    Best one - the only one I've seen which explains removing and replacing the keyboard properly!

    Thanks, this tutorial really helped me. Thanks to it I just replaced the old RAM with 16GB of fresh new RAM without having to go to the computer place.

    BTW, I recommend using a small flat head screwdriver to lift the right and left front edges of the keyboard...

    Hello! I am planning to uppgrade the RAM in my T420 laptop. Seeing your video is going to help however I still have a question.
    What kind of memory did you use?
    Thank you!

      Should be able to select that drive as boot drive when booting into bios.

    Hi, I hope your doing well... do you know whats the maximum memory I can add to my T420? Your video was great!

  • @johnk6749

    Very good video, but I'm still confused. I removed the memory panel on the bottom of the T420. I wanted to remove the memory board to see what it says on it before I order memory. There is no board there. I can only see the board underneath as shown in the video. I always thought the memory had to be installed in pairs. The system still has the original 4gb and runs fine, but I don't know why there aren't 2 boards.

    very nice vid! subbed!... what are those two wirse on the back of the laptop beside the memory? i accidentally peeled the tape of those wires. do i need to tape it back?... also when i cleaned the fans is it alright that i used electrical tapes when i assemble them again?

    • @RyanjustinChannel
      @RyanjustinChannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should be fine if you don't tape it back. Those wires I believe are for upgrading your wifi card. Can you explain the fan incident a little bit more in depth?

    • @Ava-jp4hw
      @Ava-jp4hw 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh i see i thought i messed something important ha!. How do i know if the fan is still in good shape? I cleaned the fan and out some new thermal paste then assembled it back, when i open the laptop i can see the fan spinning but i dont feel a lot of air coming out of the vents, is it normal? Or my fan gotten weak and need a new one?

    • @RyanjustinChannel
      @RyanjustinChannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fan should be fine. It changes speeds based on the internal temperature. Ex: if your laptop gets too hot your fan should be audibly louder. If your laptop, however, gets dangerously hot I would suggest seeing if anything is blocked. If not, I would get a new fan.

    What is that empty space next to the already installed RAM at the back of laptop from where you opened the screw to remove the keyboard at 2:56 ?

    • @animeboyzx6403

      Is most likely for a optional 3g or 4g card since you see two antenna cables red and blue going to it

    what is the maximum GB of RAM this laptop can hold?

    • @bijanshadnia3620
      @bijanshadnia3620 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thinkpad T420 can handle a maximum of 16BG RAM.
      Personally I probably wouldn't use any machine older than the T420.

  • @sinead7509

    I installed 8gb of ram into my Lenovo t420, the ram works fine I installed it correctly and everything, but when I go to system properties it still says I only have 4gb installed?

    • @RyanjustinChannel
      @RyanjustinChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have the correct RAM installed? If you do, try switching the RAM sticks with each other. If that still doesn't work, one of your sticks of memory may be faulty or broken.
