Got to feel bad for these athletes with family members that just completely refuse to work or do anything but demand hand-outs. All I can say for people is, if you let your family worry you until you are sick; you will get sick, and then wish somebody would worry about you. So don't do it. Be good to your people, but you have to live your best possible life too. Everybody feels it, trying to move up an inch in life past the very early years, can be lonely. Your friends will disappear once you start achieving things. Be strong.
I went to CLHS class of 2012, I remember playing against this dude. Thib was our rival which caused games to end in all out brawls. Lots of which were gang related even in high school. I watched him in the draft get taken right after Mack. I was proud and just happy to see someone from our area being put on the map. Thibodaux is beautiful with an underbelly full of unseen turmoil. Definitely an area full of savages.

Crazy thing is Greg had so many posters and billboards in Thibodaux because of him going to NFL draft and a lot of people was honestly happy because someone from our town went to the NFL. It was crazy. Same can be said about Trovon and Amik. Also with Eric Andolsek decades earlier.

Rams fan here. I remember being hyped when we drafted GRob, we definitely needed a tackle and he was a physical demon, even tho I rated Matthews higher because I thought he was more pro ready. With the Donald pick it was weird, because even though I knew he was too good to pass, we needed other positions more, and we had two starting quality DT already in the roster with Langford and Brockers, who we just drafted with our 1st the previous year. Funny how things turned out

This reminds me of the trouble former Cowboys offensive lineman Nate Newton got into after his NFL career ended, but this was in MUCH shorter time span. Towards the end of 2001, he was arrested twice with massive amounts of marijuana. November 4th, he had 213 lbs of marijuana in his van. December 12th.... 5 WEEKS LATER, he was caught having 175 lbs of marijuana in his van and sentenced to 30 months in prison. Fortunately for Nate, he's since turned his life around. Hopefully Greg Robinson is able to find his light at the end of the tunnel.

Even the draft footage before they drafted AD, Rapoport said that the rams were seriously considering taking Johnny Manziel because they wanted the Tackle and the QB, but AD was there and they didn’t think he would be so they had to take him. NFL throwback has a video of the first round picks in 2014, at 22 minutes roughly rapoport and Daniel Jeremiah mention it there.
I was never more excited about a lineman when my Rams drafted Greg Robinson. Back then, drafting AD was great but I thought this guy was going to be dominant, physical, slobber knocking hog for 10 years. I hope he gets his life back on track

Went to Thibodaux High. Class of 2012. Greg was 2011. Played football with him and hung out with him a good bit. Cool guy actually, funny dude. I don’t really know why he chose the route he did. Seen him a few months before his second time arrested, seemed to be doing alright. Everyone in Thibodaux was rooting for him. It’s all just messed up. And think what you will about him, but he did give a good bit of money to help Thibodaux High.

It reminded me of Nate Newton when he played for the Cowboys. Afterwards he got busted twice for transporting pot and got sent to prison for a few years. Luckily for him he had a great support network at the Cowboys and he was able to get back on his feet and now works in their post game broadcast.

I picked the Rams randomly in 2009 as an 8 year old because they were the worst team and they had Steven Jackson. I didn't see a winning season until I was 16 and Super Bowl 53 broke me but it was all worth it man because we did it and I still can't believe it! I'm from the Bay Area too so I got shit on relentlessly for years for it, first it was for rooting for the trash team, then it was for them "owning" us/the Levis South/No fans stuff and 3 points in the SB... lets just say I went off after the NFC title lmao that was the real Super Bowl for me I'm ngl. I remember this story, a big part you left out is they took the worst route driving back. They took the southern route across texas that passes through border patrol check points. They should of taken the northern route up through the panhandle of texas. They would of at lease avoided the check points going this way.

I’m by no means a hatter and no one can deny Donald has been one of the 5 best players in the league since he was drafted. Nothing but respect and would be willing to give up almost my entire team to get him cause he’s just that amazing….but I can’t bring myself to acknowledge he’s a super bowl champ cause it hurts too much. Waiting my entire life to see the Bengals win it all has been hell and that’s what I convinced myself we were gonna do going into the super bowl. This story kind of reminds me of another NFL player that was talented and he got mixed up with another NFL guy that was selling drugs..Vanover..he playe for the Chiefs and was a great return guy.then he got hooked up with Bam Morris(pit RB) and they got popped with a good amount of weed,got slapped on the wrist and then a year or so later he was trying to be the kingpin of K.C. and got arrested again..i wounder what happened to them two fools??

Damn, I'd really like to know why he decided to do that. I don't think drugs should be criminalized cuz it sets up people for stuff like this. Still it was his responsibility to not get involved in something that could send you to prison and ruin your life. Wish the best for dude.
If you never made a run you would never understand but it's a couple of things part of it's adrenaline factor of doing something illegal at the same time part of it is actually getting pulled over knowing that you have the shite in your car and getting away with it.
Another part of it is the adrenaline rush you get from the deal l as well as the massive amount of cash that you ascertain in your hand it makes you feel like a king in that moment.

I agree. Drugs should be all about decriminalization. The system just makes too much money off of lifelong drug offenders.
San Francisco has tried the decriminalizing drug route, and from my understanding it's bringing san francisco down. It's just too easy to get drugs and by decriminalizing it, addicts don't choose rehab over hard jail time, they choose a weekend in lockup and get back to drugs.

Well, I don’t know how bad it was when he was at Thibodaux High but now that school is a hell hole because of the school management, so there is no way he learned anything about financing. Also the place looks like a prison. The football program is terrible, because of the head coach. I will give Greg one thing he has natural talent, because that’s the only way to start at that school. That could be why his NFL career flopped the first couple of years. He needed some more coaching to succeed. With the drugs he might just be dumb as a brick because he came from THS.

I don’t know why he decided to go the route he did. Saw him a few months before the 2nd time he got arrested and seemed to be doing good. It’s just all messed up.
