Typical of a society to belittle their enemies, turning them into silly or grotesque caricatures, past and present. Though there is no doubt that the man was wise (at least initially) and extremely strong-willed. If only we could have a Hitler-type that fought for GOOD instead of EVIL to unify the world and end armed conflict once and for all. There are those who feel that war is inextricable from the human existence, but I feel this is only if each party involved has something to gain.

It's poor coding. The game decides at that moment that he's dead, so he immediately drops carried items during the rendered cutscene. I wonder if they've patched that by now.

I think it’s a fault in the game mechanics. Hitler actually dies when the Luger falls but it’s still plays the cut scene.

It's because these are scripted scenes. And the game simply switches to a higher poly model that does not have the Luger holstered. Only the in-game model has it. And when that model dissapears, the Luger falls to the floor.

Fun fact, I believe that shot is the only way to make sure that you killed the real Hitler and not a body double. There are two models in the game, one real and one fake, and only one or the other spawns during the mission. The only difference between the two is that the double has a pair of testicles, while the real Hitler only has one; which is based on a possibly true story that he lost one of his balls during the First World War.

I think it’s just a glitch because you can sometimes pick up enemy weapons.
@@Storm_Bird456 Actually, it’s intended. The game marks hitler dead before the cutscene starts to avoid issues with the weapon drop should the body be unretrievable.
