Wow, the dinosaur skeletons completely took me by surprise--I must use them in the future. I can't wait to see them, and the rest of the boards, further down the road!
Nice. You could cut off the plates on the Steg, they are delicate and broke easily. Laying them flat with snow around them, or at slight angles may give you a better feel for a dislocated skeleton. Have you looked at some of the cliffs of Greenland? I think with pockets of snow on the cliffs you might be more pleased.
How large are these panels? 1x2 feet? What size of table does your typical customer request? How are your panels intended to be linked together? I have watched *many* of your videos. You are very skilled and also do a great job of describing what you did, how you did it and most importantly WHY you did it and what you would do differently.
Make a false cave front: aluminum foil on your existing scenic, then cut a foam cave entrance, then use your acrylic to mold it to the existing scenic on top of the aluminum foil. When dry, you have a removable cave entrance. Could even magnetize it.
Looking awesome! Would have been cool to have more crevasses around the table, not just on one board, but thats just my opinion. Either way it's really cool!!!
im sure the crevasses will look great once the snow is done also great idea with the dinosaur skeletons (now i finally know what to do with my own) i think the skeletons would also look nice in desert landscapes (protruding from dunes)
about heating up plastic, heat up some water, leave it boiling and put the parts in. Leave it for some time, take it out and sculpt. Pretty hot process, but this is how I fix and plastic/resin issue. 100-120°C should make any plastic pretty flexible. Using a flame you will melt the process and you do not have much control over the heat. Anyhow, great video. Making two tables for Warmachine and one will definitely be a snow table. Thnx alot!
+Tony Grant (XDarkNerdTonyX) That is a complicated subject. I would suggest starting out looking at the Woodland Scenics video on snow and ice using their products. They show a skating pond or similar that they use their Realistic Water tinted with some paint to create some very convincing ice. :)
Very cool vid, explained a lot your thoughts Flat black on your cavern might be cool, wondering if you could round the bottom with flock and transition it to black to give it more depth dunno how that'd work scale wise. Hill boards are just too cool perfection bro, don't think the angles on it looks bad at all. sweeeeeeeettttttt. The dino's have just given me a ton of ideas jezz more stuff to get rofl.
How do you prevent the styrofoam from chipping? I read the storage and care section on your site but i would like to know what kind of treatment you give it to make the terrain "stackable" without chipping.
Just a little heads up, I don't know what the "time frame" is the customer plays his games in, but if these are fossils the bone should be probably be a lot darker as they would darken over time like fossils do :p Kind of an odd sentence structure.
The third board looks just amazing!
I love how you gave thought to the death throws of your dinosaurs. (including sounds). Your attention to detail is inspiring. :)
Those hills look réally awesome. Réally looking forward to see the finished product.

Snow boards look great, specially the hill piece! Cool idea with the dino bones.
Some great ideas and work, thanks for sharing.

Great thanks!
P.S. You make very inspirering terrain pieces, keep it up.
I love the crevasses and hills, although I do think you should have dug up the dinosaurs for authenticity ;)

Nice tip. I can see a use for that technique very soon possibly. If I do use it, you can be sure I will mention it. :)

Bone fields, nice... I think those big T-Rex ribs would look good protruding out of the snow. Maybe even scatter some bones around your upcoming cave,

I think you are being to critical with respects to the angles, the hill looks great!

How about partially submerging one of the bone boards?
too bad you didn't put a dinosaur skeleton Under the icy lake.
Great job btw
Crevasses good Idea
(the hill boards)
