  • Here is how you swap out an alternator on a 2001 jdm Subaru legacy gtb e-tune ej20.
    yeah that's a long title.
Many models and engines will be the same and the parts are interchangeable just watch for differences in the plug in connector. you could in a bind even splice those wires to change the connector but I'm not gonna get into that in this video.
when tightening bolts that are for brackets you don't need to torque everything.
Get in the habbit of going by feel.
Use a constant pressure and feel the bolt.
of you are that worried you can look up engineering charts for bolt grades and size and look what the engineered torque is.
this only works for brackets and bolts holding things. bearing nuts are critical for torque and sealing bolts for oil pans and water pumps and such require stages and patterns to clamp down evenly and properly.
I could make a whole video on sealing sequences but just a little more info to help you along and enhance your technique.
    love you all.
    keep wrenching.

I followed your excellent video, step by step, with my 2001 Subaru Legacy. My first time installing an Alternator, was easy & successful. The details and tips in your instructions, and the clear video was super helpful. thank you.
