way too tight to work with. Thank you for this lovely tutorial. Looking for the other matching ones now.
Thank you for the tutorial, I did my first cardigan ever and it looks really nice, I'm so happy :) Your videos are really easy to follow, I can't wait to begin my next project :)
Hello,I finished mind today, followed step by step and I did it,its my first cardigan, thank you for the lovely tutorial, can you do more easy tutorials please. Kisses from Belgium 😘😘
Yes. Here’s what I wrote in the information box. You just make it exactly like this video and use the needle size for each size mentioned. NB use 2.5mm needles with #3 yarn 0-3M use 3 mm needles with #3 yarn 3-6M use 3.5 mm needles with #3 yarn 6-9M use 4mm needles with #3 yarn 9-12M use 4.5mm needles with #3 yarn 12-18M use 5mm needles with medium #4 yarn 18-28M use 5.5mm needles with medium #4 yarn
This is a great pattern and an excellent knit along video. I would liked it more if it could have been clear at the beginning what is actually required to complete this pattern you need: - atleast 2 sets of the same size of needle (preferably one round and 1 straight set) - one set that it slightly smaller, - a crochet hook that is larger - a needle to close the arms - some buttons - stitch markers. I did'nt watch the entire video before starting so ended up having to go and buy these things as i was going. So make sure you have everything before you start. Great video though and a perfect pattern for beginners.
I'm really enjoying knitting this! Can I ask, how long is the bigger circular knitting needle please? I already have a smaller one for the sleeve. Thanks in advance ❤
I'd love to knit this little cardigan, but I'm still quite a novice at knitting. Is it necessary to switch to circular needles or are straight needles ok?
Hi Sara! Love this sweater, I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but I end up with stitches between the stitch markers. I’ve done the pattern 5 times with the same result. Please help . Thank you

Lovely sweater I knitted for my 9 months granddaughter size 12 to 18 months. Please advise what size button to use .thanks. looking forward to more of knitting patterns for babies and hats for adults. Thanks
Hi Sara. Thanks for this video. My question is yarn over by the stitch markers I knit the old fashioned way my mother taught me. I yarn over from back to front. That causes my stitch markers to get all wrapped up in the yarn. I have started "unwrapping" them before I knit back across. Do you have a tip how to stop that from happening? Also, I can knit without throwing the yarn but I cannot figure out how to purl that way. Could you make a nice and slow video on how you knit and purl so easily. It would save so much time. I'm an avid crocheter, but I really need to master the art of knitting without having to throw the yarn over with the knit and purl stitch. You a VERY GOOD instructor. 👍
I knitted this for my baby who will be born in May. It is so easy to follow, love your videos! I've already made booties, beanies from your channel. Do you have any tips for making an adult cardigan with this pattern?

It needs to be divisible by five in order to equally increase each section of the sweater so that one side is not longer than the other. I think that the 1 stitch left in between each marker stays one so that it still looks normal but is just larger. if you think about it in terms of math you have to keep the same ratios so don't increase one section by 2 and the other by 1 or it will get oddly shaped. BTW I haven't knitted this yet. I too wanted to increase the size and after watching most of the video It looks like this will work and that everything else follows the rule and stays the same. I hope this, makes sense if you have a question about how I'm explaining this I'll try to answer it. I hope this works because this is gonna take me a while to complete. if you figured out another way then please tell me so I can try it that way.
